@@shmagglehammer you’re right, it’s even nearly impossible to find normal food anymore not loaded with unnatural chemicals and preservatives that will make you sick over time.
This is why i'm here watching this video, in my city they installed Led lights and ever since i have a weird feeling while driving even loss of concentration, i don't know if it's from these lights.
I recently moved back to California and upon searching for incandescent bulbs found they are impossible to buy here because they are actually illegal for stores to sell them anymore. I understand the desire to conserve the electricity. And I personally hate that incandescent bulbs give off so much heat. But when the alternative is being completely bedridden in constant horrific migraines, some even leading to seizures, what choice do I have? I am already unable to enter public buildings and businesses without getting sick. I cannot be under that kind of lighting in my own home. Gratefully, I was able to find some friends who still had incandescent bulbs from before when the stores stop selling them. I don’t know what I will do when those bulbs burn out since I cannot purchase any new ones where I live.
I can’t. I just can’t. I recently decided to turn off all my lights at home because of having migraines, eye pain when under these lights! It’s crazy how no one is trying to change this 😢
my room has normal lights but i also got led lights on my wall because they look cool and they're colorful and i always have them on. i'm 15 so maybe that's why they don't cause me headaches :/
Thank you for the post! I wish this was being talked about more. I have noticed that my eyes hurt when driving at night and a car with LED is oncoming or right behind me.
Umm don't look at them look to the side of the road I mean you should have learned that in driving school! Led lights on cars are far safer! Being able to see while driving saves countless lives!
@@natecote1971 you can see just fine with incandescent bulbs. The worst is when a car hasn’t aimed their new leds. It hurts like hell and I make sure to give them a taste of their own medicine with my 300w light bar.
Those super bright LED headlights burn my eyes- even if I don’t look right at them. They should be banned. They could at least make them a warmer color.
The electric company replaced most of the lightbulb's in our apartment the other day with new LED ones. One of the men told me that though it was a much lower watt how much light it would actually put off. I had a feeling the new bulbs had something environmentally wrong with them, and maybe because of the fact our electric company was so eager to put them in free was one of the reasons.
I am prone to light stimulus migraines, especially under a lot of stress…like being under fluorescent lights all the time in grad school. 15 years later, living in California, we were moved into a new ‘eco-friendly’ building, with all LED lighting. About 5 out of 50 of us were having unbearable migraines and couldn’t understand why, I knew nothing about how LED lights cause those who are light sensitive to have extreme and severe migraines. I miss incandescent bulbs, every time I find some, I grab them. We just bought a new Christmas tree (of course with all LED lights…that’s all you can get now) and one of my favorite things to do this time of year is just sit and look at how beautiful the tree is…however, within about 60 seconds, I can feel my brain going haywire, and the pain start to set in, and have to walk away from it, even when we have it on the dimmest setting. I truly understand how these may be better for the environment, but there also needs to be an option for those who are dying with a crushing headache and puking their guts out when exposed to them.
Reason I asked if this was intentionally done. Just like 432hz changed to 449hz. This to have an effect on human behavior etc. I never like fluorescent lights LEDs even worst. Wonder why Hospitals have them if the idea is to “cure” generally speaking. Instead it is depressing, Restaurants that opt for them I don’t even bother I’m going in food looks pale an unattractive.
@@abraham3901 I don’t like fluorescent lights cause everything looks too bright…the LED lights look nicer, but just make my head explode with pain, I don’t know what it is. Apparently, LED’s flicker at a much higher rate, and those who are light sensitive react more intensely to them, even tho LEDs appear not to have the flicker that fluorescent lights do. They are energy saving and last longer (not sure) than fluorescent lights, but I hate them. I can tolerate them if they are dimmed down, but if they are blinking, like Christmas lights, or are bright, they’re a nightmare. I really miss incandescent bulbs, but, I also respect taking care of the planet, and our energy resources, and they are not very efficient in that way, but they had such a nice soft light.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have been having severe migraine headaches for weeks that only occur at night when I am working under LED lamps at home. It wasn’t until this evening that I looked up several articles and watched your video that I realized that the LED lightbulbs in the three lamps that I have in my bedroom have been causing my migraines and blurry vision. I will be heading to the hardware store tomorrow morning to replace every lightbulb in the house with incandescent bulbs.
