再び日本に帰ってきたメタルスラッグ。プレイモアが許諾、サンアミューズメントが開発･販売予定だったが「SNK VS. CAPCOM」同様、開発途中でプレイモアがSNKプレイモアに、サンアミューズメントがSNKネオジオと改名している。旧SNK時代の１～３までと比べると感触としてまだ大味な感じで、使用キャラがマルコ、ターマ、エリ、フィオに戻り、前作で登場した「メタリッシュシステム」がなくなるなどの変化はあるが、新アクション「スライディング」と最新の戦車「スラグガンナー」の投入などの新要素を加えたことで、心機一転が図られている。
ストーリー:
次世代メタルスラッグ開発中の研究所が何者かの襲撃を受け、メタルスラッグの機密を記したディスクが強奪された。マルコとターマはディスクの奪還指令を受け、その行方を追った。一方、遺跡盗掘を行う武装組織プトレマイック・アーミーを調査していたエリとフィオは、古代遺跡「火の回廊」まで追跡に成功。遺跡に突入して制圧を試みるが、原住民と巨大なメタルスラッグによって行く手を阻まれてしまった。この事件により、メタルスラッグの機密を奪った敵はプトレマイック・アーミーと判明。正規軍は、機密奪還と組織壊滅のため、PF隊とスパローズの少数精鋭による 「火の回廊」への再突入作戦を決行した！！

A research installation developing the next-generation of Metal Slugs is attacked by unknown forces and a disk containing Metal Slug secrets is stolen. Ordered to recover the disk, Marco and Tarma follow in hot pursuit. Meanwhile, Eri and Fio, investigating the Ptolemaic Army, a paramilitary syndicate active in archeological excavation, catch up with them at an ancient ruin, 'The Corridor of Fire'. The two try to storm and seize the site but are repulsed by the natives and giant Metal Slugs. This incident proves it was the Ptolemaic Army that stole the Metal Slug secrets. The military subsequently launches a second raid by the elite PF squad and Sparrows on the 'The Corridor of Fire' to recover the secrets and destroy the syndicate!!!

Finally someone plays the Euro version of the arcades.
Those were always harder than the Asian one, for some reasons.

@@WexMajor82 The only differences of Euro, USA, and Japan is the EU/US enforces blood mode off and Japan always on by default. USA version also have additional parental advisory message on each attract mode. Gameplay always the same.

very good player bro, you did very well with the final boss, even at level 4 it can be complicated to handle, I really don't know what would cross some people's minds when they say that you are a bad player for not passing the I play at level 8 XD they are stupid, you are still a good player
