I have MS and I am a reseller. I don’t sell a lot of things but it keeps me going, and supplements my income. I can work at my own pace and run my business however I see fit. The reason I am replying to this video is the fact that a few years ago I ran across this video of a single mom who supports herself and family by reselling things that spark joy. I immediately began watching these videos religiously and she gave me the courage to jump in and begin reselling. I watched her ups and her downs, I met her children, critters friends, and proclaimed myself part of this lovely family. She lives life on her own terms and accepts responsibility for her blunders and celebrates her successes. She is real, and she is my friend. You don’t always know whose life you are influencing, but trust me Danni you have made a huge impact on my life. We all face rude and toxic people because well some people just suck. But at the end of the day we have to be kind and tolerant, but not a pushover. Thank you for you. God bless you and your family. (Now I am carefully stepping off my soapbox)

Just the other day a homeless guy walked in the thrift store while I was shopping. He started crying saying how fearful he was about the temperature dropping that night. I walked up to him & told him I’d buy him a coat & blanket. The employee who sorts/prices came out & raised his voice, pointing his finger at me saying “stop this, you don’t understand how fast this situation can turn into something dangerous”…… I lost my temper & yelled back. I was so angry at how awful he treated us. I’m a social worker & work in the inner city with the most severely sick. I’m in this thrift shop 2-5 times a week on my lunch break. Everyone who works there is so kind except this guy. Ugh, it bothered me much more than my job which is very stressful. I don’t understand why people just can’t be kind. Thanks for this channel Dannie, it’s my coping skill ❤.
I sure hope you continued on and bought the things for him, I'm glad you yelled back at him. WHAT does he think a thrift store is for??? You should talk to management and have him fired. What a terrible way to look at people, wanting to help other people. God Bless you.

Dannie, you are a sweetheart! Please don’t let people ruin your fun and talent teaching us. I’m sorry to hear you have chronic pain. Pain isn’t always seen, but, it is felt. I have lived with several types of chronic pain. My pain like you doesn’t stop me from being nice and courteous. Takes less to be nice than being mean. I had a stroke on 5/11, I had one nurse come into my room often because I was cheerful, smiling. I felt I was blessed. I was alive, no paralysis. We need to be thankful for what we still have and are blessed with. ❤

I am an oldie 73 yrs young and lived thru better times when others had respect compassion and kindness. Now i can tell you I am saddened as to how this world we live in has changed and has become ugly and no answers or reasons come to mind. I am like you Danni I don’t want to hear any excuses for others rudeness. Uggh. Great video thanks. Nothing has stopped you yet so keep on trucking.

As to why the world is now so ugly, the answers are found in prophesy in the bible, The true and living word of God. Not many churches teach prophecy anymore as unless you study it, it is hard to make out what it's all about. We are now living in what God describes as the last days before the church (followers) of Christ Jesus are taken out of this world. Then comes the tribulation that unbelievers who are not saved will have to go through. Seven years of terrible times that this world has never seen before. The beast (satan), will fool many but also many during this time will come to Christ Jesus. Satan knows very well that his time now is very short and he is behind all the hatred and terrible things to come. If you are not saved (believe that Jesus is the son of God, admit you are a sinner and repent for those sins and accept Jesus into your life) sadly you will become one of those who will go through the tribulation. As I said, many will realise during this time that Christ is King and give their lives to Jesus, but the beast will see to it that you have to die for your faith. Time is short, believe, repent and get saved now. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Was there a time when your life was falling to pieces but you made it through? That was not luck, that was Jesus, trying to get your attention. God is good. Do not be fooled, good works will not get you into heaven but a relationship and faith in Jesus will. This is where the catholics get it so wrong. Do not rely on the teachings of man, but seek The Lord through His word, The Holy Spirit will help you see clearly and understand scriptures. When you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever belieth in Him, would not perish but have everlasting life. God Bless you, I pray you seek Him before its too late. 🙏❤️

Danni you know you're doing something RIGHT when someone that supposedly dislikes you TAKES the time to not only watch your videos but to take the time to leave a RUDE comment. Those people are unhappy and bored. Plz don't let them get to you. SO many love you! I know how you feel. I was that kid and am in chronic pain from my double mastectomy. Always trying to make others happy. Just don't forget to make yourself happy and that's ok❤