The problem I have is the types of incandescent light bulbs I have been using for years are now no longer easy to find and are all being replaced by Led versions which are simply horrible ... I have neurological problems and can definitely see and feel the difference with LED bulbs . I can't stand them . I have always used in the evening , low-watt Amber bulbs and also dark pinkish party lights ... also Himalayan salt lamps . In the evening my home always has rooms with a soft pleasant glow ... no bright lights unless i'm going to read . I used to be able to just run to the store and get my General Electric cone shaped Amber lights and the same thing with the dark pink party light bulb . Then every place that sold them stop selling them and eventually replaced them with LED versions ...omg , definitely not the same as they give off a weird electronic flat color instead of a soft warm glow . I even called up a manufacturer of one of these bulbs about 2 years ago and he explained the U.S. government made it illegal for any company to manufacture incandescent bulbs in America . Oddly enough we can order them on the Internet as most of them are now manufactured overseas especially in China and have to be imported to America ... yet these are American companies . I would love to know which politicians made this law and have money invested in the manufacture of LED light bulbs . It's ridiculous that now I have to order them online when that is not how I prefer to shop . I never thought the time would come when light bulbs would be problematic especially when I am outside at night getting hit with the horrible glare of huge powerful LED lights on buildings and car headlights .
Good luck finding them! In UK they've been abolished. I spend my time chasing down halogen (also discontinued here), purely because I hate the light the LEDs emit. Here's another reason to hate them!
@Colin Reid Thanks. I'll look in to it. I know nothing about LEDs or incandescent lighting, except that I detest LED light. It's cold and reminds me of supermarket/office strip lights that make me feel discombobulated. Finding out that they're unhealthy too just adds to my dislike of them. The 'warm' white can be passable, which is the type you suggested, i think.
@Colin ReidThe newer car headlights are equally blinding to the human eye. Only 45, but I don't like this new century! I'll try and remember what you told me. Thanx! 😉
Whenever I'm in a building that has the blue LED lights, I get a horrible headache and very nauseous. I have to get out of there as quickly as possible or I'll vomit. I am finding there are more and more places using this light. It's awful. :(
Thank you for this video ❤ I recently started learning about this. I’ve switched many lights in my home to incandescent and immediately noticed a difference. I’m very upset after learning about the incandescent ban.
Interesting, so for a computer worker doing long night shifts with many monitors what would the ideal room lighting be in terms of color , type, position, etc?
Build a Halogen / incandescent tv , or projector, for monitor. Easier thing to do is have incandescent lights in the room, to maybe balance good with bad..........
As a person susceptible to powerful headaches, I take this information very much to heart. I will only use LED bulbs in outdoor fixtures, not in my home. Incandescent bulbs can still be purchased online, and it is worth the effort to find them and stock them. Perhaps with the change of administrations in Washington, D.C., the restrictions on incandescent bulbs will be eased.
Thank you for doing this video, seems like everyone has their head buried in the sand when it comes to this very very important issue on how LED and CFL bulbs are terrible for our eyes and health, and incandescent bulbs are natural and healthy
I stocked up on both "normal" incandescents and the Edison-style incandescents. I have an entire closet filled with nothing but them. The Edison bulb I have in my desk lamp has lasted me six years thus far. CFLs give me headaches, and every LED I've ever been around strobes; although others tell me they don't notice it. When my stash eventually runs out, it's Kerosene and/or candles for me.
@@JodBronson you can see the LEDs strobe too? Yeah, I wasn't one to fall for the whole "new equals better" shindig. I began stocking up in 2007 when I was still in high school. I much prefer the warm, orange light of an incandescent bulb or Kerosene lamp. Thanks for the reply!
@@jonofarc443 - Some cheap LED does it. OMG, I HATE LED period! I too stocked up bulbs when I saw them fading out due to CFL's & LED. OMG, it was cheap, so I bought tons..... It's been about 5 years now, I am so GLAD I did it. OMG, they are so expensive now. From reading what you described, you are like me... "EMF Sensitive".

