Ive started playing about a year ago and what i can say so far is that Arknights is the most brain straining gacha ever made. Even if you have very strong meta defining characters, one wrong placement or badly timed skill activation and thats it your entire squad gets exploded, you loose and you Know its not a numbers check like most other gachas, its a skill issue.
it's great to finally clear stage many-many failed attempts, only go on youtube and see someone doing the same stage with some obscure nicheknights or with low-level operators "it's not about the meta, it's about the brain juice"
That last challenge map against Dolly was absolute hell and nearly drove me insane. There is just so many elements to keep track of. Isolating the units from the spreading purple, managing where the lines land, distributing the pepsi bottles to break the boss in a smart fashion, dealing with the most powerful mages known to man (coincidentally a sheep with a fancy hat).
One thing I would've liked to see discussed is what Arknights has done to improve the new player experience (i.e. annually adding 5* selector tickets, making past events and their unique rewards permanently available, re-releasing past skins, updating the starter banner operators) and how that compares with some of the other games that you've been doing "New Player Experience" videos on. Given that you're uniquely situated to compare these things where most of us probably won't invest the time it takes to try a lot of older games for the 1st time. In terms of new operators making content trivial, there's extremely challenging content in the game no matter what operators you own or how much investment you've put into them. There are operators who are subjectively stronger than others and will make some content less difficult so maybe that reduces the overall quantity of challenging content. I feel like the people making the statements weren't giving these nuances and disclaimers and may not even be aware of them nor experienced it themselves but are just regurgitating rhetoric. In terms of the story the long winded delivery was a style choice and culturally very popular in Asia whereas western countries value concise efficient writing. Though I will say that the first few chapters localization was done poorly and they never went back and redid it. The translation on current material is of a much higher quality. For my slur I've selected: Pantywaist.
What is missing for new players is CC reruns. Seriously, this is something that I do not understand how they are not able to implement or why it has not been implemented.
that would be nice, but i think the 5* starter characters are still good, they teacher the player there respected architypes (Classes) and they are more user friendly unlike Ines, Muelssyse and others that i cant remember
@@shionuzuki5549 Technically you can play every CC map in the rotating daily challenge but it is a very watered down experience. The rewards are brought back on CN but we still have to wait for that on global.
Yeah yeah. Until you factor in that you need 3 thousand pulls for past limited 6 stars that is :) They wont help new players much unless they fix the damn limited system
@@kyarumomochi5146 Except all the Limited characters are pretty much luxury upgrades? The most useful one that isn't easily replaceable is Skadi the Corrupting Heart, and even then there are lots of guides on how to clear the content that don't use her. Maybe you could say Texas the Omertosa and Kirin Yato for burst DPS, but I've rarely *needed* them. You can also borrow the Limited units for challenge stages, which is what I did with Texas and Yato alter.
The meta ops trivializing the game is true for the old content that's a lot easier, but the newer content will force the vast majority of players to actually think and strategize or even look up a guide even if you bring the most broken ops in the game. For reference I have a character called "Horn" who is a "Fortress Defender" which basically means she does AOE ranged attacks from the back line, who can still be used as a lane holder and is considered one of the more meta defenders for her insane damage and good survivability. *At E2lvl90 she has 3367Hp, can revive at the cost of half her total HP, 1006Atk, and 620Def and can still be taken out in 2-4 hits and do very little damage if I don't comply to the events rules in the current event with Ejia/Swire Alter. While she can still perform very well I have to strategize on where to place her, how I'll manage the in game mechanic so she isn't deleted or does like 200 damage, and how much she costs to Deploy along with the 11 other characters I bring to a stage where I have to think about the order in which of who gets deployed first so that the enemies target my defenders and not my healers/snipers/supports, AND the timing of all their skills.* While bringing every Meta op will make a lot of the content easier, it's still by no means "place character and win" unless you stop to think and change your strategy. Even with the most broken operators like TexasAlter or YatoAlter will only get you so far unless you have some type of plan.
Very few operators are universally busted anyway. Surtr is strong but can't hit air. Chalter is strong, but DP is pretty high and positioning her isn't easy. Thorns is strong, but has pretty long windup. Texas and Yato alter are probably the 2 operators that can be used reliably on any stage. But even those 2 on the same squad with a bunch of other meta operators didn't trivialize the Eyja event stages.
@@JustSmileyFace... Yeah this is why it doesn't track when people say strong operators trivialize content. I mean they trivialize content that's not supposed to be hard.
Well, to a certain degree I will agree with some points but on the other hand, those busted ops like surtr, Chen alter, texas/yato etc. They are busted maybe not because they trivialize the game but because they let you ignore key mechanics of the game. Ejya alter basicly negates ANY elemental dmg no matter how much there is, she can stop four of those under tides shrieker flowers from filling up the elemental bar on an op on her own. Surtr can always do insane dmg and ignores the well thought out game mechanic of ops dying so no matter how badly you‘ll place her she is GUARANTEED to do something of worth. Take the recent event, even if the sheep were in their purple clouds and your ops being bombarded by four sheep wizards surtr WILL get her dmg in no matter what even through their dmg reduction...so she ignores the mechanics. So while those aren‘t insta-win buttons per se, they‘ll definitely let you ignore the mechanics of any event.
@@ebering4.039 Yes but for the sheep stages in particular it doesnt really matter whether you have the busted units or not (except SL-S-5) since the moment you do the cloud tactic right the sheeps just cease to exist from this plane of reality.
one of the biggest thing i enjoy about the gameplay is that the devs keeps making a whole new gimmick and design for every event, and varied gamemode, the roguelike is amazing enough but then they do the survival exploration with RA which can be its own game, even the coop was great if not for the poor connection, and ofc others gamemode that still use the core tower defense mechanic, i would personally proudly put it as the best tower defense i ever played, yes even above bloonTD cause all the content i've been experiencing since launch has been enjoyable, other than the gacha part arknights is what i wanted in a game
Same. Returning Dokutah here, and I was quite confused by Stationary Security Service, until I realized that it's a CCG deck building mechanic wrapped around the core tower defense game, with Operators randomly drawn from your 'deck' into your 'hand'. Once I got the hang of it, I really started enjoying it, although Integrated Strategies (the roguelike) is still my favorite game mode.
Let's check what we got Main story Side Story (intermezzi included because almost the same) Annihilation Stationary Security Service (SSS) Intergated Strategies (IS) Coop (got yeeted) Trials for Navigators (TN) Reclamation Algorithm (RA-NO) Contigency Contract (CC) Design of Strife (about to come out to EN)
@@JustSmileyFace...Ugh I wish Trials for Navigator become permanent afterthe event. It is fun especially for testing operator in boss rush condition.
