I disagree, the ending of Reunion was way sadder, mostly due to so much senseless death for the purpose of meaningless politics. Also I can't help feeling way less sorry for Theresa considering she didn't take charge of the Royal Court when she totally could've and she could've helped Babel's PR by having large public speaking events to talk to her citizens about how violence was dooming their race. But instead she did none of that and embraced violence in the end.
How would she be able to take charge of royal court? The only person who truly supports her ideals was Logos mom while everyone else in the court including her own brother saw the only way to free their people was through waging wars against Terra rather than coexist with them.And the sarkaz have suffered wandering for thousands of years,their home always get destroyed when they rebuilt it because all of Terra nations view them as threat not ever giving them any chances to thrive, their hatred understandably isn't easily going to be swayed by words,considering Babel was opposed by the majority of sarkaz giving speeches wouldn't help much.What Theresa lacked was time,not enough time for the efforts of Babel to bring enough change (more education,medical help,tech etc) while Theresis and the royal court was already planning to gather everyone to Londonium for war,Theresa couldn't change her people minds with mere words and she knew it that's why all she could do was hope for all who decided to go to return safely, her ideals have always been to coexist peacefully and cure oripathy not violence like theresis