Dr. Benjamin Snider Thanks, I learned something new about how vision and light affect the eyes. From my experience in physical therapy its apparent that the eyes respond like the coordination of the body. Our bodies develop responses that react to great, brief trauma and low, but sustained discomfort. It was important to me to understand that the receptors that are affected are not the vision (rods and cones) receptors. We have a web of other receptors that drive our overall health and recovery cycles and these are the ones that are more sensitive to not only the blue light, but the green and white light effects too. Still, this information is beyond the reach of any of us to make smart decisions. The intensities are arbitrary/unknown/specific to exposure conditions and the power of wavelength equally obtuse. Having lived a lifetime with fluorescent lighting on jobs and in the home which seems far worse, it only serves to let us know life is hard. But, if you are having sleep issues, you might eliminate the high tech lighting or switch on the no-blue-light feature at night, and get some real sunlight during the day... Nothing is reported about recovery, but realize you may have suffered damage and will need to heal to recover. (Oh, be aware that with the GSM, the sunlight has more intense blue and EUV light... This cannot be good... life is hard.) Supplementing vit. D and others would no doubt help. Thanks for the post and citation.
Dr. Benjamin Snider not all led's are blue where did you get your degree at a crack jack box...wow....there are different colors of leds on the kelvin scale as well as about the same as incandescent on cri. Love the misinformation.
For years I heard how "too much sunlight could lead to macular degeneration".(??) I think the bigger threat is using computers and smart phone screens, since that's ALL blue light. I'm going to start wearing yellow tinted glasses when I'm using those, since (unlike an L.e.d. light bulb) you are staring directly at it for hours.
Shouldn't we be developing shades/covers/shields/filters that let the light through except for the blue light spectrum? I'm sure we can come up with a material that specifically targets the blue light wave length spectrum band filter (< 450 nm wavelength). I know there is coatings you can get for your glasses that block this "blue" light spectrum.
Thank you for explaining this. I'd like for you to go into cataracts and how these are impacted by this type of lighting. There are a lot of people who spend hours at the computer everyday - and this is going to cause a complete WAVE of people to need cataract treatments before they typically would without exposure to LED lights, blue lights, and the computer screens and cell phones. People need to be aware of this - Can you also find ways to block this? And give recommendations on what type of glasses to purchase? I would trust your opinion. They are installing LED Lights in a lot of businesses and homes now - due to the Agenda 21 guidelines - and because people want to save money on their electric bills. They don't realize the health risks. LED also causes issues with Melatonin - there is another video that goes into this with a physicist that worked for General Electric over 30 years. Great video - thanks for taking the time to make this!
By any chance do you recall the name of the channel where the video by the physicist to used to work for General Electric ? I'm really struggling with all these extremely bright LED headlights on other people's vehicles when i'm driving at night . Now they're putting them on all the buildings around where I live and it's just very depressing to take a pleasant stroll in early nighttime . It's like we're turning into a nightmare world
Light emitting diodes come in a mixture of light output colours and temperatures. 2700 k are quite warm and appear more red and orange spectrum. Only the cooler white has a blue aspect that's visible. something like 4000k plus . Doesn't this make a significant difference to any suggestions of health risk?
christastic100 don’t quote me on this, but from my understanding of the Dr Alex, I believe that the blue light still exists even with the warmer LED’s. It all starts with the blue light and then its warmed with other colors of the spectrum, but it doesn’t filter out the blue.
It's possible to buy mains powered red LED bulbs, but they're only a low 5 watts in power, equivalent to a 30 watts incandescent bulb. If enough people realised the problem with LED bulbs, manufactures would start making them with a better light spectrum.
Not sure what this looks like haha. Doctors say LED and CFL CAN'T ever produce a heathy light, with any amount of R&D. Switch them out with incandescent. The fixtures say how much Watts it can hold. or ask me
My laptop has a setting for red light, originally for use at night, so you may want to check yours to see if you have it as well. Also, iphones have a red light setting too, and smartphones require an app (unless smartphones finally added the setting).
Red light from the sun is not what causes skin cancer. UV radiation that comes through the hole in the ozone layer, which was caused by CFCs and other synthetic compounds (now banned), is what causes skin cancer.
