How the hell did someone who said some of the most detest things worm his way back into the media? It really is who you know, the spotlight shouldn't be on players, rather those in the media.
I mean, he said it in a private whatsapp group. If we saw all of the messages and emails that you have sent to friends privately, you're saying we wouldn't find even one thing that might be distasteful or off colour? Come on, don't be a hypocrite
I’m proud that Darcy Moore and the other Collingwood players helped out. Very mature response and very mindful of Petracca’s wellbeing. I’m definitely biased as a Pies fan, but still proud nonetheless. I’m sympathetic to Petracca trying to be selfless and try to play through the pain for his club, but he put himself at serious risk by going out. It’s great that he was brought out to the hospital by the Ambo’s but it should’ve been much sooner. I think it’s fair to say most of the comp loves Petracca, imo he’s the heart and soul of the Melbourne Football Club. I’m hoping he goes okay with his recovery! Hopefully this is a wake up call for the whole competition, player safety must come first. We must learn from this. I’m certainly no medical expert, but I think the proposal for some kind of MRI or any medical equipment that can be used to detect injuries is going to be expensive but it’s the right idea in my opinion. You shouldn’t put a price on health and well-being.
Caro always talks to alot of people BUT no one wants to put their name to it. Put up or shut up. Nothing to see here. I hope comes back just as strong.
That's because when you are a Journalist you are not allowed by law to reveal your sources to the public unless those sources give you permission to do so which they either almost never do and if they it a very long time because of the legal implications involved. Its actually a pretty difficult, highly stressful job especially these days with the record amount of defamation lawsuits that have issued in recent years in this country.
The club should be sanctioned for the way they handled this situation. No player should be able to give the all clear on their own medical capabilities over the club doctors, ruptured spleen and punctured lung isn't something to ignore.
Easy symptoms that overlap with other more common medical issues. Trac knows his body better than the medicos, a little bit of personal responsibility goes a long way. It's only a game, don't be a hero...
What was that Caroline, you've spoken to a lot of people. Yeah, but you haven't spoken to Christian nor his family so instead like the creep Tom Morris you make up a dramatic story. Maybe you guys should do the scripting for MAFS or something!
The moment he put his hand to his side in that area should have rang alarm bells, any doctor should know that. It is not about being as hard as nails, a ruptured spleen is a very serious medical condition. Further impact could have been life threatening. To “OK it” by the AFL smacks of cover up. 🇦🇺👍🍺
Addendum, clearly Darcy Moore knew something was up. What a rockshow, rules and medical assessment guidelines that change weekly. Should call the St Johns Amubulance kids down, they’d know better.
It's a real shame it happened, an unlucky relatively rare potentially critical incident in an AFL match. Let's hope the Dees Doc is ok, and gets some training to upskill, and the AFL take some accountability to improve their processes. Sports Physicians (Club Docs) as much as you'd hope they'll recognize potential sentinel events and get assistance from the on Duty Emergency Doctor, are generally not dealing with genuine life and death Emergency medical scenarios daily as Emergency Docs are. The real issue is that the Emergency Doc wasn't given oversight to the incident until it was nearly too late. How and why that occurred is the major issue that the Dees as a Club and the AFL with oversight have to rectify for the broader competition. So AFL, ticking this off is questionable. Supporters and parents of AFL players would hope that you are doing something to rectify this if possible.. Just a very unfortunate incident and hope the young player in Petracca makes a full recovery.
Petraccas injury is not part of the game otherwise it would be happening regularly all over the country at every level, there had to have been a level of real intent to do damage that isn't even there in amateur football for that injury to happen
A player jumping into a pack situation with their knee raised is absolutely part of the game and happens regularly and at every level of the game. Lefau from Richmond did exactly this in consecutive weeks which resulted in kneeing two blokes directly in the back of the head. One of the blokes was his own teammate Bolton which resulted in a concussion that saw him miss a game. The injury that Petracca has suffered is not a regular occurrence but the action that created it certainly is.
I think it’s clear that Petracxa is moving to bulldogs at end of the year in trade for Bailey smith and Sam Darcy from what I’ve heard. They didn’t want him to play at club after how he treat Oliver. I think it’s time for gawn to resign worst captain of club cause he has no control of team ???
A 28 yo living with his partner and his mum and dad are getting involved. How embarrassing, is he a man or still going through his adolescence? Maybe he'll be a grown man by the time he's 35.
Well that’s 6 minutes I’ll never get back
Why talk to his parents if that's not what he wants? He's not a child, he's 28 years old. How infantising.
I tune out when i hear the words "Tom Morris".
Every time..
Agree
I don’t know why we watch this BS. Petracca is a proper hard as nails player and it’s a shame he’s out, send your prayers and move on
🥯
Absolutely agree with this, however, the club doctors are there to save him from himself.
Tom Morris. A complete flog. Always trying to create a story
Great to see the former Chief Executive Virtue Signaller for the AFL now the boss of Tabcorp. That speaks volumes about his character.

"I spoke to a lot of people today and no one wants to go on record". Weird way to say no one takes your calls anymore Caro.
Caro always talks to alot of people BUT no one wants to put their name to it. Put up or shut up. Nothing to see here. I hope comes back just as strong.
She has numerous sources, Caro's track record over 30+ years of journalism is very strong, like her or not
@@eponymous7910 Caros " I cant reveal my sources " & " Don't shoot the messenger " are just disclaimers for " Im making this S up "

Its over for Melbourne they are coming down the other side of the mountain now time to get rid of the driftwood, Oliver, Gawn, Trac, May, Viney.

You know nothing. 😂 the only person close to being traded that’s of any relevance is Clayton Oliver due to form.
As if dogs would trade a father son gun in Sam Darcy. Delusional.
