    My son is 7, and I'd *never* consider leaving him home alone. Growing up in Arkansas, the Morgan Nick situation ALWAYS comes to mind for me! Morgan was in a public space when she was kidnapped, and the police announced *just this year* they have a suspect, who is already dead. She was taken in 1995! 26 years later, with the kid being around hundreds of people at a baseball game, and we finally have a suspect. What if the *wrong people* crossed her kid's path while she left him alone? What are the chances we'd find out who took him? Who knows what horrible things would've happened to him *because he was left alone?* And this chick wants to taunt the internet over this? Yeah, no wonder the internet is pissed.

      My dad got stopped by the police once, as he was out with me in the mall. I was crying (being like 5 years old, I was just cranky) and they stopped us, because I fit the description of a child that had gone missing a few miles away the same day. My dad's English was terrible, and being scared of those cops, whilst having to deal with a crying small child, didn't help him speak better English, but luckily after a bit of back and forth they figured out I wasn't the missing child and this was my dad. He then always carried our passports with us, just in case it would ever happen again (it thankfully never did).

    Her five year old child was able to open her front door, run into the street in the middle of the night, and was crying for his mother loud enough to alert her neighbors. Even knowing that the cops were looking for her didn't make her hurry home. And she refused to tell them the truth until they implied they'd be investigating her actions. It's a MIRACLE that child wasn't hit by a car that didn't see him in the dark or just flat out kidnapped. This is obviously neglectful behavior and she has turned it into a "joke". The courts at the very least should have insisted that she take parenting classes, but they didn't. Here a fun fact that most people don’t know: just because her charges were dismissed does not mean that she does not have a family court case.
    Criminal charges may not have been worth pursuing but I can almost guarantee that she has a CPS case open and is on a parenting plan that likely included mandated therapy and proving childcare (hence why she mentioned that specifically). She can’t “legally” say what she wants because it can and will be held against her by her caseworker who can and will use any statements to file for an emergency removal of her son.
    Also she probably got into shit for making that Lambo tictok- hence the backpedal

    One of my scariest childhood memories is from when I was about 5 years old and woke up after a nap to an empty house. I remember panicking, running around the house trying to find my parents or my younger sibling and I managed to convince myself that they had abandoned me and would never come back for me. Turned out they were just in the yard doing some yard work, raking leaves and stuff. They had locked the door since they were gonna be in the backyard for a bit and I was either too short or too panicked to look out the windows to see them. I had a lot of issues sleeping as a kid (still do lmao) so my parents didn’t want to wake me up from my nap just to tell me they would be outside for a bit. I don’t think they thought I would wake up anytime soon and that they would be finished before I woke up. By the time they were finished I had been awake for about 5 minutes and they found me in a crying heap on the floor in the hallway between the front entrance door and my room.
    I still remember the whole thing even though it's been 20 years. Can’t even imagine what would have happened if the door hadn't been locked and I run out while they were in the backyard or if my parents would have been outside for much longer. It's absolutely terrifying being left alone at home as a kid.

    I can imagine she's done this to her kid before, this is honestly a needing a nanny situation or even a cps situation. Her child going outside was his cry for help. She'll probably just lock the door now when she leaves him alone. When children speak (this includes nonverbal), we listen.

    • @MissingmyBabbu
      @MissingmyBabbu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd bet that her finally getting a nanny (as well as the therapy) was something required by either the courts or CPS. Honestly, imo Onyx needs therapy too. Not only to deal with what happened, but to see if anything else indicates less than savory behavior from the mother. Also, if I were those neighbors, and I saw her going out without the kid? I'd first ring the house phone to see if an adult answered. If they didn't? Cops. Every time. Because while she can worm her way out of one incident and play it off as 'oh I didn't realize!! so sorry!!', two? Three? Ten? There's no way. If this were a much smaller offense, like her dinging someone's car backing out of her driveway, no one would care. Even if it WAS a habit. But she put her son, a little boy, a child, in serious danger. I shudder at the things that could have happened to him in the time she was gone.

