  • A short film showing the current state of the Lord Line Building on St Andrews Dock in Hull. The film is mainly aerial, showing the outline of the original dock and the poor state of the buildings and surrounding land. There's also a couple of stills, showing how it looked in the 60's and early 70's.

Thanks for including the Boston Building on the bull nose. I spent many days there during school holidays in the late 60's when my dad took me to work while my mam did afternoon shift at Northern Dairies.
I seem to remember it as mostly unused even then. Only the occasional trawler stopping to refuel and little else going on there. This seems odd looking back as it was before the major collapse of the industry and I would have expected it to have still been quite busy.
My dad's main job seemed to be dipping the tanks, and cleaning Sir Basil's Rolls Royce. I used to be mostly fishing or wandering around the dock.
Only a few years later I would be working on the dock fitting out trawlers. Serving my time while the industry collapsed around me.

What a sad ending to a once proud Fish Dock "Saint Andrews" all we have now is the Arctic Corsair trawler :(

Thanks Rich, thought I'd capture it before it's either knocked down or it falls down. First time out this year with the drone.
