BIG mistake about ToadSoul: Complete lack of mention of GEYSER. You set it up with Dubcrack 2 or CannonBall by breaking enemys middle panel. Then you charge Geyser's up for 400 damage. And if you throw a V-Doll beforehand, easy 800 dmg. As for KnightSoul, you don't need AREA grabs, just two panelgrabs from the middle does the job. Then you move into THEIR middle panel, maybe throw a Timpani in their backrow and just keep charging your buster for royal wrecking ball. Also, you can combo Drillarm1-2-3 with Lance * (which you will get from Undernet 4 liberation mission bonus panels the earliest). DrillArm has a mechanic where if you use it on an enemy directly infront of you, it pushes the enemy back from base of the drill to the tip of the drill, doing an extra hit on top of the usual 3. So the combo is AreaGrab > DrillArm > Lance > DrillArm>Lance. Once they have 2 rows remaining, they'll get hit 4 times with drillarm, pushed back into Lance range, Lance will push them back infront of you, which you DrillArm again, Lance Again etc. Big combo. NumberSoul has a weird but sort of useless combo: ColorPoint * > Vulcan3 L > Attack 10 * twice, then GrabBanish L. Vulcan 3 hits 7 times, ColorPoint adds 30, Attack 10 and NumberSoul passive +10 together does 420 dmg. You do this simple combo twice so 840 damage, then you grabbanish for 20x6 = 120 unavoidable damage. adding up to 960. You can do this up to 4 times. If you're feeling REAL spicy, switch up L code with N code for GrabRevenge instead, then you can add Metagel N for even MORE damage, also add Numberman SP to the mix. Can even add ParaBomb N for extra degeneracy... One thing about Tomahawk Soul people often overlook: Cactball series are MULTIHITTING CHIPS. If you have exactly 2 panels between you and the target, they do 4 or so hits. So load up your attack plus & point chips, and unleash a double damage multi-hit combo. Even without Tomahawk Soul, try it on MagnetMan SP fight right at the start if you score a counter hit, easy sub-10 S rank. Don't have much to say about Shadow & Colonel souls. They are weird.
I think people underestimate the change arm gimmick, because you know what chip is also avaible for it? THE CURSESHIELD! The 130/160/190 bitting shield chip! Imagine being able to pull up a shield that deals this much damage like a beefed up reflect that doesn't need panels and hits almost instantly (before BN6 buffed reflect to do that xD) Plus they also drop with Star codes as well.
This is the main reason I love these games. SO many little realizations to overlook across so many playstyles/builds. I wanna see more devs come up with tactical combat formulas like this! The way it all plays out on a small grid is just amazing too, it makes it feel even greater than pixel-perfect. Love fully 3D action games that are more ambiguous when it comes to hitboxes etc., but it's so nice to have games this clean. (The way panels light up when an atk is active on them helps too)
@ProtoDemnGamer colonel soul is very handy against viruses that summon things To me though team colonel double souls feel a lot more balanced than team protoman. While team protoman feels clunky. When u can't use their special moves But that's my opinion
Very well put together again! Ironically Tomahawk Soul can be seen a better fire damage dealer than Napalm depending on how you look at it. I also wanted to like Colonel Soul as a kid but... lolno.
Great job with this video, ProtoDemm! I have to say that Shadow Soul is my favorite in this version. Colonel Soul’s Arm Change sounds cool on paper but Skully is really the only notable chip for it and I don’t use that many obstacle chips. Ask for Toad Soul, I overall think that it’s more casual friendly in the the story play through than Meddy Soul.
Great breakdown and analysis ^^ How about a small "bonus" talking about the two Bass and Django/Boktai souls in Double Team DS? I abused the hell outta the Boktai soul and still have fond memories of it xD
I've used KnightSoul a lot in Megaman Battle Network 5 Team Colonel, and the charge shot hits twice all enemies that appear on the one panel directly left of him.
At least ColonelSoul's charge shot is really good. Basically a normal charge shot that does more damage and has a little bit more warm-up delay. As someone who typically maxes out his attack and charge stats, this is a perfect upside
From my pov(low execution speed kill set ups) most BN5 souls are definitely much weaker than 4(albeit theyre jank). Guts and Metal were super goofy with Junk and Search being involved with a funny set up. Wood Soul also have a ridiculous set up that sadly requires quite a grind That said the bn5 power navis hit the park for me. Napalm is cool af and Tomahawk is neat. I havent quite figured a set up using them sadly. I think Proto have better overall double soul entirely because of Gyro while Colonel have some neat Chaos Unison Protoman chips are superior though. Sorry team colonel your fighting against NS Tackle, Protoman, Gyroman, and Meddy. Even Napalm and Search is pretty based
@@meowbahhyt yeah the Chaos in Colo is pretty sick. But for speedkill only Tomahawk Chaos comes up(besides Chaos Number obvs) for exactly Cloudman. Protos Navi chip were just too attractive. Protoman obviously. Magnetman and Gyroman are both one shot class chip in power level(only need 50-60 extra to one shot Omega class enemies which is bonkers). Meddy just do 400. Even Napalm in theory can be BN6 Blastman at home. Proto somehow gets Gyrosoul for Supervulcan/Tornado shenanigans and its arguably not their strongest stuff its crazy
Sorry for constantly posting Hey um try to get some Navis for the waiting room in red sun and blue moon. Specifically the Navis form the opposite game. So u can go through their scenarios in both games, get their navi chips and get their secret chips from higsby shop tournaments Not many know about these features for red sun and blue moon
If I had to put which Navis I prefer: For the 1st soul it's kind of hard to decide on one hand Knight man is kind of bad to use in battle yet his ability during the strategy part makes it so he instantly defends a character he's near by though during shade man stage he still got stun when shademan hit him defending though Magnet man has probably better fighting style, it does cost you a point to use a shield. so I say knight man is the win for me For the second one I say shadow man, I just prefer using the ninja over the transformer For the 3rd one I say it's a tie I like them both For the fourth one, Search man I feel it's still weird that Higbsy joins and is doing an escort mission in his story, when it makes more sense for Search man For the 5th one I say Toad man, even if their battle is bad I prefer toad soul For the final soul it's hard but I have to say proto soul
I think that arc in Red Sun with the native american guy being portrayed as a drunk is biggest source of the warning, but I can admit that Tomahawk Man being weak to Napalm Man is a war crime in itself. EDIT: And that hilarious rap scene in 2 which... yeaaaah.
Unfortunately I won't be making videos about the BN6 crosses, but those have already been done by other youtubers! I put links to their videos in this video's description, make sure to check them out!
Ironic you like toad soul the objectively worse Double Soul in the battle network games to the point the concept of good has a restraining order agent toad soul that states it has to stay at minimum 300 miles away from it or face 6 years of jail time yet you say you hate Meddy Soul, the only good Double soul in team Protoman. (Yes, Proto Soul is garbage and nothing anyone says will prove otherwise.)
Toad soul has the tracking charge. Can hide in sea panels and got a 300 dark charge. Meddy has a 3 panel forward charge and is rng reliant with the capsules.

Geyser was really good with AquaSoul in BN4 as well. Also ElemIce + Blizzard.
@@TheAzulmagia Don't elemice + blizzard me. That only works properly with Anubis/PoisonPharaoh.

I actually like using Arm Change for Colonel Soul a lot. It’s fun just to swap charged shots like that.
This vid reminds me of old style vids, great stuff.
Also I'd recommend doing blue moon simply because that's the more unpopular version.
Charged dark shadow soul is basicly a win button. You become dark megaman with no reprocusions.