14:37 A point I'd like to make regarding a newer player being behind other players is that Arknights has made a lot of its previous events permanently available. So, a newer player will eventually be able to get all the rewards from the previously ran events (other than event shop currency stuff) and catch up for the most part. Many of the past events are currently available to play from the side story and intermezzi sections. The rewards for doing those side events also give the welfare that was originally released during that event at maximum potentials. So, if a new player joins the game and misses some event happening at that time due to not being strong enough for it, there's not much fomo regarding the event since they're guaranteed to be able to do it in the future and get the welfares after the event is made permanent.
2:35 bruh getting a 5 star in the first pull is already very lucky, you have no guarantee in your first pull(most ppl just get a 4 star) 10:50 there are actually 5 types of banners here... The starter, the LIMITED(with limited ops), the single-rate up(ops from events get a rate up on release and a single rerun), the standard(2 rate ups), the kernal EDIT: Banner types that did not appear in the video are Joint Operation(only the 4 rate up 6 stars can be summoned), C&R (the first 6 star is guaranteed new), and main story warm-up banner( ~3 6 star rate ups that is related to the main story)
Not exactly true on the single rate up banner, only normal size events get a rerun, story chapters which also have a single rate up do not get reruns, also you probably should've included the joint op/front that was banners, which for anyone who doesn't know and may read this are the ones that will only give you one of the rate up 6*
@@Z_04_Q ur right about the single rate up I've only included 5 banner types bc that's the 5 that is shown in the video But yeah there's also the new year? Banner where your first 6 star is guaranteed to be a new
I can confirm, the first ever gacha pull is not always a 5star. I stared an alt a while ago to play a niche without hogging my main account's resources. And the forced pull gave me a 4star, matterhorn specifically. But I don't judge or blame for thinking the first pull would do that, it'd be a good tactic to get people hooked om the gacha.
they tackled the nuisance of having to activate your auto deploy every run! with the upcoming 4.5 anniversary we get a feature which lets us automatically start up to 6 consecutive runs. yea they can't be skipped but 6 runs without you needing to be there is still good qol. otherwise the points you brought up are understandable and valid👍
How thoughtful of them to finally add a QoL feature that should've been added a long time ago and even then, you still have to mindlessly leave your device on to afk farm. It's certainly an improvement, but why not just add a sweep function that instantly clears farming stages and saves the player much more time? And before anyone says "but FGO doesn't have any QoL and it's older", please consider how low of a standard that is and why you'd want to settle for less convenience instead of more. Any gacha in 2024 should, at minimum, have a sweep function or at least a multiplier so you can clear a stage once and receive rewards as if you'd cleared it x number of times. Arknights has a lot of good things going for it but respecting players' time isn't one of them. I just don't understand why.
@@WadeWontsonsweep function would avoid the need to clear a stage in a secure and reliable way in order to farm it. Plus it doesn't take much effort to make continuous auto have zero impact on your time. For example I like to set it up before I go take a shower in the morning, then once I'm done with that it's finished
@@idoltrash2353 Still a very flimsy reason to have the current system instead of a sweep function though. By your logic, HG should make everyone manually deploy operators every single time when farming, yknow, to reaaally make sure you can truly clear stages in a secure and reliable way without even needing to depend on auto-deploy. Sarcasm aside, this is a gacha game and it shouldn't demand this much of my device time for afk farming, regardless of whether my schedule permits me to multitask or not. I will die on this hill and anyone who says otherwise is, frankly, either coping very hard or is willing to do pointless things for a game that doesn't care for their time. I'm sorry, I really can't see how else anyone can reasonably justify this.
@@WadeWontson I'll ignore your pointless hyperbolic extension of my logic. I get you probably have ADHD or something but if setting up an auto stage to farm while you make breakfast or whatever is too much for you then I'd suggest arknights is the least of your issues.
Arknights is the only game that stays on my device for months without ever thinking of deleting it. That's how the game took me in and made me stay in willingly. I am a barely 5 months player and I never missed a day of login.. Arknights has a lot to offer especially for me who is catching up with the years of contents I have yet to uncover and the side stories and the main story to read on. Arknights make me think while the game is on while other game apps I played before makes me close out of boredom. I can be frustrated sometimes (skill issue) but then yt recommended me some AK angels on my 3rd week of playing. 😅 Atm, I don't see myself ever removing AK out of my device/life in the next 6 months...
Same experience here. Been playing for 1.33 years already and I'm likely to continue playing for another year or more. I'm at the point where I already cleared a majority of past and current content, but the upcoming characters still have a way of hooking me back for more.
Honestly more or less the same, and I've been soon three years here. Since the two previous events from when Who is real was released. Around May or June 2021 Since I started three different games that said month. And I honestly have skipped a event or two, ngl. But I mostly stay for the Gameplay, Posts, and maybe one day Ill dig down into the Lore rabbit hole beyond the first three main chapters whose Lore I kinda have a hold now. (From Alex to Patriot) I still have completed most side stories and in the main story on chapter 12 and chapter 8(I think) final Talulah battle.
idk why, but I've been playing for the past 4 years but I've never stopped completely, when I'm bored I take a break for at most 1 month after that I play again 😅
This was a great watch, not just because I'm also someone who is new to Arknights having played for a little over 3 months at this point. You have a great voice for this stuff and clearly put a lot of care into your analysis of games. Would love to see more from you
Arknights is the second mobile game ever to have made it into my phone for over a year. I love puzzle games, and I think that's the reason why Arknights oddly is a gacha game that fits me so well.
As a dedicated day one player, to sum up AK's gacha system is that you aren't gated from any content with just the 4-5 star characters albeit requires more strategy and it is also quite easy to get 6 stars. The difference is that it is harder to get a "specific" 6 star since the game uses a soft pity system and in bigger events a spark system (which in this case requires 200 pulls to redeem the event specific 6 star you want).
@konyako3773 this explains perfectly why I stopped playing, other than the ridiculously tedious farming and base management. Wanted to like the game but getting screwed over by bad RNG is a dealbreaker, along with not respecting my time.
I was really impressed by how much of a genius you were during your stage clears it truly surprised me because I watch lots of new players play this game. First of all you seemed to have little to no issue during tutorial stages (that's much more impressive than it sounds) and you didn't use friend operators and from what I watched your operators weren't really leveled enough to have an easy time dealing with bosses. Plus that shaw placement was something I've never seen before. I played that stage many times (both because it was fun and that I got stuck there for some time) but it never even entered my mind that you could push them from there. That was truly impressive.
