08:04 Gunn didn't know he was going to be in the credits at first, the team of animators did it first and surprised him with it, he did obviously allow it but it wasn't him being vain that he must be included. it was mentioned in one of the interview videos within this week
@@whitepaint7870How is it a weird thing to keep in, or you just salty to be salty. Like how does a literal 3 second appearance of him in the intro effect you in any way
Frankenstein fing the Bride creeped me out. He cheated on his wife with what is essentially pieces of dead women that he brought to life who was technically also recently born. Not to mention stabbing his first creation in the back. I'm not saying it's bad, I like the story, but damn is it weird when you think about it.
Ye, I sort of understand the logic behind the Monster killing Frankenstein. Frankenstein was a creep through and through, adding darkness in The Bride's story.
Ted Knight.... The original Starman.... Got terminal cancer from Doctor Phosphorus after getting a burn that was no more than what than Flag got in this. So this may not go well.
I don’t want to glaze Gunn but damn, he sure knows how to turn simple story methods and tells them in a very deep and interesting manner. The Bride’s backstory is so simple but effective and it just hooks you right into the tragedy of it all. Now I’m curious to see how the others dealt with their past before their grand mission
Gunn has said that the 2021 Suicide Squad film is cannon to his DCU universe but that the Justice League cameo at the end of Peacemaker isn't and will be explained in season 2.
G.I. Robot's dossier is a "Hollerith card," a card which used punched out squares to encode letters, numbers, and some symbols as well. It was used since around 1896, used in tabulation machines and in the WWII era by Central Bureau in Australia, Bletchley Park in England for cryptography and decryption efforts, and in Nazi Germany for census data. It was commonly used in early computers for programming in various languages including FORTRAN and COBOL. So, it makes sense in a way that his dossier is on such a card.
10:55 The guard gleefully shouting “WAZZUP!” when he pushes down on the gas pedal as the gang goes to rescue Nina and the Bride in the second episode is the joke I’ve found funniest so far.
The thing that makes me happy about Creatures Commando’s opening intro is that it uses a different version of Moliendo Café from the Romanian Balkan brass band Fanfare Ciocărlia The song originally came from Venezuelan 🇻🇪 musician Hugo Blanco I feel represented knowing that Gunn used a song that originated from my home country in one of his DCU productions🥲🤩
I really liked the first 2 episodes, I love the characters and especially the Bride. The scenes of characters doing the thing really caught me off guard. I’m honestly surprised the episodes are rated M in Australia
At first, i thought the show was interesting. I was not a big fan of the roster, but the actors brought them to life. G I robot is currently my favorite love him so much
Liked the first episode a good bit and the whole Dr Phosphorus and Flag fight elevated it a ton and I absolutely loved the second episode it was a big step up imo
I'm sure I'm gonna be in the minority, but I am not feeling David Harbour's performance so far. Aside from that, I did enjoy these first 2 episodes. I look forward to what's to come.
I'm pretty sure G.I. Robot and Frankenstein and The Bride didn't meet during WWII, because Frankenstein and The Bride were clearly fighting on the East Front, while G.I. Robot only is known to have fought on the West Front. Remember: Frankenstein and The Bride were from Eastern Europe, while G.I. Robot was in the U.S. Army and the barely entered Eastern Europe during the war. The U.S. Army did however liberate the Czechoslovakian city of Pilzen, so there is a very, very slight chance they met, but I just think it's unlikely.
You were really close to pointing this out and missed it, but the magazine title of "Young Love" is also a reference to the series of romance comics that DC published during the 1950s and 60s back when superhero comics were on the decline after World War II.

Gi robot could have went to u.s.s.r to kill nazi who went to u.s.s.r during the project paper clip or killed nazis in the gulags. (Probably got arrested for nazi he killed on u.s side during project paper clip.)
Love the idea that the Princess is Clayface, it would be so hilarious and confirms that Clayface is GILF lover, LOL Or The Princess is that thirsty & potentially evil and its the Queen that is Clayface
Alan Tudyk playing clayface and phosphorus means one of these characters won’t appear in live action? 😢 they said the same actor will play the live action as well as the animated version I’d like to see them both in live action
Apparently Gunn isn’t the one who put himself in the intro. He says some of the animators did this behind his back as a joke and he just kept it in.
lol
This feels SO much like something a Gunn team would do, thank you so much for sharing this and elevating that animation for me forevermore 💛

I love how connected and lived in the DCU feels already

It's honestly insane that two episodes did more world building than anything that came before...
I agreed I never thought Gunn can be this good
I liked the first episode a lot, but i loved that second episode! Great storytelling and already some really solid world-building. Bring on ep. 3!

Also not only that but the bride was kind of like a daughter to Frankenstein so that makes it more gross and weird
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this was really weird.
Just doing it right in front of the monster too
Greek Mythology is WAY weirder
I don't know if anyone still remembers but David harbour was in the 2016 suicide squad film.
What role!?

Oh dang! I member! He was a general or some military officer

Next episode will be about GI Robot!!!🗣️
This series is also a good way to do world building without cramming stuff into a movie.
Good first episodes. Explained the canon and the cast seems solid.
0:22 The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are canon, because Rick Flag Sr. Mentions his son died and he died in The Suicide Squad by Peacemaker