    Most states don’t have written laws, but I know around here it’s common that children under 7 should never be left alone for any amount of time. There are guidelines and nuances after that but seriously…. She wasn’t getting detergent and that this poor boy was terrified, makes my mama heart sad (mama to 3 who also works in a daycare)

    • @MissingmyBabbu
      @MissingmyBabbu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know about actual laws where I am, but here, the age for short alone time for kids (as in, all adults leave) is about 7 too. But for any longer periods, it's 10. And our county specifically wants (though doesn't require, last I checked) kids to complete a short class on safety and stuff when home alone. It's things like, snacks and food you can make yourself without an oven or stove, what to do if someone calls or knocks on the door, what to do in emergencies, etc. It's run by volunteers, and usually a cop comes too to hand out lists with all the local emergency and non emergency numbers, and when to call each. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if more places started requiring kids learn all that before being able to stay alone. I'd make it a special lesson in school, in whatever year was just before the area's agreed upon home alone age. Like what they used to do (and imo, still should) in high school, where one of the core credits was a class on life skills- cooking, sewing, basic maintenance, managing a budget, effective shopping, how credit works, etc.

    Another reason people are demanding answers about what she’s doing with her life is that she’s a SW. they pay her money. They don’t want to support someone financially who is an awful parent. She feels so entitled to their money but forgets that she works for THEM at the end of the day (in a way. They can take their money back and she can’t stop that)

  • @brendaleelydon

    I am often surprised by how many people seem to think it's NBD to leave their kid home alone while they are sleeping. I get nervous grabbing my clothes from the laundry room next door if my kid is asleep & that takes less than 5 minutes & my kid is almost 9. I don't want her to panic if she wakes up & doesn't see me there (& believe me, my kid has started getting upset because I wasn't where she expected, but I was literally behind her while using the bathroom, haha); I can't imagine nonchalantly leaving a young child alone for HOURS. Like, on a selfish superficial level - how can you relax & party or whatever you're doing, knowing your child is home alone and ANYTHING could happen. What if the kid actually stayed asleep, but there was a fire? What if someone broke in thinking no one was home cuz your car wasn't there?
    Having a kid isn't a requirement, there are numerous ways to keep yourself from having a kid if you're not ready for the responsibility & lifestyle change that comes with parenthood.

    I'm raising my three year old niece. She has sensory processing disorder and may be on the autism spectrum, and I wouldn't even leave her alone in the living room for five minutes, ever, even if I'm right in the next room. There's a million ways she could end up hurting herself(jumping and running mostly lol her legs are always moving 😂 I never imagined myself being the type to hover but with her you really have to). When she goes to her room for nap or bed, my eyes are glued to the video monitor until I am positive she is asleep and then I still check it constantly. My understanding is that the reason why she can't speak due to the legality reasons is bc her son is under her mother's care at this time. I'm assuming she has supervised visitation at this point. Giving her mother temp custody would dismiss the case. Its likely she was not found guilty or innocent. Just bc the court case was dropped, doesn't mean they children and youth are finished with their end of it and the case is probably still open. They put a plan in place and she will have to follow it in order to regain custody of her child. The judge along with children and youth can put in the requirements that she is not to speak on Onix or what is currently happening as she is in not his legal guardian right now. There's definitely far more going on behind the scenes than a case just being dismissed. If cys is still conducting their investigation, she could hurt herself more if the story slightly changes. Showing accountability is her trying to show authorities growth and responsibility. Now this is just my speculation on it as unfortunately, I have a family member going thru a similar situation minus the wealth. But guarantee that child is not in her care at this moment.

    Ok, that's neither true nor fair; a few of those boys were much more mature than she is. My daughter also had a friend that had a baby at 15 who was a much better mother than this girl seems to be. Now that I'm giving this situation more thought, I'm starting to wonder if this chick hit her head real hard when she was somewhere between the ages of 13 and 15, and now she's mentally stunted at that age..?🤔 I can't be the only one who looks at- and listens to- her and sees a 14yr old goth boy edgelord...

Never named the father because he was 27 and she didn't want him to go to prison, but he ditched town anyway and she never saw him again.
