A short video showing as much as I could of #Oldham's new #Odeon #Cinema, a stunning new life for the old town hall. I made this to include in an episode of Now We're Talking on That's Manchester.
I went tonight.. just 48 hours after it opened. We were really pleased Oldham opened something positive at last. If Odeon don`t act the young slobs of Oldham will destroy this place within months. When we were waiting for the film we were surrounded by mess and piles of popcorn everywhere, drink spills had already stained the floor. There was 3 lads about 12 to 14 in a movie that requires them accompanied by parents if under 17.. they were messing about through the film.. not 1 member of staff came in during the 2 hour film to patrol and I had to tell the little shits to be quiet. We then went to use the toilets and they were unusable due to a full toilet roll shoved down the bowl and a McDonalds cup in the other.. teenagers male & female were running a mock even at 11:30 at night. All the staff are virtually kids themselves.. there was NO security and NOBODY supervising the place.. it wasn`t even that busy. I won`t be going here again as I knew this would happen. I feel sorry for Oldham, even when you give the people something great they just spoil it.
Sons and daughters of the same people who used to visit the Roxy I guess. But don't generalise please ("when you give the people something great they just spoil it"). The majority of people in the town don't behave like that and this trash exists in every nook and cranny of this blighted country.
Thank you. I was wondering how they'd done it up and what it looked like. Not seen that old building for years since moved to Manchester and it had stood empty for so many years. They've done a good job. Glad that they mixed old with new and didn't just gut the place.

your so right we try and make things nice but what's the point of it if someone is going to wreck or spoil it for others

Omg I rember that floor I often had to deliver briefs / letters from the solicitors office I worked for and those stairs :-)
