So many false information. I owned 2 early models, and still own a 2001 1.8T model. They are not reliable as you state. Electronics had a lot of issues on first models due to water getting into automatic gearbox control unit. Also central locking unit was a common issue, as it was sitting in the lowest spot under the seat and was also prone to water damage. Automatic gearboxes had separate oil for diffs. It was only one liter of oil, which often disappeared after shaft seals were gone due to high mileage. Automatic gearbox also loosing fluid due to corrosion. Although early models were bulletproof to corrosion, the post 2001 are complete disaster on corrosion. My current one needed welding on few spots already. post 2001 1.8T engine was known to have issues with oil pickup pipe getting clogged, which eventually damage the engine. Inner CV joints prone to wear, which then lead to excessive vibration when driving in high speeds. 6 speed gearboxes for diesel engines are known for their issues. Injectors on later diesel engines also a common problem. Interior plastics deteriorating with years and eventually everything starts falling apart. Same with cloth material on door panels and sealing. Shock absorber bolts getting corroded and almost impossible to undo due to very poor design. The only big advantage of these cars are insanely simple, versatile and huge interior space. Also they handle like a normal size passenger car. I used this vehicle to transport heavy loads, as a people carrier and even as a camper. I still own one due to it's versatility, but not reliability.

I bought one 5 door 4x4, 105 hp version from 2005 in a very good condition mecanicly (was kept by an old guy in garagge). A bit rust on the bottom, here and there (treated it already), on the body some superficial rust dents, but nothing serious, but for a 19 yeas old car... what more expectation to have? Tried it in variuos terrain. On the road behaves very well till 110 km/h with a 7 l consumption. It not accelerate like my 2004 1.4 l Civic, but on regullar uppword serpentine road has more power (I live in a small mountain side town). It's ideal for calm persons. Tested it in mountain-forest- muddy-snowy terrain with regullar winter tires, it behaves beyond my expectation. The 4x4 works very well. It's a relayable car in various situations (but do not expect to do hard off road with it. It's not built for such) Very satisfied with it till now.

Is D3 more reliable than D2?

I love mine. It's a 2010, got 244,000 miles on it. It's got some problems but I get the oil changed and it keeps going.

I have a 2010 EX35. Replaced radiator, steering column and had 1 wheel bearing replaced. But runs great! The only other issue I'm trying to figure out right now is the headlights have become dim. Replaced bulbs and ballasts but that not the issue. No one seems to be able to figure it out.

Driving my BMW X1 E84 18i sdrive 2010 model for 14 years now .I only change the fuel pump, alternator, vacuum oil and the front suspension only. It is now on 280 000km on clock .from south Africa and it is still running good.

I absolutly agree with the most of you. I am a cvt Juke victim from germany. Had a 2015 juke with 99.000 km. cvt fail totally. Repair cost are more than 11.500-, Euro. Sometime ago, the Nissan-dealer told me, a cvt-oilfluid chance is not necessary. Crap all over. Never ever Nissan again.

My wife's 07 1.3 has 148k only, really only small thing to do that normal for car maintenance. This december coming ill be doing hi milage inspections for a piece of mind. Just the petrol pump now and then making funny sound, not to expensive to replace should that time come. All i wonder, whats the best oil to run in this car. My vw tdi oil atleast 40% more expensive but that old lady keeps on running 400k now and no wear issues. Both cars run manufacturer spec oil from day one.
