    Took your advice and ended up drafting Ethan Murray a SS from Duke, in 2023 in my Dbacks sim. I’ve seen Murray play in real life he’s a little under 6 ft, but in the game he grew to be 7”8 and is now the tallest athlete in American sports history ever. Didn’t notice his height until after I signed him

      But he turned out to be a Cal Ripken JR clone, solid defense and very good hitting and hasn’t missed a game in 4 years so far.

    Have you considered making a player development guide where you draft a player and show an example of how you would promote/demote/develop them on their MLB path and show the results?
    That’s the hardest part about youth players to me lol

      I've covered these things in some different videos on player development and drafting, but I haven't followed the path of one player in a single video. Watching a play through of a sim is probably the best way to do that, since it takes so much time from drafting until a player is up and producing at the MLB level.
      Is there anything specific about developing a prospect that gives you trouble?

      @@OOTPaddy I’m just not sure if I’m moving them too fast or too slow, I don’t know if I should go off stats or overall rating. I always end up with a minor league where each level has 10-11 red arrows at all times and 1 green arrrow which is my underperforming prospect hitting like .203 in AA and it wants him to go to the MLB

      Pretty sure you saw this one since you commented on it, but in this video I talk about why a player may be underachieving in the minors if he's unhappy with the level you have him playing at: th-cam.com/video/NtP-CjPscGs/w-d-xo.html

    Finding draft picks that are 100% ready for the MLB, bar experience, is quite common in OOTP22. At least in my saves so far.

    • @OOTPaddy
      @OOTPaddy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, that's been an issue I've seen people post about. I've noticed players are more developed and develop quicker, but have not run into many guys that are 100% ready. But, apparently that was addressed in the patch this week.

      @@OOTPaddy ah right. are patches usually saved game compatible or would it need a new save to play with the new patch?

    • @OOTPaddy
      @OOTPaddy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the issue. Some need a new game and some don’t. I haven’t looked at this patch yet, so not sure about this one specifically.

      In the last two drafts I have done, I found a closer and center fielder that were both MLB ready. I started them at AA where they tore it up and worked them into the majors by May of year 2

    • @OOTPaddy

      Is this since the new patch or before?

    How did you get so many solid SP prospects? My drafts are always a bunch of RP, that have high ceilings admittedly, but very few SP choices.

    • @OOTPaddy
      @OOTPaddy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm not really sure what would cause that, Kenneth. This was the default 2022 draft class, prior to the patch that came out yesterday.

    The AI is getting much better at picking two way players. Guys I've had an eye on have been snapped up by other teams much quicker than in past years. I've even had my scouting director recommend picks to me and my first though was, wtf this guy is useless, until I check and saw that they were a weak batter but had solid pitching ratings (and vice versa).

    • @OOTPaddy

      It’s basically the suggested amount for a player drafted at that position. Here’s a little more detail: www.google.com/amp/s/www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/heres-how-much-money-the-2021-mlb-draft-picks-can-make-in-signing-bonuses-11626112369

      Oh right, right. I remember him as a Ray primarily. As I was recording this, I was picturing a white sox catcher but I’m not sure now who I was thinking of.
