Just found this video because I keep seeing ads for the DreamBox but I don’t want to pay THAT much for organizing my stash when I already have a dedicated craft room. I’m trying to reduce and consolidate what I have so my other furniture can be used for my Loungefly collection. Great job! This looks like something I can do with a bit of help from my husband and my dad!

This is an absolute lifesaver for those of us that don't have 3k to drop but still deserve a really great storage solution for hobbies. This improves a lot on the original design too! First of all I am sending prayers for your continued and speedy recovery. I can somewhat empathize with you darlin' because 2+- years ago I had to have 4 urgent surgeries 2 of them in the same day 1 right after the other and all of them in less than a 2 week time period, all abdominal. Not the best time I've ever had for sure but now that I've healed up completely I can't believe how much better I feel and you will too for sure. Now I wanted to tell you what a fabulous job your husband did describing what materials you two used and also explaining the process of building it. I personally think if I follow the video starting and stopping it as I go along and of course with one or both of my grown sons for their strength and extra pair of hands I could absolutely build this Vision Box. Lastly I have to tell you this was the first time I had come across one of your video tutorials and between the honest and very loving way your husband was talking up your talents which in turn made me want to watch a few more of your videos and I immediately had to subscribe to your channel and now I am truly looking forward to your return so I can enjoy many more of your tutorials in the future. I really appreciate your comment. Recovery has been tough but with the support of my husband and family, I’m getting though all the Doctor appointments and physical therapy. The Vision Box has been a project of mines for the past 2 years. The more pictures and videos I seen of the Dream Box, the more I figured out that I can build my own version. The price was the main motivating factor and I had allot of the IKEA furniture already. I’m so glad that it turned out how it did and my husband was able to present it for me. I didn’t expect the overwhelming positive feedback and people actually wanted to buy one of these 🤯 The best thing about building one of these is that it’s totally customizable to fit your needs. My guy can Build too and I just showed him this. Thank you for sharing. He just built me a huge table on wheels with cubbie holes that I have some fabric cube storage bins and outlets for my sewing machine and serger. This box will be great for all my cricuts and crafting pieces.

I used brackets that I got at a special woodworking store. The legs fold down as I lift the table. I used a dining room table leaf extender to make my table longer. That leaf sits on the side of the cabinet.
This is phenomenal! I love the way you set up the table. The legs are a weak spot for the DreamBox because it's so easy to hurt yourself putting the table up and down. Your solution takes an extra 30 seconds, maybe, but it's much safer and it looks much sturdier, too. Plus the extensions are a great idea. I echo everyone's comments about some kinds of written plan. I'm going to go look at your channel videos now to see if you've done any kind of update on things you'd do differently or things you've changed with this now that you've had it in your home for a while. If you don't have something like that, it would be great to see what tweaks you've made.