Games now-a-days tend to be easy for some reason and that's exactly why I love arknights if you want difficulty it have difficulty especially later chapters and especially integrated strategies i have ptsd talking about that 😅 Yes there's is broken character who trivialise like 50% of the content but one easy solution I got is NOT TO USE THEM
Its true, you could just drop Saria and Mudrock and Archetto and rofl stomp basically anything the game can throw at you, esp if you hyper focus 100% of your resources into Z tier operators right out the gate, but I also dont feel compelled to do so. Like Vanilla is more annoying than she is effective, but you know what else shes low in? Deploy costs. Texas and Zima are vastly superior, duh, but theyre also 4 cost higher than Vanilla or Fang are, and it takes SO MUCH money to get Zima as tanky or efficient at DP gen as Fang. Sure, your 3 stars have a ceiling 4 feet high, but if you can clear a goal without stretching yourself thin, and -- the most important part -- you like Cardigan and Fang more than Texas and Mudrock, then you wont feel like a bad player for using the Pokemo-- Operators you prefer over the most efficient, powercrept and flashier/higher rarity Ops.
I think Arknights is a scary game because I no longer feel like playing 4 gacha games or more at the same time. Arknights is definitely enough to give me the satisfaction of an anime game, and Ex Astris later this year and probably Arknights: Endfield next, so I'm in heaven.
As someone who started playing this game about 10 days since global server launch, then quitting for 2-3 years and then returning fully 6 months ago, I can tell you that the game got way more interesting for me once I started reading the novel that is Arknights. Not just the lore, the gameplay and music, just all of it together made me realize how good this game is...because it's not really a game. It's everything but the game and it just does the right stuff for me. Sure, QoL features are like the lowest priority on HG's list, but it isn't so bad once you play it for few months. I pay so that we get more peak content. It's well worth it in my eyes. I really enjoy this culture we have Cheers!
After 4 years of gacha operators, the game's under severe pressure of powercreep, there are operators that trivialize roles or perform several roles exceptionally well, and some damage dealers that ignore any conception of arts damage/phys damage and AoE, they just blow up anything in their skill range.
Yeah, the early game of Arknights was really good, but they ruined with with Guardknights and the increasingly bullshit and unfun mechanics that they keep giving to bosses and stages. *Civilians* The Harold boss fight was the one that finally pushed me to quit the game. haha, snowballs go brr
Love the video, especially since you went past chp 0, which quite a few people who want to try the game, doesnt give it a chance to reach the strategizing parts. So thank you for that And one thing i would want to mention thats semi unique to arknights is almost all of the past events can be read and played any time in the menu. Like you can play the very first event released in arknights right now. As well as multiple other game modes and end content that doesnt require sanity (well in game that is, irl sanity is needed)
THIS. And not only can you replay those events for the lore ... You can like. Get the free operators from them too. Holy shit I found out way too late that Lava the Purgatory and Absinthe are literally free at *any* time once you reached ch 2.
Solid video, this was well put together on what your experience was as a new player of arknights. You got yourself a sub with how I liked this video was put together cause you really did make a bunch of good points about arknights from the pros and its cons of its game play. All of which I do agree with.
i used to play arknights since somewhere during it first release. At first i was thrilled, liked the mechanics and play style. However, after being introduced to the resource stages i went full burnt out very quickly because the amount of materials to farm as a beginner for me was a bit overwhelming, and also the fact that i was so used to a completely hands off experience from other gacha games. i came back a few months ago from a friend, it was a good decision because i finally rediscovered the joy and the thrill i used to have, but now with the fact that i overcame the burnt out feeling on the resource maps and started thriving since.
Biggest thing you gotta learn as a new player: 1. Learn the operator archetypes. Learn what each different class and subclass does. Additionally, learn what units have irreplaceable abilities and passives. Some units can do things no other ones can. 2. Play the map at least once using a practice ticket. You get a good feel for what units spawn a fan from where.
Actually, I think the story has considerably improved in almost every way since the start of the new story arc (chapter 9 onwards), which also includes the side stories. Yeah it's a bit long at times, especially if your looking for gameplay, but the writing seems much tighter
Thank you Ninja Kiwi for not turning BTD6 into an IAP fest. With reasonable unlock progession. And balancing everything around modes (CHIMPS/Ranked) that take away all advantages gained from IAPs.
Maybe arknights has its flaws but seeing people on a new account/fresh experience seems to always revive their channels. I think it's because every account is unique, FOR A LITTLE BIT, and that makes it interesting to see how they figure out events and what units they use. When a person has all the op units, it loses its interest. But I like seeing channels grow from new player stage attempts
I love Arknights. I started it September 2022, and I really do still love it. It isn't just a brainless gameplay experience like many other Gacha, and that's the most important part for me. After that is the awesome story and character designs. My personal opinion on the story is that it's really only long winded in the more poorly told early chapters where they seemingly still had to find their stride.
There’s a guy who shows how to do all of the maps with the low cost/free units. The 6 stars don’t trivialize anything other than very old content. I was having to think again around chapter like 7 using 6 stars I got after coming back only to find the solution is “bring Shaw.”
That's me when I look at the map of a stage before starting it. Does it have a hole? Yes. Do I pull or push into it? If push, Shaw. If pull, Rope. Slap a self-healing defender in front of said hole to choke the lane while the specialist charges, and that lane is held forever. Case in point: Chernobog Annihilation top lane, right side. Cardigan/Gummy + Shaw, the rest of the map is now my focus (Unless I need to top off Cardigan with her skill or until the armor guys show up and I'm forced to deploy a single caster to DPS them down). I've watched my other friends who started a new account recently try this and one of their solutions taught them how to use Instructors by placing them behind defenders. As a three/four year player, I never looked at the Instructor archetype because I would always push for Lords, but when they did that, I realized how to use Instructors for benefit... Which is still being a baseknight, but its nice to know that I can supply a defender with an instructor for additional physical damage support now, when I don't want to plop down Ayerscape/Arene/Midnight down to have fun.
I personally love Arknights since I'm a casual who likes to appreciate the art and story. And of course the gameplay. I don't participate in the gatcha much except for ops I really want

@@tristanyou on my pulls as an average, it's around 60-70 pulls, anywhere before 50 is considered lucky alr And yeah, I agree with my man up there, getting a character is probably one of a main reason for any new player to play gacha game, so 300 rolls pity is kinda harsh on that perspective But I also think the gacha rate is really good, I practically never hit 300 pity but I have most of the Limited operator around 120-150 pulls anyway, on top of you never actually need them to play, it's just doesn't really matter that much Considering other gacha game got some "must have" you definitely need to get on top of whatever you want, Arknights gacha is different, you just keep saving until you get to whatever you want, then dump your Orundum on it, it sure is different and it doesn't relieve your gacha addiction that way, but it's not bad by any mean
@@Kiasis the average for a 6star is 34.6 pulls. There is a roughly 64% chance to get a 6star before reaching 50 pulls, so NOT getting before 50 is considered slighty unlucky.

