Quick and easy change. Pull the bottom bolt from the PTO plate to drain the oil. Reinstall then pull the top bolt from the PTO plate to fill from. The top bolt is higher then the factory fill hole so if you want to add the extra quart there is no need to pull off the plate or the interior parts.

I always use pennzoil synchromesh in my nv5600 I swapped into my 6.7, and it shifts like butter. I also put in 6.5 quarts versus the 4 it calls for as it’s recommended to keep your 5th and 6th gear happy.

Well I think you missed a step forgot to take out magnet clean it. And check clean out bottom of transmission..

I added cooling fins from geno's. How can you tell if you are full when filling from the shifter?

Dodge sells an additive to add to your fluid that is suppose to help with it meshing

Is grinding normal in these 24valves common? I ask because I have a 99 dodge Ram 3500 Dually and when in mostly 2nd and 5th gear driving not often but randomly It will make a grinding noise while driving. Should I be concerned about that ?

Redline fluid is the best stuff you can put in it! but this stuff works well to. Redline is big expensive. it’s insane, but it really isn’t often that you have to change your manual transmission fluid

I just changed the oil in my nv5600 and put redline mtl that my friend recommended and it does shift a lot smoother 👍🏻

You can just take the center bolt out of the pto cover on both sides and leave the cover next time

Tried this in my 04 3500 seemd good till it got cold
15°f i could not shift into gear

Great video. I just changed my NV4500HD to amzoil. I couldnt put in my 5th quart but now see how you do it in by removing the stick. It shifted a little better but I did have a little sticking but might be because it was cold. I add the 5th bottle and hope I made a good decision with the recommended amzoil manual trans oil.