It's unfortunate that so many angry people are concentrated in one place. I too have chronic pain from an accident many years ago, thrifting is very enjoyable and relaxing for me as well. Just do your best Danni. It has taken me a while to find my niche but I think I've got it. I've tried selling things that other sellers do well on, but just doesn't work for me. Took a while but that's ok.
I don't have a dark story, but I remember a couple of years ago, going to a thrift that had a piano for sale, among other instruments. I noticed a small older gentleman kind of shuffle up to the piano bench and sit. He proceeded to play a concert of songs for the next hour. I was mesmerized!
Danni, you are smart! Continue doing what you are doing! Don’t question yourself. Just listen to positive comments. Ten negative comments are from unhappy people. There are a lot of angry, unhappy people. They just like to psss it around. If they do not like your channel, then why are they watching! That is what I do not understand. Keep going, my friend!

For sneaker soles, you can clean with a magic eraser and shaving cream. My favorite item from the shopping trip was the horse weather vane, and then I saw the recap---wow! So many people no longer feel societal pressure to be civil, and are emboldened to express their inner nastiness outwardly, because it has become almost normalized. I don't know how we, as a society, can change that. But we can each, personally, try to remind ourselves not to respond in a way that adds to the harm they cause. And we can remember that their behavior is a reflection of who THEY are, not who WE are. Take care of yourself. 💞💕💞

Oh Danni, don’t ever doubt that you’re not a strong and wonderful treasure of a human being. We see it in your videos. We see it the way you live your life, run your business, and there’s no denying you are a gentle, kind and generous soul. It’s sad the way the world is changing, not for the better, but maybe we can learn something from that. We can be and do better. If enough of us take on that attitude, then maybe we can change things back to the way they used to be. Everyone has anxiety and doubt themselves every now and then no matter who they are. Always remember you’re not alone in that. I have taken so much inspiration and sage advice from watching you and I must thank you for that. ❤️ I also live with pain daily having CFS and hearing now that you have Crohn’s just makes me think even more of you. You do what you do and you are who you are even though you are coping with this condition? You are a rockstar. One thing my grandmother always told me and I always remember this. I think some of the problem is that people think they deserve more than they really deserve and they get mad and mean when they don’t get their way
The snoopy is a nursery room organizer usually for diapers and baby accessories , also it usually hangs on a door or in a closet.

I cant take all the meanness that people are dishing out. I would rather just leave the situation if I can. I just had an experience that brought me back to school as well. I was also bullied, from grade school through high school. Anyways, 5 weeks ago, I fell & broke my hip. So of course I ended up in the hospital having a partial hip replacement. I also have a feeding tube for another condition & it was accidentally pulled by one of these nurses when she was changing the gauze. I asked to contact my surgeon who worked @ that hospital. Two days later Im taken to Interventional Radiology to have my feeding tube replaced but not by my surgeon. This surgeon argued with me that my size tube does not exist. So I told him to contact my surgeon to find out the size & he refused. He ended up placing a tube that was not to be used for feeding, it was used to just keep the tract open. So the next day another surgeon comes in to check on me & he was livid that I was not given a tube that I could use. I asked if he knew my Surgeon & he did. He had him in my room in 20 mins & my tube was changed in 5 mins. Next thing I know, I here one of the nurses say 'Can you believe that Stacie just threw us under the bus?' I never said anything about them to anyone! But they assumed that I had. So next thing I know is that they are having me transfered to a Rehab facility. They ignored my calls except for once when I told them that I need help packing . They said they would be in there soon but know one came. I had to ask the people that came to pick me up if they could pack my stuff. When we passed the nurses station, they put their heads down & looked busy. I know it may not sound like a big deal to most, but when you were bullied for all of your school career & then you get it from the nurses & the surgeon...it really takes you back. I didn't say anything while I was there, but when I was sent the questionnaire by text....I really through them under the bus then. It doesn't feel good, but one of the nurses was an authority figure & they were all so loud @ night. It sounded like a bunch of high school kids. They needed to know what was happening on her watch.
Im sorry this is so long. Im also sorry that you're are having to deal with mean/rude people as well. Its really getting out of hand.

