Enjoying this as ever Gordon. As well as getting a great education, Oscar is also proving a great help to you.

He is having a ball and yes it is fantastic to have his help and his company when working on the Fergie. I couldn't be happier. 😊

@@WaterhouseForde Be very thankful for a great relationship with your son. Despite trying all my life, my father didn't like me. Wouldn't see me on his death bed at the hospital only 150 yards from where I live.

Oh man that is so sad! I can't get my head around that. 😟

Hello Gordon & Oscar. Not sure how you removed the lift arms working on the bench. With everything stripped and hydraulic pump removed, I would have placed the hydraulic lift cover back on the case and bolted it down with at least four bolts. Now you have a solid platform. Squirt a liberal amount of WD40 or "Nut Cracker" on the splines and hopefully the arms will slide off the shaft. Heating the lift arms might also work. I know this is a late comment, but someone else may benefit. I have struggled many times with something, then another person walks over and provides the tip/trick that makes the job easier, and there has been occasions when I have offered the magic tip. Thanks Charles, this is why I love people sharing their thoughts and ideas with us. It hopefully helps someone down the line. We did try exactly as you suggest but even that didn’t work. They were really stuck!! 👍😉
