I went to Yamaha shop before this video. Hs 7 was in my mind to buy. But the guy told me i can give u chanve to listen both adams and yamaha hs. So, i noticed that yamaha is more colorful sound in all tones but but but it loses sharpness in low end. I listened adams then i realized that it is clearer and linear than hs7. Hs7 failed for me in basses sharpness of sound is lost difficult to understand the guy says what inside the playing sound. Adam was far more natural but something like less bass sound. My choice was adam at the end. I didnt know that it differs so much in sound. Although i set my mind to go and buy hs, i saw by my eyes adam is better than the other one for me.
I have heard the T5V and it had no hiss. It might be a ground loop or something. If you can try the speakers with other source, you might find what makes the problem.
They hiss is because they’re using Class D amp, instead of Class A/B but the hiss shouldn’t be an issue if you keep the speakers a 50cm or more away from your ears, and hiss usually disappears once music starts playing. I think for the price range, its the best Buy, I think next level up is probably 3-way monitors.
Recently purchased two Adam Audio T5Vs and I do hear some noise when they are attached to an powered source whose volume is 0. When the source is powered off, the T5Vs are absolutely silent even though the T5Vs are still powered on and their volume is unchanged. This eliminates RF, the monitor's own amplifier, the cable, and magnetic interference as the source of the noise. I have not yet resolved the issue. I will receive a Schiit Modi 3 DAC in a few days. I'll feed it S/pdif signals and connect the T5Vs via RCA. I'm hoping the Modi 3's low noise levels will help resolve the issue. Nevertheless, I am quite satisfied with the T5Vs. It is a joy to listen to their clear clean sound.
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic Got the Schiit Modi 3 DAC today and hooked it up to the T5Vs. The idle noise almost completely went away. Previously, I could hear the idle noise 5 feet away, now if I put my ear 5 inches away from the woofer I hear slight noise. In my usual listening position, the speakers are silent at idle. The DAC was worth the $100. You may consider it for the hiss you are hearing on the T7Vs. Enjoy.

@@freemindas Thanks for the reply. Actually I do have some panels and some bass traps, plus I will be adding lots of bits and pieces, on and off, over the coming years. Apologies if I was unclear earlier.
Great review, but my concern regarding those excellent monitors is: will the mix be as pleasant in the cheap devices everybody else will use to listen to my songs mixed on the Adam speakers? What is pleasant on them will be pleasant on the lower quality consumer devices?
Well, that's a "problem" you will have with all studio monitors, but usually, if it sounds good on monitors it also should sound okay on cheap devices. You always have to get to know your monitors really well and after you have done a mix, listen to it on as many other devices as possible.

Hey dude, It sounds like you have no idea, there is no way you can tell how these speakers sound if I played the speakers and recorded it. There are so many factors that would disturb and colour the sound. If you want some private lessons to understand you can contact me on collectiveintelligencemusic@gmail.com and I can help get you up to speed.
You reinvented the wheel, everybody know that speakers have to be tested in person but listening few songs could give an idea even on TH-cam and would make your review less boring. Anyway, it's your channel, do what you want...
@@starpaolo it wouldn't give anyone an idea. I would record the sound of the speakers... the first problem is that my microphone would colour the sound with it's character. The second problem is my room acoustics that would colour the sound. The third problem is the TH-cam compression on the audio. The fourth problem is the speakers you use to listen on would colour the sound and then finally your room would too... so all in all it wouldn't sound anything like being with the speakers in your house. I provide 16 minutes of analysis of the speaker sound and compare that to a very popular speaker many have heard.
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic I came here because I have to choose between those two speakers. I will just use them with acoustic guitar sounds and some piano, EQ and editing. I think the HS7 have better mids. Which one would you suggest for my usage, any other speakersuggestion?