One thing I'm sure other people already have said, you don't need 5* or 6* operators to clear any content, 3* and 4* are enough. It makes the clears more challenging and there are some 6* operators who trivialize hard maps but you have lots of content creators who do low end squads clears for pretty much everything. I don't recall any other gatcha (probably there is) which doesn't make you go for the highest rarity units in order to progress. And having a squad of only 6* sometimes can be more detrimental than beneficial, considering 6* are more "expensive" to deploy than lower rarity operators.
have you seen kyostin and other content creators going insane trying to do low-clears of SL-S-4 and 5? running heavy gacha on a new account is definitely detrimental because of mat costs but only maddened veterans are really going at it with challenge low cost. a new player gets stuck between the fact that they need low rarity staples to get by, but can't invest too much into them long term so they can also raise 5/6 stars (who also are expected to be S2'd and sometimes M3'd and module). shit's harsh
Yes. There will definitely be characters that you get who can completely trivialize 90% of the game. Because they need to exist. Gacha games have to make their characters worth spending money on. However, it's up to you on whether or not to use them in the first place. I, personally, (4th year player) don't even use high rarity units until I get to the absolute hardest content
Arknights is a game than even if you have full 6* team it's still not guaranteed you to win the stage but also a game that even if all your team is full with 4*, with the the right timing you can win the stage too.. not only that, some operator can be more usefull at E0 (ex Jaye for base, Kafka), some already good enough at E1 (most of 4* for base), some of them need E2 to be great (ex Thorns, SilverAsh), but some also can only be great after fully build them with module (ex Passengers, Mostima). an already builded low stars operator also not become useless after you have someone who can replace it, they can be used for IS who the higher the stars one operator have the higher the hope cost is. or for SSS.
In actuality, A9 is a brain game that tests your ability to think. Although op 6* makes combining your games more convenient and easy, it is not a highly important part. You can defeat extremely powerful bosses even if you just employ one 6* and the others are 5* or lower. There are hundreds of individuals on TH-cam that have videos with instructions you can watch if you don't know how to win.
as for "catching up" - there is nothing to catch up, really there are no "weapon banners" or "artifact grind" to do what people consider "meta" is shifting with time, so new players just gonna be jumping into new meta and as for past events, they can do them at any time, and all they are missing are some free operators and skins there are definitely times when it's great to join (like around new year coz of all free bonuses), but overall - it doesn't matter much
You still need good pool of operators to do event stages and no, you can't just do them at any time, missing out on an event means waiting at least a year for a rerun and then them being put aside in sidestory part of the game.
@@shinobuoshino5066 >need good pool of operators< is true for everyone, no matter when they start people aiming for meta got it even better nowdays with new beginner banner as for waiting a year - yep, but it's not like other games where event airs once and disappears forever; we got all of them in record restoration
@@godo2712What other gacha games do you know that never rerun past events? As far as I know, everyone reruns at some point so I don't know why you mention that Arknights does it as if it were the only one.
@@domhnall4723They never said Arknights was the ONLY ONE that reran every event, just that the game is great for doing that. i join the game recently two months ago, right now, i am level 60, & been following guide which banner to pull (limited&meta operator), i treat this game like a tower defense + idle game, i keep coming daily just to not waste my sanity. So far, i skip all the story, but understand some story through memes
I started playing about half a year ago. The game is overwhelming at first and the godawful inconsistent menus can make things even more confusing. Menus are designed to look good, not to be intuitive or easy. Like the story menu that kept sending me to the wrong part of the main story. It took me a while to figure out where the other part of the story went, because menus look different for each content and tiny things can be buttons in one menu and purely decorative designs in the next. That said, there is very much content to discover and much currency to farm. Since the game is sngleplayer, everyone can take as much time as they want. If you want a challenge, you can have much fun figuring out intricate strategies. And if you don't want to do that, there is no big punishment for not completing everything. The game is definetly worth a try. Shortly after I started, the game held an event with a completely new design that many experienced players complained about for being very convoluted and confusing. That did not even register to me, because I was already used to overly wordy texts and confusing menus. I expected to be overwhelmed and jsut rolled with it. I liked that event because I got to try many tactics and I could actually see how each upgrade in my tiny roster of underleveled units helped me do better.
11:41 For better understanding on Kernel Banner: New operators (ongoing new Banners) are not as straightforward and simple as older operator (from Kernel banners) They are still easy to use, but to use them optimally, usually you need something else (technique, comboes, placement, etc) The kernel banner, are for new players who wished to get their account firm and ready for various challenges. For example, New player pulling on Mumu banner won't be able to use her properly. New player pulling on the current Adele banner, will not utilize The 6* Eyja effectively, as elemental healers are meant to heal elemental damage, which is not present early on, and her alternatives can be farmed and then bought anytime on the shops.
The kernel banner facilitates for those newer players. In order to avoid the problems of diluted gacha pools. Also it helps all players to get newer units, since the old & basic units is moved to the kernel headhunting and not present on the newer banner, effectively increasing the chance for players to target newer units Finally, kernel banner is actually cheaper.
Many people saying about 300 pity system. I want to say, yes it is bad. But i know how to ease that a little bit. If you pull a 4* or higher, you'll get yellow cert. And you can exchange them for an operator for 180 certs. BUT i recommend to save 258 to get 40++ pulls to ease your way getting the 300 pulls. If you save your orundum, pulling tickets, and yellow certs, you can theoretically getting 300 pulls by playing for 6 months. For free. Be sure to spam the recruitment to get free yellow certs. Aim to get Specialist, fast-redeploy, nuker, summoner, crowd control, or shift tag. They at least give you 1 yellow cert. And if you really need that character of your choice, sometimes it is sold as all you can pick ticket. Unless it is a limited. Compared to Blue Archive, the gacha is better on Arknights IMHO. There i always saving 200 pulls to get an operator. Yes the spark is much lower at 200, BUT you always expect to get what you want at the Spark. And there's no similar mechanic like the yellow cert. Also Duplicates there only gives you 50 fragments needed to increase your unit rarity, which need 120 to do that during 4 to 5*. Doubled down IF you really like that character, so you want her as useful as she can get, you'll need that duplicate. Duplicate there giving a massive boost of stats unlike Arknights.
