    I discovered this bag over the weekend and was immediately interested. Thank you for actually covering the front zipper section, I wasn't aware that was a feature of the GR2. Probably going to order one of these.

    I hope they'll do a 1000d with 500d on body contact areas like the back padding and straps in the future.

    How tall are you? I live the idea of the additional compartments, but am concerned that the shorter size will look silly on me (I'm 6'2").

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      6'1" but I usually go with smaller rucks. EDC is 15L bullet. Use 21L Rucker 3.0 for rucking. So, my default is usually the smaller ones. Though, I love the 40L for travel. My short wife can only use the 34L.

    Great review! How is the weight with the new 500d material?

      3.5 pounds. Feels good.

    When you had the bag lying down at around 7:00, the base looked really large from the back panel to the front (i.e. the depth). How deep does that measure? Their website says 7.25 inches but in reality I find these things tend to differ!
    I have an Evergoods CTB26 which I am considering selling in order to get a GR2 26l, as I feel the GR2 might be more comfortable under heavier loads (as well as being slightly less tall). Do you have experience of the CTB26? Is the GR2 an overall more compact size in your opinion?

    How do you like the GR2 26L in 500D after a year? Do you think the 1000D would have been a better option?
    Also, I noticed the GR2 you have wasn’t able to stand up straight on its own. Was it the way you packed it?

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use it every day as a gym bag. It’s perfect lots of space for my massage gun change of clothes, water, bottles, jump rope, and every other miscellaneous toy. I need for the gym. 500 vs 1000d is neither here nor there for me. As for the tilt, that’s pretty standard on goruck’s bags. I can’t remember the logic behind it, but they all do that. Because of the shape of the 26 L GR2, it does seem a little more exaggerated.

    How did you make the bag stand? Mine is also 500D GR2 26L, but won't stand at all. Thanks!

    Which one is better for 2 days camping or 4-5 days of travelling ? Gr1 26L or GR2 34 L ?
    I am 5 ft 9 inches tall . what do you recommend . I personally love to buy GR1 26 L but those extra pockets are essetial. I feel GR 2 would be bit bulkier in depth . whats your suggestion ?

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Could go either way on that based on your packing style. I've seen folks use the 26L for 5 day trips. If you like to bring extras or like compartments, GR2 is the way to go.

      You can send it into their SCARS department and have them added.

    Would you now use this as a weekend trip bag over your GR1 26L? I have a GR1 26L that I use for weekend trips but I do like that I could probably fit some packing cubes into the main compartment and have other items (ipad, book , etc) in the front compartment.

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't used it for travel. But, I think for a weekend trip it could be a great bag. While I would use my GR1 for longer trips, not sure I'd consider this one. It does feel like some space is lost with all the pockets etc built into the GR2. But, for short trip, could be great.

    Do you think the 500D are as durable as 1000D? whats your thoughts?

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think so, but that is just speculation. I don't plan on doing anything crazy with it, so I'm not too worried.

    I am 5 ft 8 inches , will gr2 34 l fit on my back . Goruch suggest on their website that if you are 5'8" or less , go for 34 L and so on . Is that true ? Also I wanna choose between gr2 34 L or Gr1 26 lit . What do you recomend

      Hey, what did you end up with? I’m in the same position and considering the 34 for EDC, but worried it’ll be too big on my frame. 5’7, pretty broad shouldered. Thanks!

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  ปีที่แล้ว

      My wife has a 34L GR2. It is big, but she likes it. 26L is only a little taller.

    Do you prefer this over the GR1 21l?

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Really depends on if you prefer compartments or not. I’m currently carrying GR1 21L for EDC. But, if I needed/wanted compartments, this would be the go to for sure.

  • @jaredweiman2987

    This is probably what the GR1 should have been tbh.

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah. The GR1 is perfect for so many things. The GR2 26L is perfect for those that want smaller but love compartmentalization.
