- We've made it. This is the fifth and final tier of N_orte's New Vegas Iceberg, the Ultimate Tier. To close off this 5-week series, we're going to do something a bit different. While this tier of the iceberg will have typical final tier entries, covering some of the darker or more hidden parts of New Vegas, it will also be covering a lot of Fallout New Vegas' unspoken themes, messages, and grander ideas that the game presents. From Greed to the Void Creature Cell, the Ultimate Tier covers a ton of the lesser known aspects of New Vegas. Buckle up, let's ride.

I wonder if the Legion creature was intended to be like a slave who went crazy from abuse and became animalistic. Sort of like the ferals from Mad Max. They’re scrawny, twitchy, erratic and jump at you with claws and teeth. Maybe they couldn’t properly design the withered claw like hands they wanted. Like maybe they bit the flesh off the tips and sharpened the bones for slashing like Ghouls

That's what I was thinking! They tried to stop the barrels with their hands, and they were simultaneously deformed and mutated.
Damn, I knew about In Shining Armor being bugged, I didn't realize that there were so many bugged perks (thanks for preventing me from getting them this playthrough)

Started playing FNV again a few weeks ago after a good while thanks to your series even after 100’s and 100’s of hours over the years I still love playing Fallout not just New Vegas FO3 is where it started for me games wise and it will always hold that special place for me! I love everything Fallout lol thanks for all the Great Lore

I'm currently restructuring my life in a major way, it very much feels like beginning again. New Vegas is one of my favorite games of all time, still I have only played the Honest Hearts DLC so far and only finished the game once, as head of independent New Vegas. It seems I should venture into the Mojave once again, experiencing what I have missed, especially the Dead Money DLC, if it goes so well eith the whole theme of beginning again.
I dont mean to cause any fallout between us... Fallout New Vegas.

dlc's do not read with other dlcs properly, so the cowboy perk does not read the police revolver as a revolver
Old world blues as a theme is incredibly prevalent in fallout 76 which is fun

I looked forward to the future with all 37 gold bars. I laughed that the moral of dead money was to let go. As if a gamer is just going to leave gold bars sitting in a vault and learn a lesson after going through that bomb ticking nightmare . I didn't get my head blown off 100 times trying to find the speaker/radio just to leave 37 gold bars behind

My favorite part about New Vegas is that, even when it was released, it still didn't hold up to games released 6+ years prior.
Uh I mean, using the same exact engine as Fallout 3, and just using Bethesdas permanently stunted engine may do that to you.
I will say though, I do think it holds up (like, graphically and gameplay wise) than some thing likd Half Life 2 (2004) personally. Though I do love that game.

Regarding the perk 'In Shining Armor' I just learned that the 'J Sawyer Ultimate Edition' mod fixed that perk, and it works correctly now.
I think it fixed the other perks, too. Or most of them.
Of course to get them working you need the J Sawyer mod. But it is a fantastic one anyway. So go for it.

I started a new game, was done in Goodsprings, and . . . the game froze.
i think your use of old world blues is a little bit too broad, i think it applies more to people just sitting in old ruined houses wishing they were living before the war and not doing anything to improve their current or future situations, and while others who rebuild still build it in the fashion of something from the old world, thats just more in line with the theme of "war never changes" and we remake the same governments over and over not realizing that we're just making the same mistakes those old governments did and they're just going to lead to the same place that lead to the situation you're in

well, war does change. previously you could see your dead enemies' faces when you shoot or stab them. said faces sometimes could visit you in your nightmares. now you just launch a rocket or a drone and look at "fireworks". nothing personal, just explosives.

I love the queer representation in new Vegas. Most of my couriers are lesbians and the first time I played dead money, it was very satisfying to avenge the love between Christine and Veronica by taking down the man who kept them apart. I wished so badly there was a way to tell Veronica about Christine once you return to the Mojave. Also, I think that Veronica’s quest for a pretty dress is relatable to many trans femme people