I have experienced mostly nice folks, but the ones who are verbally and physically aggressive have frightened me to the point where I rarely leave my home. I have mobility issues and rely on a walker and store scooters. This makes me a victim waiting to happen. When I have needed assistance with bags, getting cart back into store or putting my rolling walker into car some have demanded payment to help and I can tell you a young person has never wanted cash before helping. My world gets smaller daily. Those of you who can help, please do so and be courteous. It costs you nothing, and smiles are always free.❤
Thank you for your videos and the knowledge you share. ❤ Hubby and I were talking about how negatively aggressive people can be. We’ve noticed escalation since 2000. I call it the cellphone mentality, the belief that one is alone in their own little micro environment without consideration for others. How many times have you been in a public place and been subjected to a completely inappropriate conversation on the individual’s cellphone speaker? We say 18 or 80 years old and shake our heads. You mentioned being pushed, bumped or shoved, add to that having an establishment’s door let go right in one’s face. We as I know you model polite curtsy when out in public. Kindness matters return the cart, pick up your trash, keep your conversations private, say excuse me and thank you.
I watch you because of your personality, and you seem to not be afraid to talk about your faith 🕊️

During the height of Covid, I was looking at hard goods, and a huge man in every way wanted to be where I was. He began nudging me with his cart. I said, please just give me a moment…. He began fake coughing on the back of my head so hard my hair was moving!! So, I left, got the manager- needless to say the coughing giant bought nothing that day at the goodwill. People are nuts.

My most interesting experience was that I had found a Christmas plate worth $100. I tucked it in the bottom of my cart, under a couple other things. I walked over to the next isle, and when I came back to my cart, the plate was missing. A woman was walking past me with my plate in her cart. Let me tell you I got that plate back quick and learned a lesson: never leave my cart unattended!
OMG, did you have an altercation with the lady? Was she embarrassed when you caught her at all or did she apologize? I had a Woman that I know is a reseller grab something out of my cart when I went around the corner too and the look on her face when I came back was kind of like oops I got caught. She said she was just looking, but I know she would’ve taken it and walked away had I not seen her doing it. People are just brutal at the Goodwill!
My story about cart thief’s is similar. I found a vintage world globe and put it in my cart. I always keep a hand on my cart so I felt it move as I was bent down and looking at books on the bottom shelf.
I looked up to see a man walking away with the globe! I told him,
“Excuse me, sir but I’m buying that!”
‘How long you been in this store?” he asked.
I told him 30 minutes.
He said he had been there longer than that so therefore the globe was his!
His reasoning didn’t work with me.
Wow…. The AUDACITY of that man.🤨

I am pretty new to the world of “thrifting” TH-cam videos and follow only a few creators. Your inner light spoke to me immediately as I’m sure it has with many of your other followers. I am currently challenged with a chronic illness that is not only new to me but to our world as well. Right now my life is pretty restrictive and your videos help to make feel part of a larger community. I applaud your honesty and stand beside you as you speak your truth. I tell my health team, “Yeah, at times my life can really suck and on those days I choose to not interact with the world because I have no right to inflict my warrior bitch attitude on anyone else.”

Be sure to look into alternative medicine - natural things you can do to control - not sure what you are dealing with but I learned early on doctors are so busy they don't think outside the norm for treatments!
I hear you Danni! People have become so MEAN, AGGRESSIVE and just down right HATEFUL these days!! It upsets me that people don’t seem to care about others anymore. So much DISRESPECT! It is really sad. Even my 97 year old Grandma is questioning what this world has become. I have so much empathy for others, that at times it just makes me cry. Each day needs to be treasured! Just be KIND people!!! Spread kindness in each and every day. It can just be something as small as complementing someone, helping someone get something off a shelf in a store when you see them struggling. It can also just be giving someone a bright smile! Society has also become so crude. Regardless of generation, many people can’t speak without using the “f” bomb. I stop listening when this comes out of someone’s mouth.

I live in a small town in Ohio and we have a little Goodwill I walked in and saw this beautiful Christmas fireplace cover. I took it up front and let the lady know that I would be purchasing it it was too big to fit in the cart. Then a bunch of Amish people come in which they do in our store and they'll come in at 10 to 15 people at a time and they just swarm everything at once I have no problem with this I love the Amish it's just how they happen to shop at the Goodwills and it's all men . Two of the men really wanted to get the fireplace cover and they kept trying to take it one of them finally just threw $10 on the counter and started walking out of the store with it. I wasn't even up front so I didn't know this was going on but evidently the people from the storage room came out and stopped him in the parking lot and told him that if he took it he wouldn't be allowed back in the store and they would ban the whole lot of them so he returned it the cashier told me about the drama when I came up to pay came up to pay I was pretty shocked
I was in a thrift store shopping with my granddaughter on a very busy day. I am in a power chair as I am bed ridden but my granddaughter said let’s go shopping. I was looking at hard-goods waiting my turn to see something I try to stay out of peoples way even in restaurants but I moved up when there was an opening to see something and I heard someone say “she shouldn’t be in here with that chair when it’s busy”. I cried a little drop my granddaughter ask the problem which I dare not tell her that would make it worse she’s very protective. But I’ll never forget that comment because I’ve never ever treated people that way. Love your show you get me out shopping. Love you Danni. 😊