Yosef, MacGruber: Maybe you should take some chemistry classes at a university, so that you know what I'm talking about. It was mentioned in my organic chemistry class (organic chemistry is the study of carbon compounds, if you didn't know). Scientists proved that certain synthetic compounds, such as CFCs, were damaging the ozone layer...that's why the compounds were banned from all products worldwide.
Yet they pretend like nature is fragile, when actually, nature is resilient. Maybe they should do a careful study, as to the harmful effects of rampant government corruption, and how destructive bad policy is to the economy and how it spreads poverty through the world?
I use red light therapy at night before sleep. I use red LED and red incandescent night light bulbs. The red LEDs do not hurt my eyes like white LEDs do. I do not use near infrared as it is too expensive, but is there health benefit from plain red LEDs? My guess is yes. It seems it could stimulate melatonin production.
Do you know anything about LED glasses that you wear for 20-30 minutes in the morning to reset your circadian rhythm? Is even that amount of blue light in the morning damaging?
The sunlight in the morning is higher in blue light which should help 'wake you up'. Blind fish from the bottom of the ocean become more active when exposed to blue light. The interesting light shift is sunlight at evening that slopes down from red to blue like a snowdrift. Incandescents closely match that.
Thanks. I tried to find incandescent lightbulbs this week and was told they were banned 2 years ago. Are low-watt halogen bulbs and candles my only choice now?
@The secular humanist It's still LED. This time I clicked on the link to the Dr. Munsch interview and read with special interest the comments by the man in rural Arkansas and what he experienced after an instant exposure to his LED flashlight and the electronics design engineer.
I was doing a termite job in a house and they had one of the twisty fluorescent LED lights I turned and it broke in my face and I inhaled and smelled it, I blew out all the air in my lungs as quick as I could but I could taste it in my mouth.
There is absolutely no correlation between artificial light sources and macular degeneration. From the article you cited yourself: “However, Darzin et al. [118] found no significant relationships between blue light and the development of AMD. Okuno et al. [119] evaluated the blue-light hazards from many different light sources and reported that the exposure (even for less than a minute) to blue light from the sun, arc-welding lamps, and the arc of discharge lamps is hazardous to the retina, whereas the exposure to blue light from fluorescent lamps or LEDs does not pose a significant hazard.”
Don't you notice the difference between the LED and the old incandescent light bulbs... I do I can't stand the LEDs and I feel they are very harsh even the ones that are in Amber and are supposed to have a soft glow actually do not because they are electronic
Yinyang and Fenshui are reacting with LED? What about TV and computer screen, Is there a study about any increase of health problem caused flat screen with programmers?
Depends on what the screens are backlit with. TVs sold today are typically LED or LCD- FLU. Computers are typical LCD which is powered with fluorescent. BAD BAD BAD
Quick question; I have heard many people talking about this subject but no one seems to cover the fact that there are warm spectrum LEDs (2700k -3000k) By what everyone is saying it would seem that only the cool spectrum LEDs are bad for our health. Please let me know if that is the correct assumption.
Stephanie Ann hi Stephanie. This is a great question and this is probably the best resource to answer that question. articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2016/10/23/amp/near-infrared-led-lighting.aspx
"There's a wide range of LED lights on the market these days. Some are cool white, others are warm white, for example. The former emits higher amounts of harmful blue light. The warm LEDs can be deceptive, as they give out a warm-appearing light but do not actually have the red wavelength. The warmth comes from masking the blue with high amounts of yellow and orange. There are also LEDs available with less blue, which are closer to the spectral distribution of incandescent lamps with regard to the blue part of the spectrum. Unfortunately, without tools to measure it, you won't know exactly what you're getting. This is in sharp contrast to an incandescent light bulb, where you know exactly what kind of light spectrum you're getting."
So, if most LEDs do not include the red spectrum of light... are the blue light filters on phones & computers even doing anything of real value? Technically it would seem that all they are also doing is masking the blue light with high amounts of orange/yellow... Please let me know if you believe that is the correct assumption according to your understanding of this.
Yo Doc! I did an experiment as a child where I grew a string bean plant in my COMPLETELY DARK basement with nothing more than a 1' x 1' copper plate in my back yard in the sunlight with a copper wire stuck into the soil in the pot that he plant was in under inside my basement and IT THRIVED, explain that! (I know the answer)
I know people who have already done this with their l.e.d.'s, they just cover it with yellow acetate to counteract the blue. Then there are those yellow lense glasses they make for "night time driving", that would effective cancel out the blue light while using the computer, etc.
