I heard somewhere that the Flak 88 was so played up in wartime propaganda for the US forces that the misidentification of them was fairly common. I think it was from a time ghost video or the tank museum.
Eric Segraves so basically the 88 was to artillery guns like the Tiger is to tanks? Not as numerous as stated but so widely infamous it was commonly misidentified?
i just had a round as Wehrmacht, we mowed down everybody in the first like 5-6 landing crafts, they captured the beach only like 1 minute before the timer went out, they had no chance the first 15 minutes

In case you’re curious this is Utah beach. Omaha is the more famous one as OG was the most difficult to take thanks to its bunkers, increase artillery support and natural defences. It was the American landing point. The other beaches were Gold, Juno and Sword which were handled by the British and Canadians.
Umm, am I confused or is the beach “upside down”? When attacking the beach from west to east, shouldn’t left be north and south be to the right? It seems it is reversed in the map? UPDATE: I was confused and didn't know the area well enough. The map is accurate.
I noticed that too, and the sunlight was coming from the wrong direction as well. Judging by the sunlight they would have been attacking at like 8-9 PM, when the actual attack happened at like 6Am.

The thing is you want this game, when you watch this cool gameplay but when you play yourself it looks not that amazing, even if you try to communicate with teammates but it's 1 of 7 games when cool stuff really happens. So if you want to buy game, you better to have some friends to play with)
12th infantry regiment encountered S-mines on Utah. A raiding party landed 2 hours prior at Iles Saint-Marcouf which was fairly close to Utah beach also encountered anti-personnel mines. Rommel who was in charge of setting up defenses had also ordered anti-personnel mines be placed along the Atlantic wall, it would be odd for Utah beach to be specially excluded without any real reason.

My Saving Private Ryan moment on this map was I was Platoon commander behind the ridge on the beach, I asked the radio man to meet up with me, he gets next to me and as I'm calling in support *artillery and smoke* he gets shot in the face 😂😂😂 before I could finish. Best moment ever

Yeah, not many people know that a lot of the defenders on D-Day were old/weak/injured men and conscripts from other countries that were taken over by Germany.

Think I might pick this game up. I'm enjoying the hell of HLL right now with its gore and armour gameplay, but I have no problem picking up another quality WW2 game. I hope the comms are at least half as decent as they appear in the video.
How are you marking as squad lead without pulling up the Wheel? I'm always getting thrown into the squad lead pos (ppl dont like the role for some reason) and if I could figure out how to place markers without wheel that would save so much time.
Is the amount of radio chatter in this video normal for an average PS game? Or is this unusual? Because it seems really cool just how much actual communication is going on.

I realized while watching this that there don't seem to be any games like this with the Soviets. The closest I can think of would be Red Orchestra, but I think that's to far from this.

I bought RS2 for 8 dollars during the steam sale, and it's so fucking difficult. I never see where I get shot from even when I play it slow, and then when I do see the person who shot me, they are far quicker on the draw or they are just waiting for me. The only thing I get to do is see the muzzle flash before I'm helplessly gunned down or domed by a crack shot with a Mosin. Any tips for someone new to these realistic FPS games? I already take things slow, check corners and flanks, etc. If anything, I get shot as I'm doing that stuff.
Looks really good. But can't see it working without voip which I don't have. Also, are the Germans other players? Or is it collaberative players against AI?
I just have to say, D-Day would be terrifying enough. Being armed with a Tommy gun or a grease gun would make it even worse. That thing has an effective range of like 75 yards max. When you initially hit the beach you wouldn't be able to hit shit
