How many units did you do
Hi, Belinda l did my matric in S. A just like you, please advise on how to apply for access courses in nursing
Are you in the UK.if you are you can apply for the access course in any college they will take tote transcript (matric certificate and convert your English and pure maths, not mathematical literacy) equivalent here in the Uk
Owk, l will do that but some said they don't take s.a students, l am looking to study in around manchester, did you pay for your fees since you an international student?
I don’t know about Manchester, enquire with the college I studied on tresham college and they had no issues taking me on as an international student. I paid my tuition fee in full
Thank you
Here l am , 39 🎉 feeling the heat in a few weeks into Access course nursing
You will be fine honestly. It will pass
I'm hoping to start an Access course at Tresham in September! It's my second one, but I thought the first one was way easier than uni
Which one will you being doing this time around
@@nurse_bellinda the health profession one. I think it will probably be harder than my first one which was more humanities based, but I'm doing it part time this time so I can keep working
Oh okay.. yeah that’s the one I did and I found it hard most probably because I didn’t have any science background. I also did mine part time so I could continue working full time
@@nurse_bellinda yeah I think I will find it harder as there are more science modules and that's not my strongest point 😬 how many hours were you working? Did you do it over 2 years?
Yeah I did it over 2 years because it took place in the evening twice a week. So afterwards I would go for a night shift lol 😆 crazy. I worked 3 12 hour shift a week
Can international students for access course online? If so which ones are credited and which course is best for dental hygiene
No online is not available for international students
I’m a guy , and a dream of mine has always been to help people . I want to study mental health nursing and I’m worried people will think it’s weird because I’m a male doing nursing . What are your thoughts of this ?
No not all you can study nursing as a male. It’s not a female job only and mental health nursing there is so many males that do that over adult nursing
There are many lovely male nurses!
@@nurse_bellinda hi I just thought I’d come back to this comment . I am more than halfway through my access course and start university in September . I did it. I took the risk and got the reward and I have got all distinctions so far . Thank you
What grades did you get in your access course, I am doing nursing and midwifery - I’m finding it intense but working hard to achieve lots of distinctions (120 ucas points needed for the uni I’ve firmed)
Glad you said the access was more intense than uni as I have been panicking if I could cope
my brother has applied with the exact same course, but he is nervous with the entry math and English exams they have provided, how can he prepare for the exam? would you say its easy or hard? what will the exam contain?
I didn’t find it hard because it was basic general questions both for nursing as well as for English..I would advice anyone to go over basic maths and English foundation information
Hi Nurse_Belinda 🤩 why am I only seeing this now 😩 anyway .. I have a few questions for you;
Did you self fund? Or got a loan? If yes how did you get it?
I have residence permit with Recourse to public Funds , will I be able to get a student loan/finance for my access course?
Hi,
Yes I did self fund because I was not eligible for any funding. I believe if you have lived here 3+ years you are eligible for funding
@@nurse_bellinda okay thanks 👍🏾
I just got a merit on my 1st graded course and it has upset me to no end 😢
Why? A merit is good
Is it? Sorry for late reply
I did secondary school in Nigeria so I don't understand the gradings here much. I just got a merit in unit 7 as well.
I have a question, assuming I make merit in all the graded courses, will that make up what I need for uni?
And also, credit wise, what is the difference between a merit and a distinction?
@@zinny7994 everything comes down to the university you apply to and their entry requirements. And the difference between Merit and distinction is that distinction is higher
this helped me sm
thank you so much
Is it safe to take Access courses online
Yes as long as it is accredited
@@nurse_bellinda thank you so much but according to my research I see that access nursing can be used between 1/ 2 years please do yu know if universities accept school fees in little bits (part payments)
Most universities allow for term payments.
wooow.. I am currently doing my access course and i feel like..."can i do this" loooooooooool....i asked my tutor....is this really a level 3 course looooooool....thanks again for your video...
It’s hard lol 😂 but you if you can pass the access course the nursing course is a breeze
@@nurse_bellinda 💃💃🕺💃...how is your studying currently going?
Good am just waiting to finish 🤦🏽♀️it’s been so long
@@nurse_bellinda 👏👏👏👏
What access course I need to do to be nurse
Access to higher education health profession
@@nurse_bellinda if I take access course nursing and Midwifery is it good
I applied access course nursing and Midwifery. Is this enough to go Uni. I want to do nursing
Yeah if it’s for nursing then it’s cool
@@nurse_bellinda oh thank you
If you intend on doing a Teaching course on Foundation Phase what's the way to go on about doing it in the UK? By the way I'm from South Africa
The same way access course to teaching however, as it’s teaching you will need to go and do English mathematics and sciences again as you didn’t do your English in the uk
Hello Nurse Belinda, thank you for this information. Can I use my First degree to apply into The Access course. Relocated to the Uk 3 years ago and I want purse my career in Nursing. How do I go about this ?
Many thanks
You don’t even have to worry about using your first degree as long as you have English and mathematics you can be accepted
@@nurse_bellinda Thank you so much for getting back to me.
Was there much maths in the access course?
Nope.
Has anyone ever done an access course to nursing online and had a positive experience with it ? So many mixed reviews ! Just wondered if anyone had passed doing it online rather than at a college ? 💗
I heard most universities don’t accept access course done online, so I don’t know you will probably have to do your research.
You can do it online as long as it’s a qualified diploma, look on the distance learning centre that’s who I’m doing it with.
@@Shookbanglol I’ve just started with the distance learning centre last week ! Im still finding it a bit confusing 😩 but hopefully I’ll get used to it ! Good luck 💗
@@abbeymac5518 yes it’s quite confusing, and I’m dreading the exams but hopefully it will go well, good luck as well
@@abbeymac5518 abbey are you still on it? How is it going so far? I’m registering this week. I’m so nervous!
Are you South African?😮💨
Yes I am
What if you did only one year of a two year level three diploma course? Will the HE course still get paid for? Thankyou for this video, it was very helpful. ❤️😩
Nope if you already done an access course according to my knowledge the student finance only pays for it once
@@nurse_bellinda thank you so much for replying, I was getting stressed because I can't pay right now xx
You can always set up an payment plan
@@nurse_bellinda yes! Im going to talk to the teachers on open day. Thank you youre helping out so many people x
Hey, how comes you didn’t just do A levels at that age ?
Because I didn’t want to
Nope not at all they actually serve the same purpose access to nursing is actually easier because you only have one subject to focus on rather then multiple subjects
Girl i knew you were South African 😂😂 i can hear it omg 😳
Lol 😂 The accent never goes away
Can we become doctor .?
Could you do a skincare haul. Your glowing! X
