Hm... 1.5 dci. I have the third car with that engine. The 2008, the 2011 and 2016 edition. The only malfunction on the engine was a one single injector change, due to non usage of the car in the time of COVID. No issues with DPF filter, no issues with the clutch (up to 230000). The issues you are describing are common in older generations (older than 2008).

I bougth a used 2011 1.6 Dci 130 HP with 155000 km and now 2 years after still almost zero problems. Only problem at 180000 Km the intercooler plastic pipe blown and motor entered safe mode. Replaced pipe (120 €) and everything ok.
    Advice use only good diesel.

Hi, I'm purchasing a used 2010 1L5 110 HP automatic with 167 000 km, any things I should look out for and maybe give it new life from the start, other than premium diesel. Thanks.

I dont know that engine very well but in a used car you should hallways check the timing belt or replace it. Older 1.5 dci dci used to have very know problems that were corrected after 2010. You should check if your engine is from the new ones.

Have a 2013 grand Scenic 1.6dci with 76,000 miles on it serviced yearly and so far no problems whatsoever. Have only had to replace the glow plugs.

I bought a new Grand Scenic III in 2011, 1.5 Dci. We drove together for 300 thousands kilometers. Wonderful. I only replaced friction once and transmission chains twice (at 100 thousand and 200 thousand kilometers) due to normal wear. I also changes the GPS lever because my engineer to be (!) daughter decided she needed to dismount it to see how gears worked. I'm very sad that I have to sell it now. It's been the best car I ever had. My next car will be Renault Austral - Full hybrid. Hope it will be as good as my Grand Scenic. So, if you happen to see a Scenic which has around 100 thousands kilometers, go for it.

The 1.6 Dci is the most reliable of Renault diesel powered units no major issues found as yet unlike the rest of their power units.

I agreed, I had to learn the hard way with the 2 drive belt breaks in the 1.5dci. 1.6DCI is chain.

Hello I have the 2016 III grand scenic 1.5 DCI. The spanner is on the dash and error says check injectors. But there is no loss of power or performance. Fuel consumption is good. Could it be the sensor is damaged? Fuel is from South Africa?
    any help appreciated

So is the 2.0 16v petrol CVT 140 a good option? From what I understood the spark plugs has to be tightened at the correct torque and the CVT lubricant must be flushed every 30-40.000km, is it?
    Otherwise no weaknesses?

Hi do you have any idea if EDC gearbox oil needs changing at all? Can't find it on the manual book.

I have a EDC 1.5 DCI and consulted to experts and say "Yes it needs"
Every 60.000 Kms would be nice.
