I am trying to remember, but can Junk Soul's Poltergeist grab Junkman's debris he hurls at you during the fight and throw it back at him? I remember his fight being a pain and tough bc of the debris he keeps sending at you. I remember getting is SP Chip was a pain for me way back then

There is something so uniquely trippy about 3D N64 games with graphics and environments along the lines of this game and Super Mario 64, especially on a CRT. Some of the things look pretty abstract, I find as a kid I sorta just accepted it in a sense, and now I look back wondering what went into the design. Same thing with a lot of Pokemon designs, sometimes there is a pretty clear inspiration, but as a kid who wasn't aware of it (Like Lombre being a kapa) I didn't really question it. Then there's Pokemon where I'm still not sure how they arrived at the design. Some things can just be monsters made of cool shapes and colors, but it gets oddly specific

Tornado can consume ice, magnet and lava panels too. Though GBA BN5 have no * code for Lava seed so its not really ideal to use lava while magnet panels is magnetman only. I usually used L codes because tornado comes in code with area grab. So if I had to use search soul, i go for chips like life sync and copy damage just to thin the folder. Maybe it will be a good idea to decode folders that can act as crowd control too.

I love that the tornado can absorb certain panels, one of my favorite tropes for elemental systems. It doesn't take on that dmg type though, right? Would be super cool if they leaned into it like that if they were to ever bring back BN or something like it/Star Force.

Usually I put folders together based on how I like the way it all functions together, perhaps centered around something I just wanna give a try, but going for a theme is so fun. One of my fondest memories is deciding as a kid playing BN1 I wanted to focus on swords, invis and area/panel grabs. Both functionally and thematically it's hardly breaking new ground (no geddon though... alright I'll finish my comment), but it was the coolest thing to me.

My 1st playthrough of 2 I sorta just accidentally stumbled into Gater spam cause I wanted to give G code a go... Could hardly believe the power, ease and consistency. Rn I'm nearing the end of my 1st legacy collection playthrough and I got a lucky early Prism * from trader, on top of the prism deck I was already building. Also very busted, but I like that you often gotta think about where to throw the prism and when, and adapt a bit to the other chips you're given. With the more RNG movement enemies or ones you're not as familiar with, it can really punish you, and you end up learning more. Love how many prism combos there are! Front row prism/airman/+dmg is crazy.

Bn2 pvp was a nightmare to play with turn 1 gator appear out of nowhere and there was no tfc

Also the Gater PA can be used with ANY GateMan chip, not just v3, plus you can buy wind and fan chips in star code fairly early on, just make sure to leave 1 or 2 copies in the shop for the gospel dupe exploit

This is what we call a glitch that will never be fixed

"You may be able to see the issue before I explain it" I saw it the first time it happened. He's coded to drop the invuln at the end of the Top Stomp, but you interrupted it with your Break fist so he didn't properly end the attack.

Not sure if it's the same glitch, but the darkchip that's got a picture of the evil bamboo shoot spears also can procure that damage invulnerability. (I used a DarkSoul-based folder the first time I played. I regretted it at Duo but DarkSoul saved me on the fight against Protoman and I caught a bad habit of relying on it to finish my boss fights with me just adding well-timed chips while Dark Megaman went all over the field.) The timing is the same as with Metalsoul's punch, but with the extra condition that Topman needs to be in the back row to hit him. When you're in Dark Soul Unison and you (or the Dark Megaman AI) uses the spear chip at exactly the wrong time (IE you don't procure a counter-hit stun) it's pretty much fatal because your Dark Soul time runs out before Topman finishes a second top mode attack to be made vulnerable again and you're stuck at 1 HP.

I encountered the opposite of this bug when fighting Bass in 5. I hit a couple DarkCircs in ChaosSearch, then mistimed one, spawning Dark Mega. Then I entered the custom menu and entered SearchSoul. When I started the next turn, Dark Mega was gone and Bass' health dropped rapidly to 0 as if he were hit by several Anubis at once.

I thought I wouldn't be able to tell what would be wrong since it's not like I have played these games in a while, but yeah, that was messed up and shocking.

One important thing to know about chip shuffle in bn6 Is that with the legacy collection you can use the Search man patch card to gain access to chip shuffle for only 37MB making it far more compatible with the custom 1 and 2 NCPs, with it being a patch card you don't have to deal with the NCP versions weird shape and size in order to combo them together. In 6 I had a 3 patch card combo of needler search man and charge man In order to balance each other out as to not be stuck with the circle gun charge shot that is also attached to the search man patch card.

I feel like another thing that causes him to carry that shield invulnerability through his normal form was he got knocked in top form while within the players area.

That is just simply WILD. I encountered this when I was younger (still won though cuz GunSol is fair and balenced) but then chalked it up to a glitch in the long run.

Interesting to note, since search soul returns in legend of network as search arm, obviously chip shuffle returns. However, it is even further nerfed. Instead of 1 shuffle per turn, you get 3 shuffles PERIOD. Even if you use armb+ parts to get 4 or 5 turns of search arm, you can only use chip shuffle 3 times total. Since LoN came out after 6, it seems capcom felt the need to even further nerf it

Searchsoul is a godsend in BN4 RS if the game is being stingy with giving you the Watergod scenario for Full Cust *
