    Great vid. Took the GR2 26L on a 5-day trip to the Grand Canyon back in April. Just came back from a 5-day trip to Mexico City with the GR1 26L. Hands down, the GR1 26L carried a lot better… the thinner profile and simple design was such a treat to use. With the same amount of travel gear, GR1 didn’t feel overstuffed like the GR2 did.

      Nice feedback. I honestly never thought of the 26L GR2 for travel… even though I use the 26L GR1 for it. The compact design just makes me feel like it is smaller. Thanks for sharing your take!

    Awesome video. Thanks for taking the time to throw it together! I’m debating a GR2 26L 500d vs Kaidan for edc with tablet/laptop for school/work + the occasional kid’s gear (because kids ha ha). Also will be my travel bag. I like to one bag and I’m trying to have a hybrid bag to do it all
    What would be some of the trade offs of x-pac and what applications would I want it over cordura. Is it mainly aesthetics, weight, and waterproof?

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You cover the main differences. But, based on your post you’re looking at a 26L GR2 vs 34L. So, I think the question is how much space do you want? That may help guide you better.
      Personally, I’d go with which one you aesthetically like the most (unless there is something specific you’re wanting/needing). If it was me, between those 2, I’d go Kaidan. While I love and use the 26L GR2 as a gym bag, it is a little too much of a tortoise shell. I wouldn’t want to carry it as EDC. But, that’s more a personal aesthetic preference.

    • @justinscarbrough448
      @justinscarbrough448 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah good point. You think the 34L would look better under-filled than the 26L would more on the packed out end of the spectrum?
      Thinking about travel: At most it would be 5 days worth. We typically go places with laundry facilities so I just do laundry if we are gone longer so 34L should be plenty I would think

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@justinscarbrough448 either one will be under filled with what you have for EDC. I find 15l bullet is all most anyone needs for edc. I think the Kaidan is a better looking ruck. I’d personally choose it for that reason.

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably not a great idea on the regular. However, I might do it if my rock was particularly nasty. When I do wash them, I typically do it by hand with some dish soap and a brush.

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I soaked it in the tub in hot water and then used a dish brush to scrub it with some dish soap. Tub was NASTY after. Not a too big of a hassle, but unload, wash, leave outside to dry… just takes time. Wouldn’t want to do it very often.

    Hey, I hope it's ok to ask here. I'm new to this rucking concept but am wondering why people are choosing sacks over vests? Is it the added function of the sack? I'd be using this solely for the exercise, would you suggest a sack over a vest?

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      "Rucking" finds its roots in the military when soldiers load up their bags and move them from point A to B. So, "rucking" is generally done with a backpack (aka: ruck). That said, weight is weigh, so a vest can accomplish the same stimulus. The advantage of a ruck vs a vest is the ability to carry things like a water source, extra gear/snacks, and the bag can be used for other things besides rucking. A vest really only serves one purpose: add weight. I'd add that if you get the Rucker, the additional handles allow you add variety to your training by using the ruck for weighted exercises like you'd find on ruckwod.com - These would be difficult to do with only a vest. -- Hope that helps.