LEDs are safe. This blue light thing is just nonsense, given that our eyes can withstand the intensity of SUNLIGHT which has far more blue light than any artificial light source edit: I've been living in a house entirely lit by LEDs for multiple years now and I've never experienced any health problems. I also use daylight LEDs for studying and I find that I study better under the cooler light. I don't doubt that blue light can disrupt circadian rhythm but it isn't dangerous
I will be terminated from my job if I don’t use eye time clock by Paychex. It uses LED to scan eyes. Do have any info in led eye scanner that I can use s a source to give to my job?
I don't care what anybody says, LEDs, especially the purple ones are BAD for all living things. When in doubt, get your lights to appear closer to fire light, and all will be good.
If I have linear LEDs set up in a building with regular 100 watt bulbs, will that level out the infrared and red light waves? It's in a building with different animals and I know blue light exclusively will not be a good option but will it balance itself out with the incandescent bulbs beside them?
With respect to the retinas... if you received a self-inflicted high momentary exposure to an 800 lumen flashlight whilst working on a piece of machinery, because you were so desperate to find a flashlight you didn't even think about it being too bright, and are still pretty sensitive to light in that eye a few weeks later, with extended afterimages and a couple random floaters every once in awhile, is there a) cause for concern of retinal detachment b) if there isn't, is there anything I can do to heal mild retinal damage, albeit slowly? I got a list of foods that's supposed to help your retinas. Funny though, all the official literature says the damage is permanent.
@@SpiritualReform I Can tell you the manufactures found a way around ut all they sell the old 40 watt bulbs with the standard base as appliance bulbs they even have the frosted and clear glass. I have noticed to the change in power bill is negligible and I feel different for sure
so basically just add one incandescent bulb to your lighting mix daily, or candle or infrared heater light from quartz i think this is saying. i have one of those things for at night, usually the infrared heater. what about cfl bulbs or led bulbs that are the darker more incandescent type lighting? is that still blue light?
Dear Dr. Benjamin, could you please help in these questions: 1. Is the LED lamp dangerous for nails, doing gel polishes for example, is there any chance to get a cancer? How does it work with nails? 2. There's a new nail polish, it's called Vinyllux Brand CND and they say that it's no need to dry this polish in a led lamp now and that it's getting harder under the natural uv light from the sun. Is it still dangerous or maybe even more dangerous than making gel polishes using led lamp? I would be really happy to get your advices and help as you're a Pro in this sphere. Thanks for your video!
I’ve been using my LED colored light mask every night for 30 minutes. Now I have twitching under both eyes that’s become nonstop. Is that a side effects if it and will it go away if I stop using the mask?
Not all LED's are blue light The nice thing about them is there are a wide range of light frequencies that LED's are made in. If the bulbs are blue light then get some that are warm white light.
Did he say "blue infra red" at 1:58 ? Also there is no hard evidence, to my knowledge, that the radiation from incandescent lights has any specific health-promoting properties.
Your advice is poorly considered. If blue light is so dangerous, don’t sit near the window. The amount of blue light given off by an led source is tiny compared to the sky. Also there’s UV outside! The amounts of IR given off by an incandescent bulbs are tiny. I agree that blue light in the evening can affect sleep patterns, but probably not as much as the bad habits formed around phones and social media.
Dr. Snider, I wonder if you'd be kind enough to comment on the Celluma and Dermalux health/beauty lamps out there? I'm about to purchase one or the other, as I've had good results with them here in the UK, in clinical settings, and want to buy the home-use equivalents made by the same brand (Dermalux). Here's the spec for the one I'm looking at: Blue 415nm, Red 633nm and Near Infrared 830nm. You can vary the combinations to suit your skin's needs. Based on what you've said, I think I should avoid the blue, right? I'm researching this deeply, and have turned up a few cases where people are reporting radical damage from these under salon conditions. : 0 I don't know if infrared is as safe as NIR. Your thoughts? (Even a very brief reply would be great.)