That is an INCREDIBLE (DreamBox) dupe! Thank you for the time spent creating the dupe, I’ve always wanted a “DreamBox”. I’ve always created “Modular” type furniture because you can do so many things to it and re-invent. It’s an investment of proper shelving wood, that can go a long way. I’ve been creating with it before IKEA came around. (For about 30 years), my city didn’t have IKEA, so Home Depot was my creative spot. (Yet…I do love IKEA 🥰). This is fantastic! I was in the process of making a decision to purchase the Dreambox but could see how I was going to get it into the house. Using your video, I can customize my box even more and still keep it simple. Plus, I can customize the size. This is WONDERFUL! You should market these your plan!
I came into a little bit of money a while ago and bought a DreamBox and it's amazing! Before that though, I stared at it for a looong time and would look into how to do it for cheaper. I figured it could be duped with Ikea furniture and some creativity but yeah, you guys really captured the essence of the DreamBox better than anyone else doing dupes out there I've seen. Those people did decent jobs too, but you guys really seemed to get it. I think people are paying for the convenience of having everything come to your door with very little building required because we all just want to get right into the organizing, so good on you guys for taking the time to show us with a little effort and patience, it can be done. I wanted to purchase a dreambox about 2 years ago. Besides the price, one major problem is that I live in an apartment building and logistically it couldn’t be delivered to me. So I started looking into how the dreambox is made. Since I’m an avid IKEA shopper, I figured it can be duped using some of their bookshelves and closet systems. We started the build about a year ago and to my surprise it came out better than expected. My husband and I started to film the process so one day we could show how our version came out. The goal was to try and replicate the dreambox as close as possible on a affordable budget. It feels great when dreambox owners like yourself appreciate my work. It took about 6 months to complete the visionbox and cost around $1,000 for all the supplies and materials. I completely understand the convenience of purchasing a dreambox so you can just get to crafting. If they come out with different size variations at more affordable price points and delivery options for people that don’t have driveways, I think more people would purchase the dreambox instead of creating diy versions. @@AnnetteWalkerVisionaryBeauty oh wow! It took that long to make? Well, quality takes time and effort. I live in a condo in Toronto Canada and couldn't easily bring the DreamBox inside. They didn't have an option (at the time that I purchased it) to buy it pre-assembled so we took in the pieces bit by bit from outside (luckily I bought it in May and it was nice weather) and had to destroy the wood crate it came in because there was no way I could use it for anything else. Assembling it in our tiny condo was rough as the pieces were everywhere, and some pieces were broken on arrival so we had to wait to get new pieces sent before we finished, which luckily didn't take too long. I too know the pain of a small place. I talk about my DreamBox and some of the bonuses and weaknesses of my personal journey with it on my channel. I believe the company used to have smaller versions of their product but maybe not enough people were buying their other ones? I'm not sure why they got rid of those models myself. Anyway, again, you did an amazing job! Now you know how to make one and could make others for storing other things in the future. Very awesome! I was looking into the pros and cons of buying a dreambox and your video along with many others is the reason I why decided to go the DIY route. By the way, I have family in Toronto and visited there a few years ago. Lovely place! It actually took a few days to build the visionbox but about 6 months to perfect it. Had to change the casters and parts of the frame because things would break. Plus I keep updating it by adding and changing things. I have plans to build my brother a visionbox but with IKEA’s pax system in the near future. Hopefully we can film that to show another version. Thanks for your response 😁💖

I don’t have any written directions, it’s just more of visually putting everything together. Allot of trial and error when it came to the crown, inserts, casters and extended doors. My husband tried his best to explain the vision box but I change stuff all the time. Hopefully we can do some updates with easy to follow instructions on creations in the future. @@joannbarnes4224 I’m assuming diy dreambox are becoming popular because IKEA raised prices on their Billy’s and Pax systems. In fact, the Pax closets are not even in stock at any of my local IKEA’s. So keep that in mind when you building your craft closet. Thanks for watching.

After watching so many reviews of the Dream box and wanting it but not wanting to pay $2,000+ I decided to see if it can be duplicated. Once I got an idea of the way it was built, I knew that I can build something similar. Being that I’m an avid IKEA shopper and almost all their furniture has to be built, my husband and I put 2 and 2 together and the visionbox was created. It helped out so much in keeping my stuff organized and with everything being all in one place, I have time to create. What I didn’t anticipate is how close my design came out in comparison to the actual Dream box and the overwhelming feedback of this video. Now I have to figure if I can build more to sell. My guy can Build too and I just showed him this. Thank you for sharing. He just built me a huge table on wheels with cubbie holes that I have some fabric cube storage bins and outlets for my sewing machine and serger. This box will be great for all my cricuts and crafting pieces.

Wow this is the best dream box DIY I have ever seen. You and your wife are great!
I used brackets that I got at a special woodworking store. The legs fold down as I lift the table. I used a dining room table leaf extender to make my table longer. That leaf sits on the side of the cabinet.
This is phenomenal! I love the way you set up the table. The legs are a weak spot for the DreamBox because it's so easy to hurt yourself putting the table up and down. Your solution takes an extra 30 seconds, maybe, but it's much safer and it looks much sturdier, too. Plus the extensions are a great idea.
I echo everyone's comments about some kinds of written plan. I'm going to go look at your channel videos now to see if you've done any kind of update on things you'd do differently or things you've changed with this now that you've had it in your home for a while. If you don't have something like that, it would be great to see what tweaks you've made.

