- It's time for the penultimate entry in my New Vegas Iceberg. Welcome to The Unhinged Tier. While past tiers covered some well-known and believable New Vegas theories, cut content, and bits of lore, Tier 4 is quite a bit unhinged. Notable entries covered include the role of children in the Legion's Army, why vehicles don't work, and goes over what could be a world-record breaking speedrun. Like past entries, scattered throughout this tier is other lore, cut content, and weird facts. Let's get into it.

He should’ve clarified that in the game- we can’t take it as actual text when it’s only said outside of the games themselves by a creator, even one with bona fide as good as him. Unless there’s an official sequel to the game that answers it, it’ll remain ambiguous as to what yesman really meant. Honestly I think the part was meant to be ambiguous in the first place, and to inspire debate along pro and anti yesman sides and Chris just happens to be on the pro side

You just accidentally brought me closer with my father who died recently. I remembered him watching what I thought was a movie as a kid but I only had glimpses. When you started talking about "The Stand" memories flooded back and I figured I might as well see if that was it. It was. I'll have to go back and actually watch it now because I remember him being a big fan. Thanks, can't imagine this was your intended effect but I appreciate it.
I only wish I had got to do a few playthroughs of new Vegas with him. He would've loved it just as much as I, and many of you probably did.

Horses were in the same engine almost 4 years before.
Fiends experiencing chem-induced psychosis kinda goes out the window when you also have stories like what they did to Vault 3

idk bout the fiend one, despite being absolute stains on the face of the earth, the few fiends you can talk to plus the cut dialogue with the three card bounty fiends just shows they are conscious of what their doing
I always assumed the more lucid ones became leaders while the “foot soldiers” were the ones too hopped up on chems to fully grasp what they’re doing but going through vault 3 again changed my mind.
Im sure there’s plenty actually going through hallucination induced violence but they knew exactly what they were doing when they slaughtered the vault 3 dwellers
If FNV has a remaster with the current engine it would be the greatest game to ever exist
As long as they keep dialogue choices in the style of New Vegas, then sure, but if they go with the fallout 4 dialogue, it'll fail. The dialogue in fallout 4 always comes out differently than you'd think, unless it's an attack dialogue option.

@@repghost9481 if they were to make a remake using an updated fallout system, then the gunplay wouldn't be a concern, it would be better regardless. That's why dialogue is more important.
If the courier could just walk away that would have been brilliant. Do everything but confront Benny then just dip out on the Mohave.
Or better yet, settle down in Goodsprings. Clearly rooting tooting and cowboying around didn't work out for the old Mailman

I think the fiend and mick&ralph theories are kinda silly, The fiends are just coordinated crackheads and chances are mick has the infiltrator rifles is because they look like the kitted out "Special only" guns you would think of when he leads you in and whoever had to design the little armory thought it looked cool
Yeah, silencers and scopes aren't exclusive to a single city, it's probably just a cool gun model they had on hand.

To be fair, the divide really hampered the NCRs ability to have logistical networks, so it could be that when the divide was created, plus the rail lines no longer being viable for transportation of goods, the NCR wouldn’t have enough materials to fix their vehicles, so it might have made more sense to focus on getting supplies for soldiers over resources for armored vehicles and other items needed to transport and maintain vehicles
One Vault did those horrible experiments on kids, the Legion force recruiting children soldiers, and Institute kidnapping any child regardless of age. . .stuff like that makes me think Fallout Earth isn't worth saving.

@27:40 considering there are mods that can make the player character play as a ghoul, with dialogue tweaks to make you feel like you're an actual ghoul, I feel like a ghoul race could have at least been realized in game. Though considering the amount of time they had to work on the game, I don't blame them from scraping the idea entirely.
While some of the theories in these icebergs i may not necessarily agree with, they are cool to think about . Great job!

The post game could've been more, add script to simply remove certain factions depending on the ending, a few
simple side quests and radiant quests for the existing factions that deal with expanding territories, conflicts, etc, especially since the endings all imply the changes to the Mojave won't be immediate but the future of the wasteland has been decided and set in stone. Feel like cutting the post game because "the changes would've been minor" was just an excuse to cut corners on development and cut development time down. It's understandable but in hindsight, there's a lot they could've done that would've been resource efficient as well
I don't believe the fiends do hallucinate because of their dialog when fighting the player.
I feel like fallout not having the ability to be a goul in general let alone a super mutant is kinda weird. Gouls are just people with fucked up skin essentially. The body model wouldn’t affect armor because the npc gouls can have the same armor already. There’s unique armor for super mutants in fallout 4. Especially with where tech is now I don’t think there’s a lotta room to say they can’t make playable races a thing anymore. It’s kinda just because they refuse to change the engine they run their game on that’s been the same one since fucking oblivion. Or maybe it was fallout 3, either way it’s over 14 years old now
Yo also, why not make a top down fallout like the first 2? I can’t see that being considered a huge undertaking for a company like Bethesda when the people who made the first two were a team of a considerably smaller size. Even if it’s just a small side of the company responsible for it, it would at least appeal to another margin of players, as well as the people are just hardcore fallout fans

I’ve always wondered why there are no legion ghouls? Maybe since most are prewar they can see through Caesars propaganda more easily than tribals but you’d think at least some, especially from Arizona, would join out of safety or seeing them as a necessary evil to combat even worse threats (e.g. raider groups like the fiends and vipers)

While its pretty well documented the legion use child soldiers i just want to say the example with children training inside the camp was a pretty bad example of evidence for this. In a wasteland survival setting like Fallout i can guarantee you any faction whether its the bos, NCR, minute men, raiders, gun runners or whatever they would all be teaching any children in their factions how to use weapons and most likely also basic close combat skills. Because that is needed for survival in this world. If you cant fend for yourself then you cant survive. Even in the real world this has been the same for any warrior cultures since ancient times. Even if they did not use child soldiers it was customary to teach your male offspring how to use a weapon and combat skills. Some might ask why anyone would do that but it was necessary if these children was going to become warriors whether it be at age 13, 15, 18 or 21 whatever was considered being an adult for the are and time period you would want your child to not get killed within 20 minutes in a battle so teaching combat skills would increase chance of survival its the same in the Fallout world its all about survival. Now sure the legion use child soldiers. But all factions train their offsprings. Unless they are very self centered maybe a Raider gang would say fend for yourself kid.

Ehhh i still think they coulda added a ghoul character simply because they are still human and wouldnt need much if any changes to the armor and such really its just a normal human who can take more damage and is immune to rads along with being incredibly fugly

I love the whole game of van buren, a true Fallout game which was never made🎉
I just booted up a new fallout 3 game, created my character and left the vault. I walked around the left side of megatons wall and over some rocks on my way to GNR.not even 5 minutes into my playthrough was subsequently attacked by a lone enclave trooper and killed. Totally unprovoked.this is the vanilla game, no mods on xbox one. That's why I love fo3 and fnv, wild unpredictable unforseen things still happen after 15 years
But also implies that innocent civilians are on their kill list and that they are actively deploying kill squads in the wasteland.
Just a fyi there's another that can spawn outside of duvkos place. It's not a conspiracy or anything just a glitch
@@aaronloossonaaronloosjr.8630that's kinda what the many enclave camps are trying to get the player to see. There's one in f3 with like 4 or 5 dead settlers laying in a container and a few trunks filled with loot implying they killed them and took their shit.

Or discriminate against the player because of their race. These storm cloaks are one of the most racist bigoted groups out there. They don't even let Argonians into the city of Windhelm.
