I have two red foots that I purchased from Shadow's Reptiles in Miami about 4 years ago when they were hatchlings. They are great pets and, as you said, the perfect size. It has been fun to watch them grow and I recently built them a much larger outdoor enclosure that they really seem to be enjoying. Preparing their meals is fun because they eat such a wide variety of foods, including hibiscus leaves and blooms, apuntia cactus, dandelion greens, lettuce, kale, collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, meal worms, the occasional chicken heart, apples, mangoes, grapes, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, mushrooms (a favorite), and more. It recently became obvious that I have a male and a female. I hadn't planned on being a tortoise breeder, but who knows?
