I am blown away with this air fryer. So easy to use, and absolutely no mess th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB quick clean up! It's my first air fryer and after reading many reviews on line and on Amazon, and seeing my 2 daughter's air fryers, I chose this particular one because of its size, shape, high reviews, the way the baskets are made and the recipe book. WOW, the 100 pg recipe book has beautiful photos and recipes. First night we made the Mongolian wings (see photo) and they were so crispy, tasty and gorgeous (we put them back into the fryer for an additional 8 minutes to get the darker color). 2nd night we made the Cajun catfish. Both from the recipe book. Clean up was super quick: quick wipe with paper towel followed by wash in hot soapy water, no soaking, no oil to drain nor deal with (see photos). I highly recommend this air fryer, this size is perfect for 2 people! This is hands down the best air fryer!

The two ingredient “donuts” are the recipe for bagels in the air fryer. Add some egg wash and then sprinkle with Everything but the Bagel seasoning. Can also stuff with cream cheese too! Soooo good!!

Working in kitchen and we dont put it on when there's like 5cm (sorry amerikans - Google it😂) left to The blade.
Also you dont out weight on it (push it down towards the blade) you just slide it over the blade - it will cut good pieces anyway if its a good sharp blade. It should'nt be as tough as it seems to be for rachel :)

As far as the veggie chips go.. my husband found an amazing recipe for thin sliced zucchini and yellow squash on a lightly sprayed sheet pan season to taste and then finely grated parmesan on top baked till brown and crispy. I can't remember the temp and for how long off the top of my head. They're SO good though!! I haven't tried them in the air fryer yet (I just got one for Christmas finally lol) but I bet they'd be just as good in the air fryer as they are in the oven.

  • @LarrietDarling

A doughnut needs to be deep-fried. Of COURSE just baking it (when the original recipe was deep-fried) is going to taste different and give it a different texture!
An air fryer is just a miniature convection oven.
The dough you use to make doughnuts can absolutely be used to make a whole heap of other bread things (ie. pizza dough, garlic knots, breadsticks).
It's the frying part that makes the doughnut magic happen because of super fast water evaporation and all of that.

    • @zapdara
      @zapdara 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Exactly. Barry Lewis tried that dough recipe a few years ago specifically for pizza dough (and thought it was great), so I knew right away that without the hot oil Rachel was never going to get doughnuts.

Every time I point out that Air Fryers are convection & the word "fry" is a misnomer, people get unreasonably angry. I'm from Texas where pretty much every one I know has a deep fryer (extra points for the Fry Daddy) and the idea of replacing it seems like pure sacrilege

You can add one to two drops of peppermint extract to your coffee creamer. Wala you have it all year. Add till you like the flavor. There is a reason cheese is batter-coated not flowered and rolled in a thing when you fry it in any way. You need the thing on the outside to be a solid barrier before the cheese starts to melt out of the tube you made. Yes, different veggies need different amounts of time to dehydrate. I am going to make the smores. As far as the last one fallow your heart.

    Couple notes:
    1. I would have put the cheese sticks in the freezer for a bit to firm up before breading and air frying. Helps keep the cheese where’s you want it.
    2. The 2-ingredient dough is for a “bagel” not a donut…so it definitely could be pizza or add everything but the bagel seasoning (egg wash to get it to stick)

Hear me out… self rising flour, vanilla Greek yogurt. Flatten out the dough brush with a mixture of cinnamon and butter (or coconut oil). Roll them into mini cinnamon rolls. Then add glaze once done.

Ex-Bakery Manager here 🙋‍♀️👩‍🍳: With the donut holes, I definitely agree to add sugar and make them 3 ingredients; but also with the glazing, you should try soaking the donut holes in the glaze for a few seconds (like, straight out of the air fryer and into the glaze) so they can absorb some of the sweetness. Also, if you want the glaze to have that sort of "hard, shininess" (like most glazed donuts), throw them on a cooling rack that's placed on top of a baking sheet and heat in the oven (at like, 275 F) for no more than 2 minutes. (you could probably also throw them back into the air fryer, but you'll need to find some sort of wire rack that would fit in it...and make sure to put some tinfoil down so it doesn't get all sticky! 😅)

Same!!!! I've always wondered if certain things like donuts would work in an air fryer.

I’ve used the last recipe for air fryer bagels… try it with everything but the bagel seasoning

I use the 2 ingredient recipe for flatbreads. It’s really lovely with a bbq or pizza.

I use the 2 ingredient “donut” mixture to make flatbread, and cook it in a frypan. So delicious and easy for middle eastern or Indian food. Kind of is similar to naan to.

My two favorite things to make in my air fryer are roasted potatoes and hard boiled eggs. The potatoes are easy, just cutting baby potatoes into cubes, adding a little olive oil, and some of your favorite seasoning (I like Italian or BBQ seasoning.) and air fry at 400 for 10 minutes, stir, and cook for another 5. Hard boiled eggs are simple. 15 minutes at 270, then an ice bath to cool them.

I do zucchini chips all the time in the oven :) tiny sclices, on a parchemin paper and a baking sheet, a little olive oil, no touching, a little salt, 450 in the oven, 10-15 minutes, then in a bowl with your spices of choice ( my favorite are bbq and pizza spices) then enjoy! :) sometimes they need more time if they are not thin enough, you can also take off salt a little before baking, put salt on them, wait 10 minutes, dry with a paper towel, then start the process!

I agree that tyred make really good garlic knots - but they'd be even better with shredded cheddar added to the dough!
