Suppression and gaining fire superiority is so huge in this game. Watching a tank spit out streams of MG fire into a hill to slow or stop an advancing enemy while your own troops rally around the flanks to pinch them, so sooo good. I witnessed that last night in a match. Also running through a tree-line with like 5 squads worth of people advancing on an enemy position just on the other side of the forest. Then you see a line of enemy troops doing the same thing coming at you, suddenly your commander calls in a line of artillery and you watched the forest explode in body parts and explosions as the enemy line is ripped apart. Another thing I witnessed in a match last night (same match as above actually). There are so many amazing moments in this game, things I didn't get in Post Scriptum. HLL is like playing Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers. I had more of those amazing moments in just a couple hours of HLL that I didn't get in 50 hours of Post Scriptum, and I really enjoyed PS as well, so that's saying a lot.
I haven't played either so could you explain where the difference lies between the two as you have described? What's keeping PS from being like HLL as you described?
@@the_corvid97 Hey, so the other people commenting I agree with. I'll add my opinion here. I have about 45 hours in Post Scriptum and only 4 or so in Hell Let Loose. The simplest way I can put it is that Hell Let Loose is like being inside the movie Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers. In PS Squads have a bigger impact, but they typically work more often as a individual squad, vs HLL where individual squads have less impact, but usually multiple squads work together to form lines, advances, etc. Hard to explain I suppose. Basically, a bad squad in PS is going to have a larger impact than a bad squad in HLL. I think this is in part because of the HLL having a higher importance on suppression/fire superiority. A bad squad in HLL can still shoot their guns in the direction of the enemy and suppress. HLL also has more cannon fodder moments, where it's about more bodies moving in the same direction is sometimes more important than in PS where it's about individual squad's moving on their own. This is partly why I call HLL being like a movie saving private ryan, etc. You have clear advancing lines, combined with HLL having much better ragdoll physics and gore, it 'feels' more real when playing. Examples of what I've seen in both games. In HLL, I could be walking through the woods with my squad. To my left and right are 2 to 4 more squads of players moving along together as well. Behind us are MG players or tanks laying down suppressive MG fire, just constant stream of bullets. Then commander calls in an artillery strike on the enemy's line ahead of us and just decimates the area, body parts flying, explosions, MG fire, just chaos. I didn't really get that kind of experience in Post Scriptum. In PS you get more pockets of action on a smaller scale. I felt PS had more squad vs squad combat instead of multiple squad vs multiple squad combat...hope that made sense. As always, both games have high importance on flanking, I just felt it was both way more fun and way more effective to flank in HLL than in PS.
In this game even a veteran has horrible matches. Its a game where patience and teamwork prevail. Focus on positioning as quick sniping is only a small factor to this game. Sometime being cannon fodder is a tactical decision to distract the enemy so die with honor.
IF you really don't care for keyboard (I don't) then you can run a crazy hybrid set up. I use a multi button mouse for aiming of course buuuut I use a PS Nav Controller for movement and misc functions. You'll need to buy a program called reWASD to program the Nav Controller buttons but it's cheap/easy to use and you get the best of both worlds!

What are the AntiAliasing settings? Are they fixed with INI file tweaks? Such a good looking AA here.
U know you can throw yourself over a nade now and only you will die, teammates survives . Cool feature!
If hell let loose and squad get destructible environments then they might get game of the year and definitely be worth the title. They already are amazing
I hope they add mouselook. It might not seem like a big thing for most but I just can't get into a tactical fps without the ability to look around my surroundings without shoving my gun in everyone's face.
That guy you shelled in the open was basically the founder of the american soace program
I really like this game, although I feel it is missing the team play that post scriptum has? Maybe i am missing something? What server is this the team play is really good. I’d like to jump back in.
dixx server or australian servers (high ping though). Just ones that are clearly community based

This looks exactly like the kind of WWII tactical shooter that I would enjoy playing. Going to wishlist it on Steam.

I keep saying to myself...I will not play today...I will get bored...and then remind myself this is a WORK IN PROGRESS game...like wtf!!....Awesome...cant wait for the finished product...and you know when you have played too much when the game over songs get burnt into your eardrum. ...Great video.
the thing this game does better then post is that theres a rank up system customisation, and actually gives you many things to play for in post i play a game where our team tries so hard to defend we win but what do we get out of that hour of gameplay? nothing just people scremaing at the end XD
That opening looked a lot like band of brothers
The tank driver was playing with a 999 ping :)
