This guy, man, this fricking guy was part of what made the Sierra Madre *so* tense for me. Just an absolutely stunning villain the way in the way that he masterminded the whole thing with inhumane methods only to possibly be locked in his own vault. Just poetic tbh Bro, love your vids. I always watch them during them a workout and it makes time fly Haha 🔥
Butthole barely masterminded crap, he set up traps and had to wait for people to do his work... that like having a plan incase you fail... which is a sign of failure.
Excellent video as always. Dead Money was always my favorite DLC. It’s almost a completely separate game with how they set it up. I do wish there was more dialogue about the DLC’s in the base game.
Always kinda pissed me off that this is the one dlc you can’t return to after finishing the first time. We just have to accept the canonical fact that the Courier is like “Fuck this place, never coming back!”🖕
I found that mod that let me side with Elijah at the end of Dead Money thereby killing Dog, Dean, and Christine but you got a hologram beacon throwable and Red Cloud missiles, given missions to bomb Hoover Dam with a rocket filled with the cloud, the best mod I've seen tbh
I really feel bad for Father Elijah, he just lost his senses because he couldn't make the Brotherhood of steel as great as what Maxson did in Fallout 4, if Elijah was alive and seeing what Maxson achieved he would die because of sheer happiness that his dear faction achieved the greatness once he dreamed of, i can see Elijah teaching Maxson how to be a great leader like the story with King Arthur and Merlin were with each other, of course it will remain as an idea though sadly, if that happened though they would be the strongest faction in the whole world actually but of course the way how the Brotherhood operates i wouldn't call it a good ending for humanity and the world in general, it would be something like out of Warhammer.
All interesting points, though I think it was more bethesda wanting to make them grand in fallout 4 than any type of in world, in lore, explanation. Elijah wanted to wipe the slate clean. No previous iterations on the Mojave, period. No NCR, no legion, no Khans, no Brotherhood, and no Axioms. He wanted to reshape the world, reshape it in a way where it was nothing like what happened at Helios one; begin again and let go of the wasteland as it is so the future may embrace a better world with rules and axioms set down by Elijah, to fufill his prime directive; start a new chapter of the brotherhood, again, and to reshape the wasteland into a "better" place, but only for his own.
There's no greater feeling then taking EVERYTHING from the vault and sneaking past Elijah and locking him in. Hearing him lose his mind in the vault is the best!
And then says "n-no no I still have pip boy light doesn't work!" Even though he insults us for having one I never got the ending of him locked in begging to be let out despite doing everything to get it 😂
Never got to play the DLCS back in the day but I've been going through them on a modded new Vegas run and oh boy they're amazing, literally turns the game into a survival horror, loved god/dogs story so much but I've always loved none Bethesda mutans
he began with a zealous BoS Mojave chapter elader, doing everything 'For the Brotherhood', so obsessive in fighting NCR. anything that can be used against the Republic is always approprate to him (even recruiting Enclave goons, or if FEV samples is somewhere in the Mojave he wouldn't hesitate to use against NCR, too bad there isn't). he did learn that Helios One solar powerplant is weaponized. (Courier can even learn of this later, and can even exploit it to his / her own uses). too bad he didn't notice the original purpose of Helios One is to be power plant and not fortified military compound. and thus the site is placed wide open, not defensible. It is what NCR called Operation Sunburn that ended his career as Brotherhood Elder of Mojave Chapter. Allevone did write his endings as doomed in the end. (in all 'game continue' Dead Money endings, 'Elijah must die', either way (slain in a duel with player, or tricked into treasure vault).
Awesome video man. The first time I played this DLC I had no idea what I was doing, being ages ago, and everytime after that it glitches to no end so I never played it. But since I got a new PC I'm inspired to try it out . Thanks
I regret that I didn't fully appreciate Dead Money on my first play of it. However, playing it again I loved it, the atmosphere, having to manage your resources much more carefully and the overall message of letting go of your desires for the better, a true work of art. As much as I liked the message, you can sure as shit bet I used the hack and took every last gold bar with me. And of course another fantastic video, please keep them coming, they're always a pleasure to listen to.
Letting go? The courier is forced to do Elijahs bidding up until the final act! I’ll be damned if some maniacal techie is gonna push a message on ME after being his slave!
no need to hack dude. dismember someone , carry a body part there with click drag , load gold bars into corpse inventory then click drag body part back to sell ze gold.
He’s in Puesta Del Sol north. If you stand on a certain rooftop you can receive a new radio signal, and listening to it, you hear him talking to himself. So it’s safe to say he’s there for the most part until you activate the gala event, then books it to the casino first before the four of us.
