- The Athens Flea Market at Monastiraki, in Athens, Greece. Shopping in Athens is a favorite pastime for tourists and Athenians and one of the best places to buy just about anything is the Flea Market at Monastiraki. The Athens Flea Market at Monastiraki becomes a flea market on Sundays when some of the stores close and people bring tables and carpets and sell all kinds of stuff from junk to antiques. The rest of the week, The Athens Flea Market at Monastiraki is more like a small bazaar. Most of the shops at The Athens Flea Market at Monastiraki are pretty conventional and sell the same stuff you find in the tourist shops on the islands, some of it made in Greece and some made in China. There are good jewelry stores at the Athens Flea Market at Monastiraki with handmade gold and silver pieces and fake jewelry stores with "handmade" gold and silver pieces, and most people won't be able to tell the difference.

Love this video. I’ll be visiting Greece in January-fingers crossed nothing bad happens with travel plans. I think I might be a few things at the flea market I know I’ll be focusing on locally made items.

Hi! Does anyone know where there are CHEAP SOUVENIRS near the cruise ships terminal port? Are souvenirs like postcards, magnets, stickers, keychains for 1 euro in Greece? If not, then how much are they? Are other items like charm pendants for 1 euro? What about the cost of cheap statues of famous landmarks? What about pins and their cost? Are there cheap coin purses or deck of cards? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks for you help.
Hi, you can find such places both in Piraeus (the city of the cruise ship terminal port) and in Athens. When the ship arrives, walk towards the tallest building at the port (24 or so floors, you cannot miss it) and around it there are several souvenir shops selling inexpensive souvenirs for about 1 Euro. For greater variety, take the metro (subway) which is almost behind this tall building and after 20-25 minutes get off at the Monastiraki station, there is a very large market there to find pins, magnets, etc, very cheaply..
