That is such a wild take to say “Jimmy Kimmel or Howard Stern is the Joe Rogan of the Left”

Joe Rogan used to be the Joe Rogan of the left. He was a big fan of Bernie. The more impartant part of this equation is the guest. Look at this history of who he has had on the podcast and you get a clear timeline of his shift in ideology. This is in part because the right has a million people to throw up there and talk to him. The left has no one to represent their side TO someone like Joe Rogan. Bernie does it best but he isn't going to last forever and he is one man. The same thing goes for Theo Von. A month ago Bernie was on there turning this man into a socialist. These podcast hosts are not right wing grifters (some of them are) They are chameleons that aren't trying to fight they are trying to let people talk and blend in and purposefully be non-confrontational. A comment on door knockers. I am pretty sure that some people just go along and "agree" with whomever shows up at their door as a form of politeness. No one wants to be confronted or have an argument at their own front door. The fastest way to make the person move along is just to say "yes, yes, of course" and then shut the door and forget all about it.

After talking to them, I was told multiple times that they had already been contacted by a door knocker who was "obviously tweeking" or similar. People don't want people at their door that they can't connect with.

From everything I've seen/heard over the past week, it's becoming more clear to me which swing voters went for Trump--people who have not yet recovered economically from the pandemic (lower/working class voters, younger voters, even some middle class voters) and people who had concerns about immigration. Sarah Longwell at The Bulwark pointed out that most people don't like Trump as a person AT ALL, but they attribute their financial situation being better under Trump as being a result of something Trump did. They don't understand that correlation is not causation. That's the problem with us Dems, we always swoop in to fix all the shit Repubs have caused and because it takes time to see the results we don't get any credit. Cleaning up messes rarely gets any respect, that's why Biden didn't get any credit either. You can't run on the slogan, "Things could have been much worse." Also, erasing student loan debt, while I personally agree with it, is seen as elitest by folks that haven't gone to college and I when I see it through their lens I don't totally disagree with their viewpoint. If I were a struggling working class person coming out of the pandemic and thought my tax dollars were going to pay off someone else's college loans, I don't think I'd be too happy either. I live in a conservative city in Southern California that went for Trump the previous two times, but soundly rejected him this time. The only way I can explain it is because our city is solidly upper middle class, college-educated voters.

They tend to agree with who they are speaking with to demonstrate that value. I wonder about her spouse. In my area, every older Asian woman I come across is married to a conservative white male who served in the military. That matters in voting behavior. I understand my take is not based on data, but my daily experience makes me suspect the woman mentioned voted for Trump in the end. That’s not to say Asian women are uninformed or can’t think independently, but perhaps generation, marital situation, and culture led to a different outcome than the team hoped for.

Peanut the Squirrel bit ... Who? The animal control team that showed up. The owners were forced to sit outside the home while animal control (NY DEC) checked their house for animals that they didnt have explicit permission to keep. Bit of a Tiger King situation? However, Peanut had been in their care for years, was a baby squirrel orphan, and appeared by all counts to be well cared for by these individuals and would not have been okay released in the wild after being domesticated.
So, a bunch of humans walk in to catch the squirrel rather than letting the owner/handler pick him up. And the squirrel bit the animal control agent.
And then they used the "oh no rabies" rule to kill the squirrel and test it for rabies ... Which, obviously, negative ... It lives in a home with humans.
So its an unusual situation but Peanut was an amazing squirrel i had been watching for awhile and the Elon Musk sell of "this is government overreach" was easy to do. Even though IMO this is the petty tyranny of local government.
So ... Idk, please dont laugh off the Peanut story. It is tragic and since the GOP chose to make it a thing, wouldve been nice if Democrats could have shown compassion and agreed this is gross.

Secondly, the content of all of these shows can be broadly categorized into two categories. "Young men's issues" and "shit young men are interest in." I think Kamala and her team simply aren't very interested in many things that young men are interested in, and think that the only issue facing young men today is that they aren't deferential enough to young women.

The comments section is wild and a hard read. So many bad faith, untrue, one-sided finger pointing. It’s asinine.