I hate the fact that he still thinks he’s not a traitor to the brotherhood, like the guy left them when they lost Helios one and majority of their forces. I’m pretty sure they have every right to call him a traitor.🐱
There is no possible fate that could befall Father Elijah which isn’t still too good for him. …I settled for stealing literally every single thing which wasn’t bolted to the walls, sneaking past him + his barrier, and blowing him up with 5 bottle cap mines right underneath his dumb, obnoxious, traitorous, schizophrenic feet. But he still somehow deserves much much much much worse
@@Antibong Well Dead Money in general is the most pretentious DLC ever made. But yes, Father Elijah is the culmination of every single ounce of that pretentiousness in a single character. …Did you not play the game? Dude lies and tricks you, gasses and kidnaps you, strips you of all possessions, puts a bomb collar on you, threatens to kill you if you don’t cooperate, tells you and forces you to go on an easter egg hunt across an abandoned village littered with nigh immortal and insane zombie-ghost people and boobytraps along with an invincible hologram death security system…all the while needing to cooperate with a bunch of other colorful cast that he did the exact same thing to. And if that isn’t bad enough…he tries to kill you anyways when you succeed? I don’t care what he believes in…That deserves a fatman to the face. It’s only a bonus to how loathable he is when he turns out to be an idealistic and arrogant prick on top of the other stuff. There is literally no New Vegas character worse than Father Elijah. My favorite part is Father Elijah is played by character actor Richard Herd, George’s boss from Seinfeld. Elijah has to be the best performance of his career.
I find people with higher intelligence level actually do lack basic social skill, and have a higher precieved notion of, they need to survive more than any other person, and those with more common sense and average iq are more willing to fight for those beside them and sacrifice for the greater good of those around them. Man I love these deep dives into character mindset and and such! Keep up the great work!!!😁
Highly recommend the DUST mod to anyone who hasnt heard of it before. The basic premise is that everything in the base game went to shit and elijah won by sending Legion Remnants to start sabotaging the NCR scientists in Vegas with the Cloud after he escapes the vault in Dead Money. Then the tunnelers and dust storms from Lonesome Road creep into the Mojave and turn the whole map into a hellhole full of cannibals and death.
@@istvanbrooks5319yeah , have to agree. Turns Zion into same hell hole with clouds and Joshua into a wendigo.. Joshua would be the last guy to cannibalise anyone I think. Especially not his precious tribals or Daniel etc Looks like an ok survival game like Frost. But never played, and just glad that is not canon lore for Joshua. An avenging angel, a redeemed holy man ,born out of fire and sheer will, strength and determination to become victim to some lowly toxic clouds and spores... I don't think so. Guy was too smart and too quick and strong to not see something like that coming at Zion a mile off. He's a legend of Fallout, a beloved legendary survivor. Much like Randall Clark. But Joshua needs to survive. He's a beacon of hope , not just for his Mormon - New Canaanites, and tribals. But for anyone that looks up to him and relates on any level. He's a living Fallout legend, and should always remain so.
Aw hell naw peepaw learned how to use the IPad Jokes aside, love the video! Elijah is one of my favorite New Vegas characters so this is a lovely video to see.
Father Elijah is one of the few characters in NV who seems to be entirely evil. He doesn’t seem to particularly care about the Brotherhood, but rather wants revenge on the NCR for “robbing him” of his precious Helios One. He harms Veronica and Christine, abandons his chapter, uses the people of Little Yangtze as test subjects, kidnaps random wastelanders for his “heist”, etc, unlike even Caesar, Vulpes, House, etc, Elijah seems to only serve himself and satisfying his ego and desire for revenge.
Based on some of his dialouge at the fountain, I think that canonically he is supposed to use an upgraded Holorifle. But I think the developers just gave him a gauss rifle. Prehaps due to issues with giving an NPC a new weapon
It bothered me that the casino won't take your equipment because it's contaminated but the Pip boy is fine. Maybe there's an explanation I don't remember. Anyways, great video as always.
I used to play music from my flash drive back on the 360 I had some songs from Resident Evil outbreak needless to say I made this dlc more intense/scary for myself I remember it like yesterday this was My junior year stayed up trying to finish it so I wouldn’t have to come back to ghost people The architecture of the Sierra Madre was also more narrow and claustrophobic than the base game or other dlcs

Basically Elijah was the wastelands most dangerous autsit. Amazing.
Don't worry, Elijah is still out there, making Little Dark Age Fallout edits.
so smart but is tricked by a guy with a stealth boy and pockets full of good bars
I left him a few bottles of water and a few snacks for him. Then I locked the vault.
I left him a gun and 1 gold bar as a sick joke of eat gold 😂