I started arknights last year during mlynar's banner as i stumbled upon many ak content creators saying he's the most broken unit in the game at that time and as an avid gacha player that I am, of course I downloaded the game and rerolled for him. But i soon realized in order for him to be broken i needed to elite 2 him but as a newbie its quite impossible for me to do it so i just used the low rarity units for the most part of the game and until now i kinda forgot mlynar existed in my party and he just stayed being elite 1 until now 🤣 in conclusion you dont need those broken meta characters to enjoy and clear arknights heck the low rarity ops are actually the ones that are important for contents such as the intergrated strategies
im a new player and i really like arknights SO FAR compared to the previous games ive played on mobile such as FGO, enstars, etc. the characters are cool and i like the world building and writing of the story.
Tips for new players: Do Intergrated strategies as soon as you get your first E2 unit (I recommend E2 any *4 character first) because supports unit minimum level tied to your highest operator level. The amount of grind that mode cuts on mid game is pretty impressive, and not a lot of people even old player touch the mode even though it's literally free resources. It can easily fund at least 3 *6 operator to E2, or more if you want to buildn *4 or *5 first.
IS is the roguelike, right? I only tested it yesterday (been playing for ~2 months, my highest is level E1 70 April, with an E1 55-60 squad built but no where close to affording E2s...) I didnt do too well with it, but i only gave it one try so hopefully i can work out the mechanics and get further in next time
@@Nazuiko tips how to ease your entry into IS, do IS3 first. It is significantly easier than IS2, also do all of the IS side content first, like challenge or record run. Most of them give powerful buffs from the start and most don't require full clear and you got a decent amount of resources to promote your first E2. After that you can try the main stage. I need to emphasize you will not fully clear a run or your first dozens of tries, just get your BP level slowly and build towards your first full E2 party. After you are comfortable with IS, starts going for IS2 for more resources.
14:45 How to catch up with the older players: Is actually pretty simple. 1. The player one day realized he/she need certain units in the kernel banner (Sometimes the new banner) (Through research, asking around, or come naturally) 2. Use the banner until he/she get the operators they need. Note that Kernel banner is always there. 3. Raise these operators to at least E2L60, give masteries as needed. 4. Check if self still "need" (not want) anything for his account. Repeat 1 if yes. Go to 5 if no. 5. Player are now more or less on the same power level with the older players and ready. Perhaps you're still missing some units you really need (but most likely want), but at this point you can already flex stage clear against veterans 🎉. 6. Player is now really free to start collecting the units the player "want".
The biggest mistake of HG is Chen Alter, which many account feel they need her. But in actual fact: You don't need her at all. Source, myself. My Chen Alter is sitting on the bench as seat warmer. Not that she is weak or anything, But I have more fun flexing stage clear without her.
@@DisIngRaM also me, having her lvl up to E2lvl90 since her banner. Never used her again in all of event run that was happened after 2 years of her release (unless in SSS stage when I test ops to have fun, but not really used that much) In conclusion, You definitely not need her. You can still finish the game without chalter. Even if you don't get her but you want to use her, just borrow on friend support. It's good to have her definitely, but never did I had the urge to use her because she's necessary to trivialize the stage.
Tbh based on Kyo's guides Mlynar is the go-to carry ATM, wish I had him but I can always just borrow him so it's no biggie My first pull was actually Scavenger so I didn't get any 5* 😂
10:07 Not true, Strong operators do not trivialize stages. They do help make it easier. But thinking you're fine with just them, is incorrect. Even as an endgame account player, I'm still struggling with stages.
@shinobuoshino5066 Surtr needs DP generation and Mlynar needs a team that's able to hold the fort and keep him alive while he spends 90% of his field time with his thumb up his ass doing nothing.
Playing since launch till this day and i'm supprised that the early game is still the absolute same. Even the stages you were struggling with are the same i got ptsd from back in the days
Playing since a week after launch, and this game has me in a vice grip, it does take more brain than any other game I've ever played but that's what keeps me coming back
The unskippable paragraph of text when pulling operators is only really a problem in Global. In CN/TW, the Chinese text zooms by pretty quickly because there are far fewer characters the game needs to print. Probably why HyperGryph never thought it was a problem.
As a new player, I'm having a great time - but also because on my first gatcha pull I somehow managed to pull Thorns and Mountian in the same x10 headhunt and they've been making up for my "oopsies" since I started the game- Also Gravel. Bless her.
I started playing 19 January earlier, exactly a month ago. I think it’s pretty fun, except the fact I can’t clear any of the events because I’m underlevelled (and obvious newbie skill issue ahaha) - maybe it would be more beneficial if they added a world level system like in genshin, but that’s probably my opinion only because I’m originally a genshin player ahaha. Also in regards to the auto deploy, I also think it would be more beneficial if they were like HSR and lets you set the amount of times to farm a specific level - especially during resources. Eh, just my opinion. KyoStinV’s videos are very useful ahaha. On 4-3, the lore is really interesting!
For anyone hesitant to start Arknights for fear of being behind, don't worry. There are two reasons that RIGHT NOW is the best time to start Arknights. One, the game rewards attention to detail and persistence much more than deep wallets. All the hard content in the game can be cleared with operators easily accessible to F2P, as long as you utilize them to their strengths. The community is large and active, and you can always reach out for help if you get stuck. You may come across a guide but not have the exact same operators to follow the guide. That's ok! Strategies are usually adaptable, and with a bit of thinking you can usually put your May where the original video had Exusiai, and still clear in the end. Two, a Schwarz is all you need.
Let me correct something healers, supporters and defenders used to support the team now u use them to double down in commitng wàrcrimè im not joking when i said medic is a better aoe caster than a aoe caster 😂
One of the kindest thing about Arknights is that you don't need to get duplicates of a character to get good use out of them. There are very small benefits from getting the max 6 duplicates of a unit, but you get about 98% of the utility out of having just one copy and using the non-premium tied improvement systems of leveling, skill leveling and promoting. Played too many gacha games where the real potential out of a unit requires you to get multiple copies to evolve/unlock it to higher tiers. Needing multiples really sucks the joy out of the few top tier units you manage to draw by luck if you're an f2p player. The other kind thing is that the stages are doable using lower rarity unit so if you miss a particular top rarity unit it doesn't cripple your account and limits your FOMO. Though watching people do put together 3 star clears really screws with your sense of competency. The last kind thing is that 90% of the content, including units that provide event specific units, is rerun and then added to the permanent archives so newer players can go back, play the stages, read the stories (if you have that time) and grab those units that are not part of the draw pool.