Is the blue light all that is wrong with them? Or is there something else? Because now led lights with 2700 lumens are available, and that is as warm of a light as the old incandescent lights. Does anyone know?
100 percent agree with you Dr. Snider. There is a significant lack of awareness about specific types of light and its effect on health. I live with Chronic Migraine - LED lights are my kryptonite (not fun).
Appreciate you information and your level of intelligence Is it possible for you to refer a source for a bulb that is not damaging Or should one go back to old school bulbs? Information is great, however a viable solution is the real focus Thank you for your reply
I understand that low voltage halogen is best, but where do I find a low voltage halogen light bulb in 12? He said DC was pure and AC made for 10 times more a dirty light
Wow thanks!... I have purchased a LED light box to try n combat the winter blues.. it has 2 settings a blue light and a slightly red tone. Can you tell me if this is no no to use? Thanks
Thanks for the video. I don't know if it is just me but I have better vision with incandescent lighting than with the lighting with LED or florescent. I would appreciate your thoughts if this issue effects others.
But the light that I use, like lifx using red as a chosen colour. Does this mean that using the led bulbs are bad? Or it just the colour of the led you choose?
I am around a bunch of 6500k white LEDs to grow microgreens lol. Can I just wear sunscreen and wear sunglasses like I do outside?? Thanks for the video man!
I've been wearing amber blue blocking glasses for about 6 months now and I highly recommend them. I always wear them when looking at my laptop in the evening to block the blue light and it makes the brain think the sun is down. I used to have a hard time falling asleep and had insomnia for many years and now I usually fall asleep in less than 5 minutes.
The doctor told us LED and CFL after all the research and development they can never be as good. I would be interested into an experiment, I have many hypothesis about what might happen, with plant lights.
Hi Claude - thanks for connecting and for watching the video. I have a citation in the description above. There are more but I found this to be the best summary. Best.
It's the dosage that is harmful, not the color. There are plenty of photobiomodulation studies where light in the 400nm (blue) range is found to be beneficial within the context of the study. Having said that it is true that at this time red and infrared light have found many more beneficial uses to the body.
Well considering that no one uses wood fire, candle or incandescent anymore. Most are exposed to LED and CCFL 8-10hrs at work, then the rest at home, and staring at their phone while on the go. I would say the dosage is high.
I shined my led hand held floodlights on my indoor tv antenna. At my surprise the tv signal when out. The light completely blocked out the signal. I did wonder how safe led lighting is. Thanks for your video.
I need a lighting for dummies bookI guess but I thought incandescent bulbs were banned how are we supposed replace or go back to incandescent? I know they sell LEDs with different temperatures meaning different shades of light yellow or more blue inside of it is that what you mean get them LEDs with the lower temperature what has more yellow instead of blue? Thank you very much for your video
LED can be bought in different kelvin temperature. Less than 2000K: gives off a dim glow of light, similar to what you might find from candlelight; best for low light areas where ambient illumination is welcomed 2000K-3000K: gives off a soft white glow, often yellow in appearance; best for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and outdoor spaces 3100K-4500K: gives off a bright amount of white light; best for kitchens, offices, work spaces and vanities where task lighting is needed 4600K-6500K: gives off a bright amount of blue-white light, similar to that of daylight; best for display areas and work environments where very bright illumination is needed 6500K and up: gives off a bright bluish hue of light, often found in commercial locations; best for bright task lighting
Absolutely right, sky-blue colour will decrease melatonin excretion and melatonin known as anticarsinogen agent. Then, what about warm-white LED? It emits 2700-3000 kelvin colour temperature. Greetings from Indonesia

my room has normal lights but i also got led lights on my wall because they look cool and they're colorful and i always have them on. i'm 15 so maybe that's why they don't cause me headaches :/
Are infrared LED lights used in infrared saunas okay to use
Green light is actually being used successfully to help stop migraines
Thank you for the post! I wish this was being talked about more. I have noticed that my eyes hurt when driving at night and a car with LED is oncoming or right behind me.
Oh Yeah, those nighttime high intensity led lights are killer painful.
Umm don't look at them look to the side of the road I mean you should have learned that in driving school! Led lights on cars are far safer! Being able to see while driving saves countless lives!
