I am also looking for a rotary mixer, as someone said this is mixing in its purest form. Nowdays, DJ-ing is not so much about the music, it is more about the show, looks and everything. For me rotary mixers present the step back in time, the step in time where there were no mobile phones, fancy light shows. There were only abandoned warehouses, dark nightclubs, good music and hypnotized crowd. This set really represents these things.
I just picked up the Omnitronic TRM 402, and love it. It's a great budget rotary mixer to get my feet wet, and see if I really want to drop more $ on a more expensive rotary that has more options.
These blends are so smooth!

Beautiful set. Might get that mixer soon. Already swapped my XONE 96 for PX5 but want to go more minimal. Seems like filters & master eq is all that's needed.

More than that, as others have said, your simple, clean style of mixing is really inspiring, diciplined and really letting the musical quality speak. Awesome work!
As a DJ ,I Suggest every DJ should try out a Rotary mixer ,it has a Different feel,but if you switch from a Xone 96 to this keep in mind this is Just a 2 channel mixer ,so bare that in mind
The 96 is half digital and half analogue...the difference from the 96 to the mastersounds is night and day....and even more so if you buy the valve versions.....the uprated psu take the mastersound mixers into the relms of making the 96 sound cheap.
@@alexsanchez3635 Rotarys ate a load of BS hype....I used vca mixers for over 25 years and only moved to a rotary out of curiosity and because I couldn't be bothered to wait another month for the vca model lol.
Rotarys limit cutting tunes about and in my opinion not as good....but I'm stuck with my 4v rotary and I'm not that fussed about changing my style plus I've got an xfader is the main reason I brought the mixer...
Do you ever miss channel eqs or an xfader? The MS valve 4 is way too expensive!
I would buy this in an instant if it had a cue/mix blend. I live in that blend...shame really because it has everything else I need/want and it is cheap as chips compared to other boutique mixers. The radius v has it of course but that is twice the price...
You will probably get used to not having it. Practice without it on your current kit.
So what exactly you hear in the phones ,only the cue? Im guessing if you disable the cue you can hear the main mix in your phones or you can mix only on monitors? Thanks as I’m thinking in buying this

You can cue both channels and adjust the mix by playing around with the gain of the incoming track
really nice tunes there mate, top mixing blending whats your opinion on harder dance like psy trance ? ok to use with this mixer ? i love this sound qaulity making me feel all happy inside...

A superb set. Thank you. Any chance you could ID the mix of Berkson & What - Keep On? I think it's the David Durango Remix, but can't seem to find it on vinyl? The label in the video looks like the B side of the main Dessous release (82), but it's not the Two Armadillos or King Britt mixes. Any help, vinyljunkie?

@@iamvinyljunkie Thanks for the quick reply - it might be pressed/labelled incorrectly then? If you search and play both of those mixes on TH-cam, it's definitely the Durango Remix in your mix. I've just bought the DES82 on Discogs, then listened to the mixes on TH-cam and thought 'Wrong Mix!'. The vinyl hasn't arrived yet - fingers crossed - it's such a tune!!

Nice mix, love seeing how different DJs use their Rotarys. Selling my DJR400 in for the ISO420.
Is that a Filter above the channel? No Highs, Mids, Lows?
Yes, only HP filter and isolator on master. That's all I need for smooth transitions.

Aa Hh....no point of you swapping mixers this highend...you're better off changing rca, speaker and xlr cables.
Do you ever get any skipping issues with the Shures? I think they sound warmer than my Ortofons.
No problem, I've been using these needles for many years. Unfortunately they are discontinued.

Shures are terrible sounding....no punch, and way too bassey, any of the ortofon range sound better, especially the nightclubs...
I am undecided yo buy a radius 2 or xone 92, any suggestion guys?
It really depends, are you comfortable using only a rotary knob and a hpf? Is the sound quality more important than the features? Is the lack of crossfader a deal breaker for you? As sound quality the radius is superios, but the xone has more "normal" features, to be honest a compromise between the two is the radius two valve, which has the mastersounds sound quality, rotary knobs, per channel eq and a crossfader but has no filters
Andrew Christian i had a omnitronic 202mk3, but a want to do a upgrade so I was undecided between buy another rotary (looking more sound quaility) or the xone with more features. I chose the radius! It should be arriving the next week
@@eduardojimeno9739 Be glad you did, I had a 92. It has more knobs to turn BUT phono levels suck, headphone output sucks, clickety issues when you engage the filter buttons. I had it for a few days and couldn't deal. I purchased Radius 4 bundle and never looked back👍 I learned to play on a Urei without 3 band eqs so the transition was fairly simple. Next purchase perhaps a stand alone Isolater..

@@iamvinyljunkie Thanks. Yet to hear the wow factor with my Mastersounds 2 valve. Due to average speakers, using Rokit 5 G4's at the moment. They are mediocre and also too small for the room. What have you been using? I reckon I am going to have to get 7 or 8 inch drivers.
@@djdave29 I hated my studio monitors for jamming . I use a half decent set of bookshelf speakers with an 8 inch sub now and really enjoy it .
@@djdave29 If you can't hear the wow factor on cheap speakers, then it's a waste on more expensive ones as regards to your ears.
Tbh an expensive mixer is a waste on a cheap set up....
My set up is around 25-30 grand....let's just say I heard the difference from an A&H 96 to the MS 4v and yet again when I got the uprated psu...
Rokets only work well when used via the xlr cable other than the rca cables but they are still cheap sounding speakers.....Adams are loads better or what someone else said just a decent pair of speakers and amp will be loads better...a pair of kef cresta and a cheap rotel amp will blow away any rokets....