A note on skip tickets for general content. If your strat only just about worked because you got lucky with an rng mechanic then auto play might fail a lot. Skipping entirely would remove the criteria of needing to clear the stage with a secure strategy
10;19 And for any new players, don't worry, you'll invariably struggle here too. Unless you rolled a good low cost unit to assassinate one of the casters. Same for 2-8 and 2-9. And 2-10. Though, catching up isn't too hard due to the powercreep. You may lack old operators, but most of them have been powercrept so it doesn't really matter. As for endgame difficulty, the difficulty does scale pretty well. You'll still have trouble clearing EX-8 of event stages, or even if you have the most broken operators, the Challenge Mode still remains challenging. There's also Contingency Contract, a gamemode that allows you to select different "tags" that debuff your operators or buff the enemies, so you can try to aim for as high a score as possible.
Tldr: it’s one of the only gatcha games out there where the phrase “any character is good” actually matters Also the story a little convoluted but damn good
For new players, yes. The game is the most amazing thing to ever exist; early storytelling was great, simple yet head scratching gameplay which are sometimes engaging, few to no revealing skin, and many more. The music for this game were all superb you will doubt it is a gacha game. The best tower defense game out there. However, when you reach the late game, it will be the most frustrating and tasking game to ever exist; poor QoL, no Auto Clear for cleared stages, story became convoluted and painful to read, side features/games (except CC) were all experimental (POOP, IS, RA, etc) with no goal in mind than farm and pray for RNG. The game became a farming simulator that does not respect your time. It is a good side game.
The earlier you started the earlier you got operators and could spend now on the strong operators but starters now dont have ressources for that cause they could need everything
@@shinobuoshino5066 I _think_ what OP is talking about is Operators requiring E2 materials that can only be unlocked by progressing a substantial distance into the game. Say, if you pull Mudrock you're going to need to get Crystalline Electrical Units for that, and you can't make those until chapter 5. Granted, you can get them from Events and various other places.
i started last year and my newbie experience is still burned into my mind. the true newbie experience tends to be finding out that you've started out during an event with absurd normal stage difficulty (because everything in AK is catered towards high investment/high experience accounts/players, hello SN-10). if you're in this situation, you can't really play slow and you'll need to watch stage clear guides for fast clears or risk hurting your progression speed. unfortunately the game is glacially slow at implementing QoL features (like aforementioned anni skip tickets) so new players kinda gotta fend for themselves. the half assed base system as well requires you to read up a lot in order to not brick your account efficiency. regardless, the experience of what arknights is capable of talking about in its stories is worth it. just... very painful in the beginning.
The main appeal of arknights is the mix of gacha’s “everyone’s account is different” and tower defense’s brain activation gameplay. Unfortunately, new players have to deal with e0 characters which have the most basic skills, no passives and mostly meaningless stat differences
I like arknights a lot. But I will say that like every other gacha, its at a total loss on how to do a tutorial for new players. Every single gacha always just throws one instruction after another at you in a very railroaded way and without giving you proper repetition. Its like here is a lesson. Do this action once. Okay now lets go and do something very different in the main menu. Here is the enxt lesson, do it once. Now off again to another random part of the main menu. Its not that big a deal since it literally only matters for the very beginning but its still odd. They all do it the same way and its never good.
Arknight is one of those f2p games that makes me want to pay the devs money, not cause of waifus or arbitrary reasons. It:s because of the quality of the product they provide, and I feel like that they deserve it, another game that I feel this way is warframe. Just make a quality game and people would come to appreciate it and would want to pay for it even if it is free to play
Not sure if anyone told u already or if you reading the comments still, the first pull in a new account can both also be a 4star or a 6stars but nothing below a 4star, I had a six star on my first pull quite alot when i "rerolled" accounts to get desired units.
I actually downloaded the game in 2020 shortly after it was released and was lucky enough to pull W from my free currency earned initially. For whatever reason, I didn't continue playing it and picked up the game back in mid 2023. I showed my friend whom has been playing for awhile what my roster was and they flipped out that I had W already since she was a very early exclusive. After that, I was hooked. Yes, I have spent some money on the game (around 200 dollars) and have decided to not spend anymore money since what you stated is true at the end. This is a single player game and it doesn't really matter how fast you progress. As long as a daily sign in is done, spending your sanity in needed areas then you will eventually get all the Operators. There is one area not mentioned, the roguelite portion. I didn't know about it for the longest time and finally picked it up the other week and have been LOVING it. Not to mention the entire gameplay aspect is free with a ton of free goodies. This is definitely one of the better mobile/pc free-to-play games I have stuck with for longer than a few months. I also agree that some of the little annoyances in the game should be patched or fixed. That one when clicking the text in tutorial stages vanishing when it's not at the top is strange along with making us wait through the same introductions of all Operators when recruiting should be skippable. All around a good video!
here's a small thing for those veterans who wants to play arknights again. Perhaps open up an account where you don't pull at all, perhaps using recruitment once in while and just generally ignore the headhunting option. This makes you enjoy the story and the game better, since sometimes the desperation of pulling for new characters might just get in your head and blind you from the true interactive part of arknights. just saying, if you are playing as a guest, please please bind your account, I've been playing arknights as a guest for 2 years and when I lost my account twice, each with some devotion, it really just hurt your soul.
Like the Demazti cluster H stages
it's great to finally clear stage many-many failed attempts, only go on youtube and see someone doing the same stage with some obscure nicheknights or with low-level operators
"it's not about the meta, it's about the brain juice"
I've never think too much playing this game and just goes to lord kyo straight if im stuck on a stage 😂.
*laughs in SL-S stages*
That last challenge map against Dolly was absolute hell and nearly drove me insane. There is just so many elements to keep track of. Isolating the units from the spreading purple, managing where the lines land, distributing the pepsi bottles to break the boss in a smart fashion, dealing with the most powerful mages known to man (coincidentally a sheep with a fancy hat).
Can't wait until the Chain Auto Deploy update drops

Technically you can play every CC map in the rotating daily challenge but it is a very watered down experience.
The rewards are brought back on CN but we still have to wait for that on global.
Yeah yeah. Until you factor in that you need 3 thousand pulls for past limited 6 stars that is :)
They wont help new players much unless they fix the damn limited system
While she can still perform very well I have to strategize on where to place her, how I'll manage the in game mechanic so she isn't deleted or does like 200 damage, and how much she costs to Deploy along with the 11 other characters I bring to a stage where I have to think about the order in which of who gets deployed first so that the enemies target my defenders and not my healers/snipers/supports, AND the timing of all their skills.*
While bringing every Meta op will make a lot of the content easier, it's still by no means "place character and win" unless you stop to think and change your strategy.
@@PayAttExall I can say is...