@@natecote1971 You are by chance completely ignorant of the physical science behind LED lighting in comparison to more traditional light sources
You're smart. How are they now?
Do you know who (country) invented or created LEDs . And who sells/buys it the most ? Interesting. Connecting dots here. Thank you .
@@abraham3901 no idea at all, I do know that they use less energy, produce less heat than incandescent bulbs do, but that’s about all I know.

Give them my # lol i will.
You are not crazy! I too HATE LED !!! My health = 100% after replacing them with the old type incandescent light bulb.
And here we are in 2023 and you absolutely CAN NOT purchase incandescent bulbs in the big box stores.
Thanx! 😉
I HATE LED !!! My health = 100% after replacing them (LED) with the old type incandescent light bulbs.
Whenever I'm in a building that has the blue LED lights, I get a horrible headache and very nauseous. I have to get out of there as quickly as possible or I'll vomit. I am finding there are more and more places using this light. It's awful. :(
thanks for sharing Tricia - I'm happy to hear you have found the trigger!
Some people might be more allergic than others, though its harmful to all.
Thank you for this video ❤ I recently started learning about this. I’ve switched many lights in my home to incandescent and immediately noticed a difference. I’m very upset after learning about the incandescent ban.
I hate led lights. Incandesant are warm and make me feel better. Led lights are cold and depressing.
Yes!! I knew LED lights made me feel weird! After this video I hate them even more!
They changed lighting to led at her job ..she says everyone seems more mad ....and easily pissed off ..lol..
You are 100% correct !!!
@@jonofarc443 - Same story here !!!

Dr. Benjamin Snider
not all led's are blue where did you get your degree at a crack jack box...wow....there are different colors of leds on the kelvin scale as well as about the same as incandescent on cri. Love the misinformation.
The blue tinted headlights on vehicles are intense but they seem darker on the roadway. They also tend to be more blinding to oncoming traffic.
Good observation.
What about different colored LED bulbs such as red or orange, is that actually red and orange and a safe solution?
All LED is harmful. Colour makes a little difference
doesn't sunlight have blue light? & if so, is it a matter of the balance of blue & IR light in sunlight?
For years I heard how "too much sunlight could lead to macular degeneration".(??)
I think the bigger threat is using computers and smart phone screens, since that's ALL blue light.
I'm going to start wearing yellow tinted glasses when I'm using those, since (unlike an L.e.d. light bulb) you are staring directly at it for hours.
Yes it does - much more than any artificial light source (including LED) and it also has plenty of ultraviolet light, which definitely IS harmful.
If you don't tell us where to get the good light now, what is the point. It's so confusing
Daylight is the best for all creatures, as animals go to bed at dusk is a natural practice.
Now watching as ban on incandescent lightbulbs unfolds. Nanny state going too far on every front. Thank you for this informative video.
What kind of light is best for growing Mary Jane plants or should I refer to medical or Nurse Mary Jane plants?
Sprout with HPS or SOX, then use CMH - Ceramic Metal Halide for the rest. They produce heat, so it helps much.
Which bulbs do we get then? I live in a studio without windows...
Some experts suggest the old classic filament bulb, which is less if not least harmful. I would prefer candle, which is the best & natural way.

People need to be aware of this -
Can you also find ways to block this? And give recommendations on what type of glasses to purchase?
I would trust your opinion.
They are installing LED Lights in a lot of businesses and homes now - due to the Agenda 21 guidelines - and because people want to save money on their electric bills. They don't realize the health risks.
LED also causes issues with Melatonin - there is another video that goes into this with a physicist that worked for General Electric over 30 years.

What if you have foggy ceiling covers under lightbulb does that help??
Not sure what this looks like haha. Doctors say LED and CFL CAN'T ever produce a heathy light, with any amount of R&D. Switch them out with incandescent. The fixtures say how much Watts it can hold. or ask me
What do you say about halogen light bulbs. Are they better for the eye health as well? Thank you for the information.
Ever so slightly worse, but very good. I balance the pros & cons, and my needs when, and where, to use each lamp type.
What about looking at Laptop led screens?
My laptop has a setting for red light, originally for use at night, so you may want to check yours to see if you have it as well. Also, iphones have a red light setting too, and smartphones require an app (unless smartphones finally added the setting).
