I live in Warsaw, Poland and I'm a nanny. I see Ukrainian mothers and children at playgrounds every day. The one thing that is happy and hopeful in this awful situation is how children assimilate with eachother. They don't care about language barrier or anything else, they are just happy to play together.

That IS good to hear. Canada has such a large population of Ukranians, people of Ukranian descent, including my husband's family. It is odd to be seeing this war from so far, and being uncertain that aid we are trying to send is of help.
We have also seen how much the bordering nations, Poland in particular have helped.

I didn’t know Chris has Ukrainian parents. I am from Romania, refugees from Ukraine who cross the border and choose to stay here are receiving a lot of support from the public with temporary housing, I know people who are housing 1-2 families. I live pretty far away from the border in a small town but I have seen here mothers with children, it is heartbreaking what these people are going through. I can only support with some money local businesses that offer free service or food to Ukrainian refugees

It’s great to hear how neighboring countries are receiving the refugees. Living in America, there’s so much resistance to “outsiders”, even though most of our ancestors were immigrants and often refugees.
Unrelated to the war, Romania is my FAVORITE place I’ve ever been to!! I was able to see Constanta, Brasov/Bran, Baile Herculane, Timisoara, and some tiny towns like Globu Craiovei. I want to go back soon. 🥰

@@sailorellie9133 I agree so much with you, we should be much more open especially to refugees from war! It breaks my heart that all they want is a safe place to lay their children down to sleep and enough food to survive! When I was in college in the 1980s inLos Angeles, some of the hardest and best workers I ever worked with were immigrants! They were so happy to be here and have the opportunity to better their children’s lives and the stories they would tell about the poverty and violence they left made me realize how lucky I was to be born here and be able to attend a good university! My great grandmother whose parents were immigrants from Romania was the one who started the wealth line that allowed me to afford college. We weren’t rich but she made some savvy real estate deals at a time when women didn’t do that! @@sailorellie9133 we are so blessed! Every time I see pictures of the Ukrainian refugees, I want to bring everyone here to my neighborhood and cook for them and hug them all! The cooking part is my Italian root (I also have Irish and French, so I am a mix of many and thankfully my family held onto some traditions from all of them!). I feel like that is being lost with each passing generation and I guess that is one of the many reasons that I am so angry when anyone tries to obliterate another person’s culture. I know America was born on the back of obliterating the indigenous cultures already here. I guess I am idealistic but I just wish we could all get along and have one big harmonious world where we celebrate and learn from all our differences and be more aware of all our similarities also! 😢

What if you cut a grapefruit in half and put sugar on it and then stick it in the air fryer? Would the top go crunchy like the top of crème brûlée? I have no air fryer to test this. I might need to fix that.

My dad had grapefruit trees in his backyard, and when I'd go visit him in the summers, my responsibility was to pick 2 grapefruit off the tree every morning that we then halved and ate for breakfast. I covered mine with a ton of sugar, but they were awesome. lol

Marionberries are the best berries but they only grow in specific places in the Pacific Northwest of America. Mostly because they're a very specific breed of blackberries that's not really natural. But I can only get them or their products like pies and jam during our annual Oregon trip, so I don't get them often, so otherwise blackberries, blueberries and raspberries are really good, and strawberries are great too. I think I just like berries. Also I guess strawberries aren't technically berries. According to botanical identification.

Maybe if you didn’t wash the lettuce or maybe washed it the night before and let it dry and then cut it up first and then put it in the air fryer with the oil. ❤️

We did a blind taste test yesterday of mini eggs.
Cadbury, pc, hershey eggies and mm eggs. You inspired us and might be fun for you to do it too, since you love mini eggs so much. Try a adding a few other generic brands in there.

I have close friends in the Ukraine. Some have left because it was too dangerous where they were which was close to the border. I have other friends that are towards the middle of the Ukraine and they are still safe and have had very little changes so far. Hoping things will calm down soon!

I have now tried the Cadbury eggs and the oranges and yummmm. I’m not a yogurt person so I did the orange alone but I think that with some ice cream would be good. I wasn’t sure I’d like the syrup so I did two like that and two with cinnamon sugar only. So good.
