In this tutorial, we'll take a look at how to create a low poly mountain landscape in Trapcode Mir, based on the "Creating Titles Using TypeMonkey" tutorial. We'll cover a lot of Mir's features, so this will be a great getting started tutorial for the plugin.

+Nicolasverune Games Thank you!
your voice is sexy
This helped me a lot! How can you make it audio reactive?
How to make those mountains look smooth and how I can make the "fade in" last longer ? For like 3-5mins.
+Chillout Bear You can increase Size Y and make it long as much as you want
Thank you so much. It looks really nice
Thanks for your support!

Never mind it's in the Individual Amp & Freq in Fractal
thx :D
Great tutorial..
Sanen Kichu Thank you!
How did you get the camera to pan over the Landscape ?
Holy shit this is one great tut
Thank you Hieu!
really thanks for tutorial!... :)
Thank you!
How did you get the text to flow with the low poly mountains? When I try adding a camera, they don't follow the same z space.
waw :D Very nice tuto dude :')
Thank you dude!
You're welcome :)
very nice tutorial, now I know how they made the mointain landscape in porter robinsons sad machine lyric video! (Y)
Haha glad you found it useful!
en que version hay Plugin Mir ???? yo tengo 2014
Which animation preset do you use? I have trapcode mir, but nothing is shown when I try!
I cant see the background when I apply the plug in only a black background with that starting mir effect on it and my AE crashes a lot when I use those plug in, can anybody be kind enough to give any suggestion??:)
Awesome!! Too bad the trial version of Trapcode Mir has red markers on it when I render my video :'(
ai sim
At 2:42 when i try to put mir on it, it comes up with an error and ae crashes?
May want to contact Red Giant support for this.
Excellent tutorial, thank you! I'm stuck in the new version though, the fractal option doesn't show the Amplitude X Y Z option. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Version 2.0.0
+Roberio Moreira click on "individual amp & freq"
what?
Thank you so much mate haha I was wondering where that was
A great lesson. I subscribe. You can learn how to make a lyric video for typemonkey? Or if you did give me a link. Please be very grateful. Thanks again
I am having this error, "After Effects error: MIR: OpenGL error: Could not allocate textFBO (512) (25::241)". Anybody also having this error and has a solution? Thank you!
I dont have the fallof option
How can I make it react to audio?
+Evelate Music keyframe it xD
+Evelate Music You can use trapcode sound keys to convert the audio into key frames then export that data to null as reference. then simply parent the value you want to animate to respective value of the null.
7:59 I don't have amplitude Z in fractal?
Found it:
It's under "Individual amp and freq" in Fractal
thx dude
And DoF?
would i be possible to make like an infinite mountain landscape with an never ending camera zoom? for a music video or somehting? please help! :)
TooRecords You'd probably just have to make the size in Y a very large number, and do the same for X, and just play around with the settings to make it look good
Rubiks Edit okay yea thanks ill try! and do you know how to get it so foggy in the background? so that i like only see the mountain in the front?
Increase the fog amount I think, I'll check once i get on AE :)
Hey how can i get the back of the landscape so awesomely foggy and blurry?
TooRecords Use the fog feature in Mir and adjust the distance :)
VinhSon Nguyen okay thank you! :)
Hello! I want to make a video with trapcode mir but it does not work on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB.
I'm finished ? =(
Check with Red Giant support!
It's because you're on a MacBook with integrated graphics. Mir needs a dedicated GPU due to how it's rendering is based. If you change the view to wireframe you will still be able to see it though just not with the particle-y stuff
is it possible to feed audio into this?
Absolutely, view my Audio Spectrum tutorial to learn how to extract audio and animate properties with it. Or look at Trapcode Soundkeys
My Mir doesn't seem to be 3D. when you made your Mir, it was 3D immediately, but with me, I can only see it as 2D. Any help?
Did you make a Camera? Mir is 100% 3D
I'll try it
I figured it out. I'd clicked the Mir Layer to be 3D by accident. When I ticked it off, Mir was 3D
Is there a way to make the Mountains look like....real mountains. I mean like with a lot of Polygons? I would really appreciate a answer.
+VideoGP4 don't think so its too complicated
Theoretically there is a way to create everything in the world 1:1, but most likely only with an insane amount of particles, no PC would be able to render that (but the probably possible quantum PC)
Draken
rendering core and rendering server networks will be able too
JonnyBlack| ραѕѕισηαтє є∂ιтѕ Depends on the detail of the landscape, if it has moving trees while every tree is fully moving, they probably cant, or would take a huge amount of time
If you look up imagine dragons wallpaper i think they also used this in of of the pictures
Dang, good observation. They do look very similar!
i cant find gradient map on my after effect :c
EpicBros43 There's no Gradient Map, you create a Gradient Map
VinhSon Nguyen i meant gradient ramp.. sorry
bergen?
I don't have the amplitude options?
solved
how?
+ChillYourSpeakers Can't quite remember but I think they were in a folder inside the folder
Adam Creeper Alright, thanks anyways.
yep, It's called Individual Amp & Freq
That’s it?
camera fucked up
this is cool but you talk realllllllly fast and i can't keep up!
So much awesomeness!
Vernard Fields Thank you!
