Guten Tag! Or: Good day! I'm Lens, the video editor, scriptwriter and graphic designer for this video. Huge thanks to PlusMinus for allowing me to post this video on his channel! The production of the video originally started in May, some time left before Zwillingstürme im Herbst concluded. At that time, the story of Leithanien that blended German and musical themes perfectly fascinated me, especially since as a young Asian child with musicians as family members, I was conscripted into learning the piano. However, something that stood out to me was the Witch King, who had been a recurring figure in all Leithanian events. In Lingering Echoes, he was a mysterious figure who constantly haunted his descendant, Ebenholz. In Zwillingstürme im Herbst, he was the primary antagonist. He was a shadow that loomed all over Leithanien, and no matter where you looked, traces of his influence would be there. I was inspired to create this video by Teacher @klausmight's amazing animation, which was animated in collaboration with several other Bilibili creators, such as Teacher @ziyinzhang8261 which should be a familiar name in the international server. As I wrote the script, his animation continuously played in my head, so in the end, I asked my friend to help ask for permission to use his footage. To my surprise, he agreed within an hour! Speaking of that friend, his username is Landdoraine, a native Chinese speaker. Though information regarding the Witch King was plenty, a great chunk used in the script came from Terra: A Journey. Since there was no official English translation in the international server yet, I had to manually translate it myself. In fact, this video was originally supposed to be far more broad, covering the entirety of Leithanien as a whole, and I had already written the whole script. Unfortunately, it was too long, and @PlasuMinusu and several others advised to cut it down to one overarching theme: the Witch King. During the scriptwriting process, Landdoraine also helped correct some of the mistakes I made in translation, and talked to me about some things that the Yostar translation excluded in Zwillingstürme im Herbst. Eventually, the script was shortened into this video that you see today. The graphics used to portray the Map of Terra, which Arknights Terra Wiki gave me permission to use, were inspired by simulation video games like Hearts of Iron IV. This was something that Landdoraine also brought up to me. Many distracting elements were removed in the UI, so that the viewer can focus on the primary and crucial elements instead. The thumbnail of this video was made in respect to @klausmight's beautiful animation, so I ought to have made a fitting one that best represented the tragedy of the Witch King as well. I opted for a black and vintage-like feel, hoping to elicit a sense of historical gravitas, and attempted to show the contrast between the wise Herkunftshorn and the dreaded Witch King. The English words, "MADNESS", also eclipse the twin towers of Zwillingstürme that lay behind it, as if it is impossible for the current Leithanien to forget the influence and impact that the Witch King had on its history. I could not have created the graphics in this video without the help of @tomatomaki, a fellow enjoyer of Arknights' graphic design. He traced the entirety of Zwillingstürme im Herbst's graphic design, and it was only with the assets he provided me that I could compose graphics that can hopefully represent the theme of Leithanien well. Again, I cannot stress enough that this video could not have been made without the help of all the people supporting me. This was not only my first attempt at video creation, but I was also very busy at Lungmen Dragons doing graphics for them, since we have very little manpower in the graphics team. (Please join us if possible.) Also, there was still the matter of highschool that I had to deal with. And that's all from me. Tschüssi! Or: Goodbye!
Impressive production quality. I know that Zwillingsturme used some remakes from true classics but still, they are classics for a reason. These bad boys slap. And this video was awesome. More interesting than the Witch King himself is his legacy, I find. What we learn he had been doing for instance.
Geiler Scheiß. Die Leithanian Geschichte ist einfach wunderbar. Unbeknownst to his Leithanian subjects, the Witch King locked himself in his spire and descended into madness because he was trying to Full Combo "Through the Fire and Flames" on guitar hero.
I would say the he is one of the three kings that I think made a huge impact in the Terran History. Lugalsargus- Created the Calendar that will be the basis of date and time of modern Terran. United Sargon under his name and making it the most powerful Nation during his time. Sargon's Political system also become the basis of other Terran monarchy system. Kharanduu Khan- The one who shake the era of the Elder Races. Defeated the Dracos of Victoria, Humiliate the Hippogriffs of Ursus, and defeated the Pegasian Kuranta of Kazimierz. The Witch King- His intelligence for music and Arts are top notch. Known to be the most powerful caster of all. Turns a whole squad of Gaulish Soldiers into stone.
Don't forget François of Gaul, he was the guy who initiated the city planning project to relocate Gauls' capital onto a moving plate making it the birth of the first nomadic city on Terra. At the same time all other nations see it as THE capital of Terra. After the war of the 4 nations, this very capital was taken over by Victoria and became what we know as Londinium.
@@PlasuMinasu IIRC, the first nomadic city in Terran history was founded by the Seven Cities Alliance. Lingones was the first city to be turned into a nomadic one.
Im mean that scary as hell. Imagine the ruler of your country had been executed and you could still feel his power linger around. And turns out he actually wasn't die but in a state where he alive and dead... And created his own palace, Pavilion...
This was phenomenal! Was all this info from the Terra history book? I assume the stuff about the twins was from the most recent event(I haven't gotten around to reading it yet :P). I recently got the book but I can't read Mandarin so it's been a challenging experience with google translate since no one has translated it yet :(
Great video and summary! Was never too knowledgeable about Leithanien, but the events made me love it. A friend of mine read through Zwilingstürme and came to the conclusion that Ewigegnade can be interpreted as having put everything in motion herself in order to become the sole undisputed ruler. Which was an interesting take. Made me wonder if anyone else got that impression/analyzed it that way.
