    Zippo I have that exact same lift. It belonged to my farther. He was paralyzed and we used this to get him in and out of this chair. You are right it is one of the greatest tools I have around the place.

    @slowride55 Pretty much yes. The frame of the 3-400 series Allis is different, but the mechanics are pretty much the same.

    @fogt1430 Not hard at all if you've been around small engines for a while. If you're at all unsure about doing it, then try to find someone close to you that can walk you through the process. There ARE a lot of measurements and tolerances to work within, but the actual physical removal is about a 30 minute job once you've done a few.

    Hey Zippo great video as always. I know it's a old video, but I'm hoping you might still see my question. I have a Allis Chalmers b212 with the same engine and set up as the Simplicity you are working on. My question is, I converted to a nova 2 ignition module and had no problems with starting the engine afterwards, the problem was I couldn't shut it off with the key and I had to ground out the sparkplug. I've watched your videos on the nova 2 , but I couldn't exactly see which wire was the shutoff for the ignition. I've looked all over the internet and can't find anything. Any help from you or one of your subscribers would be awesome! Thank you in advance

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There were two wires on the points initially before you changed it over to the Nova II. One coming from the coil going to the points and the other is the short condenser wire. If your wiring setup was original, then the top screw on the points cover would have had a wire connected to a small piece of fiber board. That is your kill wire coming from the key switch. If you connect that wire to the coil wire which is connected to the Nova II now, when you start the engine, it will start normally, then when you turn the key off, it will ground the Nova II and Coil which will shut the engine down. Cheers! Zip~

      Thank you very much. Do you have a detailed video of that part of the wiring by chance?

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@imacgst27 I don't have one specifically about the kill wire from the key, but I do have ignition key videos which show how to test them and find which terminal does what. Just search my channel videos for key switch and a few of them will show up that will help. Zip~

    Can you change magnito without removing engine?

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. If you suspect the coil is bad, get a Nova II Ignition Module for $15, connect it in place of the points and see if you get spark. If not, it's engine out to replace. I have a 15 minute real time video on removing engines from these tractors. It's quick, easy and if you follow the video, you can have your engine out, coil replaced and back in inside an afternoon. How much different is this procedure between this and a 3212H Powerlift?

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Almost no difference at all. There are 3 nuts mounting the hydro lift to the dash tower. Simply loosen them, slide the hydro lift to remove the belt off the pulley and continue on with this video as instruction. Cheers! Zip~

    I had a fiber disc scatter on me this summer. :) sure was loud and dramatic ! little pieces of fiber and washers / bolts flying around under neath . ended up bending the driveshaft but I robbed a machine that just became my parts source and got back to mowing in less than an hour.

    Hi man! can you show how to remove the cover of this engine to replaced the magneto?

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's pretty strait forward. There are a few 7/16" bolts you remove to free the tin, then a couple bolts that hold the booster fan on the crank shaft. Then the blower housing is free to come off. I'll put it on the list of videos to produce. Zip~

      @@ZippoVarga thanks for the reply. I got it off! it was just really rusted and stuck on the shaft. I just order the magneto or coil? I would like to get the one that replaces the points. Is the Simplicity S 3212v 12hp engine on it.

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can install either a stock coil/mag or install a points eliminator. Just search for "Nova II". Very simple to install and I have a video installing one in place of the points. If you go the Magnetron Solid State Ignition direction, you'll need to mount the Magnetron with the "Cylinder Side" Mark to the OUTSIDE. Gap it using a standard business card and you'll be in business. Good Luck! Zip~
