Their revenue model is completely off that's what Nick is concerned about. Alternatively, they could use a subscription model where they charge the trainers on different packages depending on the users trained. They could also capture value in providing users with different trainers to choose from on a subscription model
I cant see any app subscriptions ever really working, far too easy to just cancel and they’re the first things to go when someone needs to save some money
i dont think it is a good idea at all, i have been doing les mills courses for 6 years and it is much easier and cheaper for the instructor/ gym to have a course room and do the courses using one sound system. How would you do the courses out doors during winter ? Also when doing zumba, the headset has to stay firm and not fall off when turning fast or doing sudden movements. If the headset stays firm it could end up hurting your head. With covid every headset has to be cleaned before/ after the course. Each headset has to be charged. If one of the headset fails to connect or loses connection, how do you continue the class ? In the past 6 years, i have seen often instructors' mic set losing connection and they just end up screaming from their lungs and the show still goes on... Secondly in order to be an instructor you still need to pass an exam, pay the monthly subscription at least in case of les mills to get access to the training videos/ license to music so why would someone wanna pay extra to get access to some headsets ? Most courses take place at gyms where they have large course rooms so acoustics is already in place, this is the standard norm you gotta go against and convince people to do something totally different i dont think anyone would be interested in this business model...
"How would you do outdoors during winter?" Did you not hear they wanted to be global? There's hundreds of thousands of places that don't have the cold. "With COVID every headset has to be cleaned before/after the course." You clearly haven't paid attention. They don't provide the headset. You provide your own. Do it via bluetooth. I assume there's a way to, overmobile data provide the bluetooth connection details so it's still managed through an app. The trainer would need to bring a special bit of equipment to allow so many connections. But, however many connections that equipment can take, just limit classes to that many people. Easy....maybe, I don't know if it is.
Zoom is inside and when carried outside, you have to rely on network connection, and data, but with an outdoor class in an enclosed space, the concept is useful
Seems that something is already off from the onset of the pitch also after they gave forecast 😕 Also, not everyone who works out are attracted to classes. Some can even find a list of practical exercises they can follow consistently. There's also heaps of apps available to track your progress
I saw multiple flaws in the product after their pitch. There’s lots of holes which deflate it to being basically useless. Wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t active anymore… Pun intended
Nick should have pushed that line of questioning further! Zumba could create their own app for outdoor lessons for a couple hundred thousand, instead of signing a long term deal with these guys that siphons off 5 million in the 3rd year
I can just download some exercise videos from somewhere (or watch on TH-cam) and play that without paying anything instead of streaming from their app. For that reason alone, I am out.

Very good app idea for fitness, in hence they would make more and more depending on how many instructors they can sign up, there is so many problems tho, what stops the fitness instructor who already does this from just keeping his customers, they can’t make money from the app, the fitness group is when they attend the instructor will tell them not to pay through the app and to pay him direct and he’ll be cheaper which everyone will take them up on, cut out the middle man after you’ve met the fitness instructor in your local area, plus it can be copied too…. Impossible to pull off.
i dont like app, its radio for exercise , but perter u cant say model has major flaw by saying, what happens if low coverage, same happens to instagram or facebook so ? even they are flawed ??
Right off the start, if you need the Dragons to validate your business, you most likely don't have a business worth investing in! If they were truly smart they would look at the AR potential of the app!
Deborah: I don't pretend to be an expert in this field at all, but I completely understand how this concept would work, but I've just realised that what I've said makes absolutely no sense, so I'm going to use Peter's example of network coverage to get out of this one so I don't sound like an absolute plonker.

Can't you just use Teams or Zoom for this? And instructors don't have to pay anything. Maybe I'm missing something
based on the iphone 4 model they used in the demo this probably predates zoom.