I to have Crohn's disease & rheumatoid arthritis and do not discuss my ailments, pretty much never. Being rude, egregiously aggressive & just down right mean is unacceptable regardless of your situation or circumstances. You are 100% correct that people have become extremely unkind. Honestly I blame a lot of on social media where it has become the norm to express yourself in undesirable way/ways. Dani you do you & don't let the Bast*rds get you down. Life is much shorter than we think & we're all just trying to get through this life with grace & compassion. Be Kind & Do Better than those who are not. The Bible actually says at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 that in the last days people would be lovers of their own selves (they don't care about other people), fierce, despisers of those that are good. That's just a few of the traits and attitudes we see so much of now. Don't let other people's actions get to you. They must be very unhappy people to act that way. It's good to find people like you who are working hard at being a caring and loving person. Keep doing your videos. I look forward to watching them!

Second comment you are so right Danni, the world is self absorbed driving, shopping sharing the sidewalks waiting in lines. I too suffer constant pain and I am also a carer for my husband. I try always to be kind and appreciative to everyone. However it is my personal faith in Jesus that is my strength.

Danni, you are awesome, and I so enjoy your videos. I have to admit I sometimes yell at the screen when you mis-identify something that I'm familiar with or put something back because "it doesn't sell," but that's all personal experience. I'm almost 20 years older than you, and in the last 8 years, we've had people come into prominence that have made nastiness ok. My neighbor has a sign I need to get that says "Make America Kind Again". That says it all.

I am a believer and try to do my best to put on a smile and be a blessing to all those that meet me but some days it seems impossible.We are living in uncertain times and you just never know what will set people off. It seems that since Covid hit, people became mean, nasty and entitled. I decided to retire from my job as a health care worker in the dental field. People used to be so nice and caring. After Covid people were so mean and uncaring. I couldn’t take being treated poorly. It helped me decide to retire after 45 years. I’m a lot happier now. Dani we all love you and look forward to seeing you every day. You are a wonderful person and I really admire you! 🥰❤️

A lady went so far as to pull the fire alarm and while everyone was filing out of the store, she an her husband were raiding carts till the manager caught them and set things to rights, they were hauled off to jail.

If someone has had a negative upbringing it is hard to break that generational cycle if they are not seeing it. You are a sweet lady, doing a great job raising lovely children and critters. I really like the wood and metal framed blue/white outdoor looking piece with the hook,
too! I had something similar in the eighties that was antique. I hung it above the
door at the end of my hallway. This door led into the main part of my large studio apartment in San Franciso. B

You know best how to run your business and do a brilliant job. Aggressive behaviour is on the up here in UK too. I live near the seaside and holiday makers often push and shove in. I’m like you and have always tried to live and let live, but the world has changed. I avoid crowds as much as possible. We have 2 main supermarkets in my town, one was flooded out so all the customers were in my usual place. I got hit with baskets, rammed with trolleys and pushed out the way so much on one shop trip that I came home bruised. Being disabled and in chronic pain it was horrid. I was scared I’d be pushed over if I let go of my trolly!
Was plenty of food there, it wasn’t like pandemic panic empty shelves. Madness.
I hope you take heart from all the positive comments. As for ‘your mess’ who cares if things are a little or a lot untidy - life is for living not spending hours cleaning up! X

I actually have stopped going out, as much as I use to, because the anger, aggression and lack of respect is horrendous!! It really scares me😦 So much has changed, and unfortunately, not for the better. I miss when people were nice, polite, and respectful.

My experience at the Thrift Stores are pretty calm. No big altercations.
More people seem to be ignorant of their own experience and emotional life. It picks at them until it spills over in their relationships. If we are self aware, we can choose, like you, to be loving and kind. It’s hard to not let negative people control us but it’s worth the work. You are beautiful!
I know it easy for people to say. Don't let them get to you. You're a great teacher. I have learned so much by watching you. I have had people take things from my carts. Choice is the correct word. There are a lot of folks who choose to be bitter through different situations--others in the same situation would pick themselves up and just get on with life.
