Heyyy! There’s no chemistry in Midwifery so you don’t need that. Also if you get a pass in GCSE science that’s all you’ll need. I wasn’t good at science but I’m a midwife. It’s not heavily science based. Everything you’ll need to know to be a midwife you’ll teach you. You just need to figure out if it’s right for you x

@@NadineNayy How do you handle it when a women in labour starts screaming at you or is kinda on edge? Like women in labour sometimes get sort of bitchy (I dont know how to say it in a better way). I don't know if this happens often, but I can imagine it
I know you asked her, and not me, however I would personally try to assure my patient that they're doing great, and offer techniques to reduce the intensity of their contractions. i.e. a hot bath, putting mother in certain physical positions, etc. This is where birth doulas really shine...I'd like to think at least most other nurse midwives or OB/GYNs would react the same way.

I am currently in the course Health and Social Care, aiming to be a midwife, but I have a serious stage fright, and I don't like anything that comes with presentations. I want to become a midwife, though I went into Health and Social Care because my mom advised me to. Going into the course recently I found it interesting, but I don't know science or biology, because I did Art subjects in secondary school. I really want to succeed in this course and become a qualified midwife. Do you have any advice for me on effective study methods, books to recommend and things like that? Thank you😊. I like your videos they are inspirational.
I had my 3 babies and cannot get past the pull to be in that hospital to be actively part of that whole environment and being part of the whole labour and birthing process for other women. My biggest concern is, with three kids (all under 5 now) will I be TOO short on time to start midwifery? Would it be best for me to wait until all start school?

i’m applying to uni to do midwifery in a few months. I’m quite shy, will that be a problem? i’ve done about 170hr work experience in a care home and my communication skills and confidence have gotten sooo much better yet i’m still worried if i’m a tad too shy? or is it something that comes with time?
Hey girl soooo what about if i worked labor and delivery and HATED IT? I enjoyed the births and i loved the midwives birth! But i hated all the L&D things, the floor nursing part of things, and the unnatural things …i was fresh out of school, and L&D made me highly anxious . should i not pursue midwifery ?
Hi. I am in year 9 at school and they are putting a lot of pressure on us to decide the options as they are in a few months. Can you please tell me what the best options would be to take if you aspire to be be a midwife???
It’s important to pick the subjects you enjoy that’s the first advice I’ll give. And if possible pick health care subjects that will help your application. I picked health and social care, double science, a language, dance and business studies. X
Hey! I hope this isn’t too late to ask question, I’m wondering as myself being deaf person and I wear hearing aids I can communicate speaking/signing but cannot ring and that’s the only issue I have, is that a problem? Would it affect the job? Thanks! xx
Hey, I would advice that you ask the uni directly to see if they can make adjustments for you. This is something I don’t know about but if I find out I’ll defo let you know x
I wondering frist of all you can work in a hospital setting or outside of the hospital if you what to I hope that there more people to come in each an become in the Healthcare team there are no physician jobs out there and time for yourself you can work independently or with a hospital company it's a choose.

I love children and want to help them, I want to be a paediatrician when I grow up. :)
I’m in the 12th grade and I wanna be a midwife so bad but chemistry is killing me😩
I dont think you need chemistry for Midwifery
- ive completed one year of my degree and took a gap year after doing 6 weeks of second year due to my MH - i am so stuck on what to do as i thought this was what i wanted to do... :((
If this isn’t your life’s purpose, please don’t push it! If your heart isn’t in it you will cause harm later💖
I agree x
I love your videos, thanks for your time
Pleasure 💕
Very helpful video, thank you.
Thank you so much.
Your very help.
I been looking in to it.
Heyy,
No problem xx
I am fine with all of these BUT I can’t do blood work 😬 is that a problem with midwifery??
You’ll have to find a way to get used to seeing blood x
Good morning, thank you for this 😊
what if you have anxiety to talk because of a stutter (speaking disorder) is it still possible to be a midwife?
Yes it is x
thank u so much, this video was so practical for me❤️❤️❤️❤️
Glad you enjoyed it 💕💕
Aah I really want to become a midwife. Hope I can handle it🤞
I’m sure you can x
@@hannahb7038 Thank you! That sounds indeed like a good way of helping them
I feel that I like working in super stressful moments
Wait until you actually work in stressful situations you might change your mind 😅x
@@NadineNayy I hope not, I never wanted to be a midwife but I always wanted to help people. I'm glad that I found your channel god bless you