Red light from the sun is not what causes skin cancer. UV radiation that comes through the hole in the ozone layer, which was caused by CFCs and other synthetic compounds (now banned), is what causes skin cancer.
The hole in the ozone layer, was fixed by the power of the enviro-wacko wishful thinking, when actually, it was a fraud all along.
What are your thoughts on the led face masks currently on the market? Are the potentially harmful?

what about the hydroponics for indoor plant growing is that safe?
Interesting topic, I have many Hypothesis what could happen. I personally not a fan.

Please let me know if you believe that is the correct assumption according to your understanding of this.

can the led be filtered to make them safe? can I put a colored tape over the led to make it safe? has anything like this been developed yet?
I know people who have already done this with their l.e.d.'s, they just cover it with yellow acetate to counteract the blue. Then there are those yellow lense glasses they make for "night time driving", that would effective cancel out the blue light while using the computer, etc.
LEDs are safe. This blue light thing is just nonsense, given that our eyes can withstand the intensity of SUNLIGHT which has far more blue light than any artificial light source
edit: I've been living in a house entirely lit by LEDs for multiple years now and I've never experienced any health problems. I also use daylight LEDs for studying and I find that I study better under the cooler light. I don't doubt that blue light can disrupt circadian rhythm but it isn't dangerous

What long term research supports your position?
Hi Bill - thanks for watching. There is a link in the description that highlights some of the physiology behind blue light exposure. Best.
You are so wrong!
I don't know if infrared is as safe as NIR.
I live with Chronic Migraine - LED lights are my kryptonite (not fun).

can you use amber lenses to counter the blue light in LEDs such as down lighting and spot lighting?
thanks
I've been wearing amber blue blocking glasses for about 6 months now and I highly recommend them. I always wear them when looking at my laptop in the evening to block the blue light and it makes the brain think the sun is down. I used to have a hard time falling asleep and had insomnia for many years and now I usually fall asleep in less than 5 minutes.
Filters help/ trick. Truly it's still harmful
I'm not sure infrared from the Sun passes through normal glass?
What about adding more red LEDs to compensate the blue waves?
absolutely - that is a great idea.
What is the music at the end?
What about LED full spectrum grow lights? I have many house plants that I use these lights for in the winter months.
The doctor told us LED and CFL after all the research and development they can never be as good. I would be interested into an experiment, I have many hypothesis about what might happen, with plant lights.
This may or may not be true, but is there actual proof of harmful effects ?
Hi Claude - thanks for connecting and for watching the video. I have a citation in the description above. There are more but I found this to be the best summary. Best.
My family has been around LED lighting for around 7 years now and none of us have noticed problems.
Incandescent bulbs better?
I shined my led hand held floodlights on my indoor tv antenna. At my surprise the tv signal when out. The light completely blocked out the signal. I did wonder how safe led lighting is. Thanks for your video.
Great info, but could you please get a tripod.
Working on it :)
Are Red LED’s bad?
I need a lighting for dummies bookI guess but I thought incandescent bulbs were banned how are we supposed replace or go back to incandescent? I know they sell LEDs with different temperatures meaning different shades of light yellow or more blue inside of it is that what you mean get them LEDs with the lower temperature what has more yellow instead of blue? Thank you very much for your video
LED can be bought in different kelvin temperature. Less than 2000K: gives off a dim glow of light, similar to what you might find from candlelight; best for low light areas where ambient illumination is welcomed
2000K-3000K: gives off a soft white glow, often yellow in appearance; best for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and outdoor spaces
3100K-4500K: gives off a bright amount of white light; best for kitchens, offices, work spaces and vanities where task lighting is needed
4600K-6500K: gives off a bright amount of blue-white light, similar to that of daylight; best for display areas and work environments where very bright illumination is needed
6500K and up: gives off a bright bluish hue of light, often found in commercial locations; best for bright task lighting
So we can use red led lights???
Absolutely right, sky-blue colour will decrease melatonin excretion and melatonin known as anticarsinogen agent. Then, what about warm-white LED? It emits 2700-3000 kelvin colour temperature.

Fluorescent?
Well 7 years ago there used to be blue tint however now warm white and off white legs are also available so it's no more blue light. Chill
