every once in a while i come back here, back when i was a kid i would play a lot of metal slug on the ps2 with my dad specially this one. it was one of the only games my dad enjoyed playing with me we always got really hype when the avatar of evil appeared in the final mission, id give anything to go back to those days again.
Metal Slug 2 is probably the only one I can play without dying until Mission 3. I spent so much time on that game at the Laundromat that it’s pretty much muscle memory at this point. Just got a PS2 and I got MS Anthology.

That final boss was fucking rad, but damn is that it? usually MS final bosses have like 5 different forms that you fight in increasingly more insane stages, this seemed so straighforward
Bankruptcy really fucked this game over. The level design was supposed to be completely different. The basic story was that Ptolemaic Army go to war with PF Army. Normal stuff. Eventually, they start copying Morden's Army's technology (Girida-0, Di-Cokka, NOP-Sarubia, etc.) Eventually, they start copying PF Army tech, which was supposed to be revealed by the single copied metal slug in the ocean level. Later, it's revealed that the Ptolemaic Army is also a cult and that's where level 1 comes in. It was supposed to be the second to last level, but bankruptcy. There was supposed to be a completely different final boss that was riding on top of a giant mech called Stone Turtle. His name is Ptolemaios, and he's the guy that got struck by lightning in the cutscene of the "first" level. If SNK didn't go bankrupt we would've had probably the best boss fight in the series
SNK's back now, and they want to go come back to Metal Slug and other projects. We're already getting new character sprites in their Mobile MS game too, and they're actually GOOD!

Nowhere else will you find tanks that turn into mechs and pop wheelies and use them to fight aliens, Nazis and astral demons. T'is truly a magical game.

But lately I have used a KEMPSTON 4 BUTTON USB JOYSTICK and His younger brother(my youngest son) HAS USED A XBOX ONE S OR something but I am still the KING lol Just to make you smile he has come to challenge me this week ( with his XBOX S gamepad VS my STEAM PAD running on a PC build of legendary hardware) ASUS PRIME 370 A PRIME I7 8700 5GHZ DELIDDED GALLIUM TIM STABLE PERIOD. 240MM LIQUID COOLED AS YOU CAN GUESS 83 degrees peaks and OW mama at times:) 32GB PLATINUM DOMINATOR RAM RUNNING AT 3200MHZ. NVIDIA GTX 1080TI OC TO 5057MEM AND 2025 CORE STABLE running at 4k 60FPS no problem. Long live competitive play and thank you for your video the conflict continues with his younger brother I may add and his intuitive play and fast as hell reflexes, my son I feel will be victorious but he will have to play his ass off to beat me. I loved the video:)

I never noticed this before.... when you're going down the elevator and those beetles attack, I think it's a sly reference to Mega-Turrican (where there's a similar elevator with beetle-like enemies scaling in to attack you). It may be a coincidence, but it's an awesome parallel nonetheless.
Not much of a code, but rather a dipswitch in service mode. You can enter the game's service mode to turn on the blood, alter continues, life amounts and such with it. typically in emulators, you can set the toggle to F1 and hold it until the menu comes up, and dig around. it should be easy to find.
