I'm currently in the market to upgrade my MacBook Pro, I'm just trying to decide on wether I should wait for the Skylake models, or if I should just pull the trigger and get their current model.

Can you use Trapcode tao to create a non-abstract 3D model? Like simple 3D model.
thx for the overview... does it interact with AE 3D Objects or is it like Particular?
For the built in environment under image based lighting is it possible to create custom environments? Like based on an image or different layers within the composition. If so how?
are there more 3d options available here than in the particular 2.5 update? if not, then it seems like parenting an emitter to a stroke would be a nearly complete workaround

+Raj Sharma Not that I know of, but what kind of think would you want to do with text + Tao? Maybe if you could create masks from text, and use those paths with Tao.

Is there anyone who can help me with this? I'm creating a simple custom path and I'm repeating it a few times. Then I want all af the clones to rotate around their own axis. I cannot figure out how. I can make them rotate but they rotate around the original path.

Tao is a paid plugin from Red Giant, you won't have it by default.

Could you make a video on a solution the absolutely awful lens depth in after effects? It works just fine in photos hop but however in afters effects it is the worst looking monstrosity I have ever seen.

when working with an alpha channel after a 3d render, I try to add lens depth to add depth of field and the results are awful, however the lens effect in photoshop is flawless