I can't decide which course to do... odp or midwifery. Thankyou for this video❤
Glad they can help ❤️❤️
Hi there thanks for doing this video bc you've just increase my love for this field with all you've said.i kind of get scared when it comes to using syringes but I know I will get through that. I need your help
You’ll get through it, they’ll train you x
im beyond stuck with what i want to do, im doing a 1080 lvl 3 diploma in animal management at the moment in my second year and start uni next year. im stuck between marine biologist and then midwifery. its difficult as they are so so different and the education is also very different, no clue which path to go. any advice really needed :)
Heyy, I would advice to study the subject you enjoy the most and will not regret doing x
What midwife student didn’t know that midwives deliver babies 😮??
Thank you for these videos❤️❤️
💕💕
I want to follow my sister🥰❤️, and also i wanna help other people like cleaning their blood!🤦🏼♀️🥴
Do what you love x
Regarding the 12hr shifts, how many do you do a week as you are studying ? And how many do you do when you are qualified ? Xx
You do the same shifts/hours as the midwife.
3 a week sometimes 4 a week x
@@NadineNayy in which year of college starts those shifts?
You go out on placement from 1st year x
when your on placement do you still do uni classes in the same week or is it just the 3/4 12hr shifts?
@@NadineNayyI read that average weekly hours are around 37.5, wouldn’t 3-4 12 hour shifts go over that?
18:21 but their are some professional doctors who really seems to hate people and get angry all the time like how my sister telling a story about them that she encountered . 😣
Don’t let others ruin your dreams x
Pls x that true that maybe my first-time delivery didn't go well I'm going to be sack from the job
That’s not true x
Okay thk u very much
i’m applying to uni to do midwifery in a few months. I’m quite shy, will that be a problem? i’ve done about 170hr work experience in a care home and my communication skills and confidence have gotten sooo much better yet i’m still worried if i’m a tad too shy? or is it something that comes with time?
Heyy, it’ll come with time. You’ll soon gain that confidence that you’ll need x
Don’t purse it if you don’t enjoy it x
@@NadineNayy thanks xx
Thinking of leaving midwifery as a student on the short programme, people just irritating AF here when i say ppl i mean the uni and the Midwives
Ohh that’s a shame 😩
@@NadineNayy u win some u lose sum...if it's meant to be it'll be!
Thanks for the information 👍 ❤
🙏🏾❤️
Is midwifery extremely scientific based? This sounds dumb but I’m 16 and trying to figure out if I want to do nursing or midwifery
Both are the same level of biology & maths (for drugs etc).
Hey, no it’s not x
nursing too isn’t really scientific based either
trying to decided between childrens nursing and midwifery currently..
They’re both different so do some research for both and decide which you prefer after knowing the difference xx
So cute and adorable my heable staff nurse
Excellent video.
Thank you.
🙏🏾🙌🏾
As a first year , I mean am now entering what hairstyle should I take in
Any I’d fine and long as it neat and off the uniform x
Thanks dear❤
Hi, great video I loved it ! ❤
How many weeks is each year of Midwifery degree, is it always 45 weeks or does it vary? X
Thank you 🙏🏾
Answer to your question will depend on the uni you go to and the structure they have x
Helloo I heard that if you get 2nd class lower in midwifery it becomes difficult for you to further to your PhD , masters how true is that?
Hey, I haven’t looked into PhD’s that’s something I’ll have to research x
@@NadineNayy Ookay please
Hello....my main goal is to be a gynecologist...but I'm thinking of achieving that goal through first being a midwife....
Kindly please tell me the steps that I'll need to go through from being a midwife to becoming a gynecologist....
Hey, all you’ll have to do is apply to the course directly after qualifying x
Omg I hate vomit😭😭😭 but i wont let that stop me from becoming a midwife😂🤷♀️
😂😂 that’s the attitude you need, 💪🏾trust me there’s a lot I had to get over x x
I need help. I want to be a midwife but the course are hard. I’m confuse but I love it
Think of this quote: ‘Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty’. It’s worth it but it’s not easy xx
It’s a rite of passage or trail by fire I think. Worth it I’m told.
Thanks a lot big sis

I’m in year 10 now and I have wanted to do it since I was a little girl what do your GCSEs have to be like ? ❤️
Make sure you have your maths English and science and then the rest you can decide which you want to do x