*Holy Shit the Trials of Navigators and Design of Strife is made from pure evilness and devs trolling around*

Welcome to The Hivemind
2:35 bruh getting a 5 star in the first pull is already very lucky, you have no guarantee in your first pull(most ppl just get a 4 star)
10:50 there are actually 5 types of banners here... The starter, the LIMITED(with limited ops), the single-rate up(ops from events get a rate up on release and a single rerun), the standard(2 rate ups), the kernal
EDIT:
Banner types that did not appear in the video are Joint Operation(only the 4 rate up 6 stars can be summoned), C&R (the first 6 star is guaranteed new), and main story warm-up banner( ~3 6 star rate ups that is related to the main story)
Not exactly true on the single rate up banner, only normal size events get a rerun, story chapters which also have a single rate up do not get reruns, also you probably should've included the joint op/front that was banners, which for anyone who doesn't know and may read this are the ones that will only give you one of the rate up 6*
Ah that's my bad, I just assumed since I'd seen 2 5*s come out of that thing, should've checked tbf.
The fact that there's a chance to get a 6* in first full in every banner (including starter banner which has very low chance)
@@Z_04_Q ur right about the single rate up
I've only included 5 banner types bc that's the 5 that is shown in the video
But yeah there's also the new year? Banner where your first 6 star is guaranteed to be a new

I can confirm, the first ever gacha pull is not always a 5star. I stared an alt a while ago to play a niche without hogging my main account's resources. And the forced pull gave me a 4star, matterhorn specifically. But I don't judge or blame for thinking the first pull would do that, it'd be a good tactic to get people hooked om the gacha.
they tackled the nuisance of having to activate your auto deploy every run! with the upcoming 4.5 anniversary we get a feature which lets us automatically start up to 6 consecutive runs. yea they can't be skipped but 6 runs without you needing to be there is still good qol.
otherwise the points you brought up are understandable and valid👍
wait I still don't have that yet hopefully that patch comes soon.

It needa shaw s1 level 4 to do it. Vwterans know it but nooba do not
Games now-a-days tend to be easy for some reason and that's exactly why I love arknights if you want difficulty it have difficulty especially later chapters and especially integrated strategies
i have ptsd talking about that 😅
Yes there's is broken character who trivialise like 50% of the content but one easy solution I got is NOT TO USE THEM
There is bunch of broken ops nowadays but most of players still watch guide lol
@Rezter I mean if you don't feel like brainstorming for hours on a stage or just don't have time I don't blame no one for using guides
@@gilgamesh5154 in arknights, there's a guide for a fkin tutorial stage. let that sink in.
@@gilgamesh5154 noone who has mlynar surtr etc has to "brainstorm for hours" on any stage.
I really enjoy this culture we have
Cheers!
*Civilians*
The Harold boss fight was the one that finally pushed me to quit the game. haha, snowballs go brr
Love the video, especially since you went past chp 0, which quite a few people who want to try the game, doesnt give it a chance to reach the strategizing parts. So thank you for that
And one thing i would want to mention thats semi unique to arknights is almost all of the past events can be read and played any time in the menu. Like you can play the very first event released in arknights right now.
As well as multiple other game modes and end content that doesnt require sanity (well in game that is, irl sanity is needed)
THIS. And not only can you replay those events for the lore ... You can like.
Get the free operators from them too. Holy shit I found out way too late that Lava the Purgatory and Absinthe are literally free at *any* time once you reached ch 2.
i feel ashamed, playing arknights for 2 year now and still watching kyostinv video
Solid video, this was well put together on what your experience was as a new player of arknights. You got yourself a sub with how I liked this video was put together cause you really did make a bunch of good points about arknights from the pros and its cons of its game play. All of which I do agree with.

Stumbled upon your video, feel fully informed about Arknights now, really enjoyed the watch, thank you!
i used to play arknights since somewhere during it first release. At first i was thrilled, liked the mechanics and play style. However, after being introduced to the resource stages i went full burnt out very quickly because the amount of materials to farm as a beginner for me was a bit overwhelming, and also the fact that i was so used to a completely hands off experience from other gacha games. i came back a few months ago from a friend, it was a good decision because i finally rediscovered the joy and the thrill i used to have, but now with the fact that i overcame the burnt out feeling on the resource maps and started thriving since.
i played this game about a week ago, and im starting to enjoy it
i started playing in April last year, and I caught up by now. Love this game
Btw it's been 1 year since you uploaded your last video huh
Biggest thing you gotta learn as a new player:
Which is still being a baseknight, but its nice to know that I can supply a defender with an instructor for additional physical damage support now, when I don't want to plop down Ayerscape/Arene/Midnight down to have fun.
just finished the video and i liked it a mix of funny and serious moments
hope to see more arknights content from you

As a new player that's been playing for a month and slowly grinding up, I'm enjoying it.
I personally love Arknights since I'm a casual who likes to appreciate the art and story. And of course the gameplay. I don't participate in the gatcha much except for ops I really want
i just started recently, pretty good, but i see that the pity system is ridiculous
It's made up to that by the game doesn't need you to get the meta 6☆ to clear, I think it's a bit fair
@@Kiasis yeah but gacha game has gacha as its identity, players one way or another will take interest in cool looking characters or whatever, and 300 pity is just way too crazy
@@kkkkkkk6668 it might seem crazy what im about to say but its actually not that bad usually youd get a 6 star around 30 pulls from my experience and by the time you reach 300 youd already get most of what you need 300 pity is only if you want an old limited character and didnt manage to get them previously or currently and the game is pretty generous in terms of giving you pulls
@@tristanyou on my pulls as an average, it's around 60-70 pulls, anywhere before 50 is considered lucky alr
And yeah, I agree with my man up there, getting a character is probably one of a main reason for any new player to play gacha game, so 300 rolls pity is kinda harsh on that perspective
But I also think the gacha rate is really good, I practically never hit 300 pity but I have most of the Limited operator around 120-150 pulls anyway, on top of you never actually need them to play, it's just doesn't really matter that much
Considering other gacha game got some "must have" you definitely need to get on top of whatever you want, Arknights gacha is different, you just keep saving until you get to whatever you want, then dump your Orundum on it, it sure is different and it doesn't relieve your gacha addiction that way, but it's not bad by any mean
@@Kiasis the average for a 6star is 34.6 pulls. There is a roughly 64% chance to get a 6star before reaching 50 pulls, so NOT getting before 50 is considered slighty unlucky.
