been watching your stuff since evo 2018 (which i attended and was blessed to have sat through the full Sunday) . I recently bought a used qanba q2 pro (with brook adapter to ps4) and this vid showed me that i made a good buy (initially i bought it to try stick for gg xrd rev 2 and it seemed nice for 25$). thank you for doing what you do... and keep it up!!!
This is a fantastic stick i bought 3 yrs ago and still use it as my main stick today. Bought the madcatz te2 for sfv when it came out ($300!!! rip off) and it does not always work without issues and the joystick seems to fade after an hour or 2 of playing on it.
@@Quran_eee, Panthera is the best fight stick out now on the market and will be probably for a good couple of years. So if you are looking for the best stick. go with the Panthera.
I picked up a pair of these from the eightarc booth at NCR 2015 for $100 each. I've got one of them octo-modded (PS4/PS3/PS2/PS1/OGXbox/360/DC/PC) and it works great for everything.
Maybe it's just me but it seems like I can't do quarter circles to the left very well. It seems like I do down then left and I keep missing the diagonal left. Then again I am new to this so it might just take some time. Overall, it's solid. I love the weight and the size and overall cleanness of the layout. Before you buy it, be smarter then me and use a promotion code that you can easily find by browsing around google and youtube. I found one for about $15 off after I already purchased and received it.
thanks man. what game do you playwith it? so for example on street fighter 4 down back (donw left) with ryu does spinning kicks.. itdoesnt work well? ALSO on the site, there "out of stock" abd on amazon they dont ship to australia :'( but im still trying my hardest to get 1 lol
yes exactly. I play usf4 as well. Then again it could be just how I play because I haven't heard any one else have the same complaint. they might be sold out for a while. keep watch usf4 and they're through up pomps for discounts for their products
Some of the Qanba parts are really similar to Sanwa. Now that is said, I am assuming here the Sw-68 sanwa button microswitch would most likely install in the Qanba buttons well (simular to other All Qanba parts arcade sticks).
I can confirm that the ps3 (NOT Xbox 360) version of this stick works on a Mac running OSX mavericks. Plug and play with no drivers needed. ( I haven't tested Windows) It's a safe bet that all eightarc ps3 fightsticks also work in Mavericks.
@@Quran_eee they're all pretty similar. It depends on what you want. This provides aesthetic, the Ibsidian I'd more standard, and the Panthera (original, not EVO) provides easy access to modding. I personally chose and only have the Panthera, so looking for other's opinions is better. Good luck!
I build arcade sticks out of antique cigar boxes and other repurposed boxes. I use sanwa parts and a board appropriate for what or who I'm building for. Most people think the boxes I use look awesome.
This stick is so perfect, the only problem is that it is a one player setup. They should build this for two players and then it would be even more perfection.
Great video! Do you know if the lights can be toggled off? And I was wondering if its compatible with PS4? I'm new to fightsticks (coming from melee) and want to get a decent one for street fighter 5, and this looks perfect for my long hands.
Hodgy Ah darn. Well hopefully it will! Making every sfiv player switch to a new stick for a new console seems crazy, but i guess that's just how the cookie crumbles. Thanks for the reply!
Souna I suppose it is time..I actually bought a qanba q2 glow on ebay recently, so its great to hear its compatible with legacy sticks! I'll be on the lookout for a cheap ps4 stick
If they were swapped and the normal version was white while the Evo version was chrome, you would see people lusting crazily after the Evo version. chrome > not chrome It is known.
im sure i can get this to work on pc, which i'll mostly be using it for if i get this, but would this work on xbox one, i'd love to play tekken 7 using this it's coming out soon
I asked this question to many people with regard to my Qanba Q4(which is a dual modded stick, and a good one i might say). The anwser i got from most people is that they will work on PS4/XboXOne.
