My only issue with this is it appears you are reinstalling everything dry.
Orings should always be installed with some kind of lubricant as well as all the pistons. Everything.
It makes things easier to put together and helps keep down any damage from dry parts when there isnt any oil flowing yet on initial start up.
Other than that great job. Great to see someone young with this much knowledge on farm equipment. New or old

I also volunteer at the local Guide Dogs Training facility and am constantly amazed by the sheer number of young kids her age that also come out volunteer and work hard. Very well presented and ironically this is what I needed years ago doing my HYD pump and cleaning debris out. Thank you for wearing work clothes and not a ridiculous bikini. Cheers from Australia

This is a very informative video. I no longer have my MF50, but if I did, you would have helped me repair the hydraulic pump. Nice video!

great job, however,......you need to be using oil on every install of every piece and seals for sure. Especially the rear PTO cover.

I would clean it before disassembly.but I guess we dont all have a pressure cleaners, and i would have a rag in my pocket to wipe my hands with, trying to hang on to slippery parts is not good when you could just wipe your hands to keeps them free of oil. it's a simple thing but if are doing this for a living you wouldn't even think about it.

Rachel, I congratulate you on a well organized and informative tutorial video on the rebuild of this hydraulic pump and control/actuator group. However, if you really want to take it to the next level, you need to literally "clean up your act". What I mean by this is that the assembly of any hydraulic system components must be done in a very clean environment with clean parts, clean tools and clean hands. This will take you to the level of a true professional in your trade and add another level of pride to your work. I am speaking from 40 plus years as a licensed Canadian HD mechanic 30 years of experience as a Caterpillar field service technician. Keep up the good work and keep improving. The world belongs to those who are not afraid to get their hands dirty.

As a hydraulics engineer I was thinking exactly the same thing as you. The lack of cleanliness on re-assembly was a bit cringeworthy, but otherwise a very professional and beautifully produced video and a credit to Rachel.