I dit the exact same thing using ikea cabinets I got on marketplace. Piano hinges were my biggest expense.
That is an INCREDIBLE (DreamBox) dupe! Thank you for the time spent creating the dupe, I’ve always wanted a “DreamBox”. I’ve always created “Modular” type furniture because you can do so many things to it and re-invent. It’s an investment of proper shelving wood, that can go a long way. I’ve been creating with it before IKEA came around. (For about 30 years), my city didn’t have IKEA, so Home Depot was my creative spot. (Yet…I do love IKEA 🥰). Using your video, I can customize my box even more and still keep it simple. Plus, I can customize the size. This is WONDERFUL! You should market these your plan!
I came into a little bit of money a while ago and bought a DreamBox and it's amazing! Before that though, I stared at it for a looong time and would look into how to do it for cheaper. I figured it could be duped with Ikea furniture and some creativity but yeah, you guys really captured the essence of the DreamBox better than anyone else doing dupes out there I've seen. Those people did decent jobs too, but you guys really seemed to get it.
I think people are paying for the convenience of having everything come to your door with very little building required because we all just want to get right into the organizing, so good on you guys for taking the time to show us with a little effort and patience, it can be done. I wanted to purchase a dreambox about 2 years ago. Besides the price, one major problem is that I live in an apartment building and logistically it couldn’t be delivered to me. So I started looking into how the dreambox is made. Since I’m an avid IKEA shopper, I figured it can be duped using some of their bookshelves and closet systems. We started the build about a year ago and to my surprise it came out better than expected. My husband and I started to film the process so one day we could show how our version came out. The goal was to try and replicate the dreambox as close as possible on a affordable budget. It feels great when dreambox owners like yourself appreciate my work. It took about 6 months to complete the visionbox and cost around $1,000 for all the supplies and materials. I completely understand the convenience of purchasing a dreambox so you can just get to crafting. If they come out with different size variations at more affordable price points and delivery options for people that don’t have driveways, I think more people would purchase the dreambox instead of creating diy versions. @@AnnetteWalkerVisionaryBeauty oh wow! It took that long to make? Well, quality takes time and effort. I live in a condo in Toronto Canada and couldn't easily bring the DreamBox inside. They didn't have an option (at the time that I purchased it) to buy it pre-assembled so we took in the pieces bit by bit from outside (luckily I bought it in May and it was nice weather) and had to destroy the wood crate it came in because there was no way I could use it for anything else. Assembling it in our tiny condo was rough as the pieces were everywhere, and some pieces were broken on arrival so we had to wait to get new pieces sent before we finished, which luckily didn't take too long. I too know the pain of a small place. I talk about my DreamBox and some of the bonuses and weaknesses of my personal journey with it on my channel. I believe the company used to have smaller versions of their product but maybe not enough people were buying their other ones? I'm not sure why they got rid of those models myself. Anyway, again, you did an amazing job! Now you know how to make one and could make others for storing other things in the future. Very awesome! I was looking into the pros and cons of buying a dreambox and your video along with many others is the reason I why decided to go the DIY route. By the way, I have family in Toronto and visited there a few years ago. Lovely place! It actually took a few days to build the visionbox but about 6 months to perfect it. Had to change the casters and parts of the frame because things would break. Plus I keep updating it by adding and changing things. I have plans to build my brother a visionbox but with IKEA’s pax system in the near future. Hopefully we can film that to show another version. Thanks for your response 😁💖

I don’t have any written directions, it’s just more of visually putting everything together. Allot of trial and error when it came to the crown, inserts, casters and extended doors. My husband tried his best to explain the vision box but I change stuff all the time. Hopefully we can do some updates with easy to follow instructions on creations in the future. After watching so many reviews of the Dream box and wanting it but not wanting to pay $2,000+ I decided to see if it can be duplicated. Once I got an idea of the way it was built, I knew that I can build something similar. Being that I’m an avid IKEA shopper and almost all their furniture has to be built, my husband and I put 2 and 2 together and the visionbox was created. It helped out so much in keeping my stuff organized and with everything being all in one place, I have time to create. What I didn’t anticipate is how close my design came out in comparison to the actual Dream box and the overwhelming feedback of this video. Now I have to figure if I can build more to sell.