Ashir Most Sanwa gates have a clear main section (about 3 in/5 cm in diameter) and then a colored pop-out inner section (about 1 in/2 cm in diameter). If you want to switch from square to octo (or even circle) you can just swap out the small inner section. However, the Qanba gate is all one piece (it doesn't have a pop-out center), so you need to swap out the whole thing.
redvenomweb So... normaly I just buy this www.amazon.com/Sanwa-GT-Y-Octagonal-Restrictor-Joysticks/dp/B004AU0H4U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428625807&sr=8-1&keywords=sanwa+gate and it's done, but with this I need something else???
Ashir No, that's the only part you need for this stick. If you had a normal Sanwa square gate, you would only need to replace the yellow pop-out insert in the center of the item you linked.
can you help me out? i want a fast stick with no input-delay thats durable and the size should be a bit smaller than the average, so something like the datel or the Hori street fighter 4 stick (and 8 buttons) what stick would you recommend for me?
According to tests, the fastest stick is the Hori VX-SA. I don't know if the VX-SA Kai uses the same pcb, but the VX-SA is still on www.ArcadeShock.com. You can dual mod the stick with the Phreakmods cerberus (no connector version) for a complete, lag-free stick. I heard the Razer Atrox is pretty fast too. Tbh, the slight ms input delay is pretty much irrelevant in the long run.
I won't not listen to Tavis Taite... the PCB on VX-SA only lasts for a few months... also you will want SANWA parts.... any Madcatz TOURNAMENT EDITION (make sure it says TOURNAMENT EDITION WITH SANWA OR DO NOT BUY) will last you forever... all my friends have been using there TE sticks for over 4 years now with absolutely no problems or modding. Enjoy.
Guys i just bought this stick have had it for two weeks IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS COMPETITIVE GAMER these buttons and stick DO NOT FEEL NOTHING LIKE SANWA but more of the stock format of a old madcats SE fightstick this stick is FOR SHOW it looks great lights up and everything good to have as a spare stick but dependa on ur level of skill if. RISE FROM THE GRAVE! Sorry Aris, but it kinda just irritates me when people talk shit about modders like they're a bunch of shady guys just trying to scalp the community. I know you're not a big stickler for customization when it comes to your sticks, and not everyone is, so that's fine. If you're just wanting to have a stick to just play the game and you don't give a shit what it looks like, that's fine, and that's respectable. However, your friend paid $200 to have LEDs put in, but you want to degrade modders over that because you can get that out of the box with a Qanba? I don't like this for a couple reasons. Yeah, awesome, Qanba has good knockoff Sanwa parts that they threw in the stick for the LEDs to shine through. Props to them, and it really makes them look good. But like evidenced in this video, the Q2 Glow is very limited in the customization options of said LEDs, not just in patterns, but colors as well. What your friend most likely paid for was something like the Kaimana board or the ArcEye/remora combo, which are capable of full-scale RGB (we're talking a megaton of color combos), and the boards themselves of capable of very precise/customizable LED patterns. So essentially the possibilities are boundless there. So for people that are just satisfied the the LED functions of the Q2 Glow? Get one, for sure. Other modders would say the same. But considering the amount of work that goes into wiring these up (hours on end hunched over a worktable), yeah the $200+ is worth the price if you want the high end shit. A lot of that is going into parts, including getting the boards, by the way. Plus, for the highest end modders (Which I'm assuming a great deal in saying he went to one of those), if you crack open the stick, you'll see the cleanest wiring anywhere. Which I'm sure for you doesn't mean a lot, but in the technical community of the game, this is as important as the outside of the stick itself, and is sort of like the tuner car community in a weird way. But your opinion of that being highway robbery is fine, which would make you more inclined to get one of these and just save the money. But some people DO want that extra glitz, and will pay for it if they can't wire it themselves. That's also fine IMO. No sense to bash the modders for providing that service. Otherwise, your review was pretty good. Taught me more about these sticks than I knew before, and had avoided despite being in China and able to pick one up cheap if I wanted, because I knew they weren't Sanwa parts.