The game is still worth playing, 8 month old player here, I can say, this game give me a lot of experience, trauma, music, even memes (EN can't read lore moment)
Most brain juice I've ever used in a game, recently with So Long Adele, being able to beat all 5 S stages on CM is truly an experience and sense of achievement of a BIG BRAIN dokutah
Arknights is a game than even if you have full 6* team it's still not guaranteed you to win the stage but also a game that even if all your team is full with 4*, with the the right timing you can win the stage too..
not only that, some operator can be more usefull at E0 (ex Jaye for base, Kafka), some already good enough at E1 (most of 4* for base), some of them need E2 to be great (ex Thorns, SilverAsh), but some also can only be great after fully build them with module (ex Passengers, Mostima).
an already builded low stars operator also not become useless after you have someone who can replace it, they can be used for IS who the higher the stars one operator have the higher the hope cost is. or for SSS.
logged in since 2-2020. so much stuff happend in the game that i didnt even know event like those could happend for 2d games
There's no gate in the game play when you can basically complete the missions with only 4* operators...
The only gate is tr-15
In actuality, A9 is a brain game that tests your ability to think. Although op 6* makes combining your games more convenient and easy, it is not a highly important part. You can defeat extremely powerful bosses even if you just employ one 6* and the others are 5* or lower. There are hundreds of individuals on TH-cam that have videos with instructions you can watch if you don't know how to win.
Good voice, good video
as for "catching up" - there is nothing to catch up, really
there are no "weapon banners" or "artifact grind" to do
what people consider "meta" is shifting with time, so new players just gonna be jumping into new meta
and as for past events, they can do them at any time, and all they are missing are some free operators and skins
there are definitely times when it's great to join (like around new year coz of all free bonuses), but overall - it doesn't matter much
You still need good pool of operators to do event stages and no, you can't just do them at any time, missing out on an event means waiting at least a year for a rerun and then them being put aside in sidestory part of the game.
@@shinobuoshino5066 >need good pool of operators< is true for everyone, no matter when they start
people aiming for meta got it even better nowdays with new beginner banner
as for waiting a year - yep, but it's not like other games where event airs once and disappears forever; we got all of them in record restoration
@@godo2712What other gacha games do you know that never rerun past events? As far as I know, everyone reruns at some point so I don't know why you mention that Arknights does it as if it were the only one.
@@domhnall4723 wait, do Hoyo games do reruns? or something like Epic 7?
@@domhnall4723They never said Arknights was the ONLY ONE that reran every event, just that the game is great for doing that.

Only content Arknights doesn’t rerun are CC and the collab events (and even that may not be true anymore with Nine-color and R6S confirmed to be getting reruns).
i join the game recently two months ago, right now, i am level 60, & been following guide which banner to pull (limited&meta operator), i treat this game like a tower defense + idle game, i keep coming daily just to not waste my sanity. So far, i skip all the story, but understand some story through memes
4 years and its still lacking basic qol. Gets tedious very fast. Also gacha system isn't as generous as many claim it is.

For better understanding on Kernel Banner:
New operators (ongoing new Banners) are not as straightforward and simple as older operator (from Kernel banners)
They are still easy to use, but to use them optimally, usually you need something else (technique, comboes, placement, etc)
The kernel banner, are for new players who wished to get their account firm and ready for various challenges.
For example,
New player pulling on Mumu banner won't be able to use her properly.
Also it helps all players to get newer units, since the old & basic units is moved to the kernel headhunting and not present on the newer banner, effectively increasing the chance for players to target newer units
Finally, kernel banner is actually cheaper.
Duplicate there giving a massive boost of stats unlike Arknights.
those with Dusk as asistant have all my trust
Hope you will continue playing atleast up to chapter 7 also hope to get more vids like this for each chapter you complete.
i started playing arkknight 4 days ago and your video summer up my experience so far with it perfectly xD
man posted nothing for a year and then decided to cook up a 5 star meal
im a new player and i really like arknights SO FAR compared to the previous games ive played on mobile such as FGO, enstars, etc. the characters are cool and i like the world building and writing of the story.
I only tested it yesterday (been playing for ~2 months, my highest is level E1 70 April, with an E1 55-60 squad built but no where close to affording E2s...)
I didnt do too well with it, but i only gave it one try so hopefully i can work out the mechanics and get further in next time
@@Nazuiko tips how to ease your entry into IS, do IS3 first.

How to catch up with the older players:
Is actually pretty simple.
1. The player one day realized he/she need certain units in the kernel banner (Sometimes the new banner) (Through research, asking around, or come naturally)
But in actual fact:
You don't need her at all.
Source, myself.
My Chen Alter is sitting on the bench as seat warmer.
Not that she is weak or anything,
But I have more fun flexing stage clear without her.

_Activate Melantha Skill now_
The unskippable paragraph of text when pulling operators is only really a problem in Global.
Bless her.
Can you read me a bedtime story?
Playing your cards right and borrowing the right units should get you through the regular stages of most events.
They are actually adding that bulk stage-farm in the 4.5 anniversary!!! So at least that will be fixed.
"Guards do damage"... And tank, heal, nuke, CC.
My favorite PNG truly trust and respect me as a person is all I need.
Good review. May want an outro with some cool music as your signature. Liking your style so far.
My brain trembles.
Tldr: it’s one of the only gatcha games out there where the phrase “any character is good” actually matters
Also the story a little convoluted but damn good

Except you don't need specific operators to play the game and can go with whatever gacha gives you.

I _think_ what OP is talking about is Operators requiring E2 materials that can only be unlocked by progressing a substantial distance into the game. Say, if you pull Mudrock you're going to need to get Crystalline Electrical Units for that, and you can't make those until chapter 5. Granted, you can get them from Events and various other places.
this is a good topic, Arknights really is a one of a kind gacha game
i started last year and my newbie experience is still burned into my mind. the true newbie experience tends to be finding out that you've started out during an event with absurd normal stage difficulty (because everything in AK is catered towards high investment/high experience accounts/players, hello SN-10). if you're in this situation, you can't really play slow and you'll need to watch stage clear guides for fast clears or risk hurting your progression speed. unfortunately the game is glacially slow at implementing QoL features (like aforementioned anni skip tickets) so new players kinda gotta fend for themselves. the half assed base system as well requires you to read up a lot in order to not brick your account efficiency.
regardless, the experience of what arknights is capable of talking about in its stories is worth it. just... very painful in the beginning.
The main appeal of arknights is the mix of gacha’s “everyone’s account is different” and tower defense’s brain activation gameplay. Unfortunately, new players have to deal with e0 characters which have the most basic skills, no passives and mostly meaningless stat differences
This was a pretty fair and honest review
*Lungmen Profanity* nice vid 😊
Not sure if anyone told u already or if you reading the comments still, the first pull in a new account can both also be a 4star or a 6stars but nothing below a 4star,
I had a six star on my first pull quite alot when i "rerolled" accounts to get desired units.
My friend started this game 3 months ago and immidietly got mylnar, considered as the best dps unit, was kinda piss off but was happy for him
As a 4 week account, i love arknights. Cleared rs 8 event at 2 weeks old account