Many studios use EQ for monitors. It is absolutely normal )
@fu J Marketing made it's job ) HS8 more honestly
Its interesting that you upgraded from entry level monitors to another entry level monitors.
Hi Kalle, I wouldn't really put it like that. I had no intention of buying the T7V, but I wanted to hear them. Adam sent me a pair to review.
I wouldn't buy the T7V and keep them in my studio to replace the HS7, I'm actually thinking of something like the HEDD Type 20 or Type 30 for my studio. They're a brilliant speaker and a solid upgrade for me.
Cheers for watching,
Andrew
Where are you on the bass 2 years later. And is your room treated. I’m finding my HS50M very muddy. Wondering if these Adams would be right for me in my untreated room. Thanks!
Don't even bother to ask if you room is untreated. Stick to what you have mix in low volume and double check your mixdown on car stereos
@@freemindas Thanks for the reply. Actually I do have some panels and some bass traps, plus I will be adding lots of bits and pieces, on and off, over the coming years. It’s quite a learning process for me, so I tend to play it down. In the meantime my current Yamahas are quite old and, I suspect, damaged. Hence my question about whether you still feel the same way about these speakers today (since your review is two years old) - as I am considering an upgrade and these Adams might well be the way to go. Apologies if I was unclear earlier.
@@accentontheoff I have yamaha Hs8, 5 years since I bought them and they are working flawlessly.
@@freemindas What is your point. Are you suggesting I am imagining the problem? And do you own a pair of Adams. Or is your point just academic.
@@accentontheoff I made my point clear in the first reply. I was just sharing my personal experience with the Yamaha's
You always have to get to know your monitors really well and after you have done a mix, listen to it on as many other devices as possible.
which is better for mixing t7v or a5x?? plz reply
I'll save for A7X, but I heard that a5x has tighter bass
@@DarkPa1adin a7x is little expensive and out of budget. thats why i was planning for t7v or a5x. very confused

No hiss on mine. Funny, many have said the HS7’s hiss
i have the HS7 in my studio. when no sound .... zero noise or hssss. If you have, it's a problem or not your speaker.
I have tested the kali LP6 and lsr305 and they have hssss noise when no sound. My HS7 not ;o)
Chris Bessy probably just like anything else, just occasional factory flaws in a few random cases. I know I’ve never hear anything from my Adam T7V’s
Chris Bessy the very reason I didn’t get the HS7’s was because a few people on TH-cam said they hiss
You told me during a live that you actually think the yamaha’s are better. Do you find the t7v boomy even with the bass switch at -2?
Good question.
review the LP6 by Kali Audio.. Be amazed
you have to let em burn in for like 7 hours . i think the bass is a lot for me and for my room
Anyone that can answer this question? yamaha hs7 vs adam t7v vs kali lp6. and why?
Do you think the kalis lp6 would be better?
Unfortunately I've not heard those speakers mate, so I can't tell!
yes they are
A lot of people says kali audio is flatter and has more bass
I have a big room so I got the t8v
@fu J ca. 6x6x5, pretty big
What kind of room dimensions are you working with these speakers in?
Unfortunately it's almost exactly a 3x3m square room :(
Not the best acoustic environment, but that's the way it goes.
@@andrewmcgill-brown9864 No worries! Did you find yourself ever thinking these monitors were too much for your room? Would the T5v be a better match possibly or were these okay? It looks like your space is acoustically treated so I'm sure that helps out a bunch.
So do you think the t7v would be ok for a 4x4m space? Without sub.
25000 kHz??!! WHAATTTT!!? That's 25000000 Hz MAN!! Adam guys are really adding some serious shit in the top end it seems 😂😂
🙃 ooooops
Smart ass.
didnt understand which speakers hiss?
The Adam T7V have a hiss, sorry I didn't make that clearer in the video. Thanks for watching!
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic I literally just asked about this before I saw this. I don't think they're supposed to hiss. The replacements I got hiss as well and I don't know what to do. Are the Yamahas silent?
@@carolcooper3138 I don't have amazing quality cables, but my interface is an Audient ID14 which is quite a decent mid range interface. Through the Yamaha's I have no problem and use all the same components, the Yamaha are to my ear silent and even when I push the volume on the interface there isn't hiss. I believe it's the ADAM speakers, not any of my components. My neighbor also has the T7V, I should head over there and have a listen to his.
It is quite noticeable at all volume levels even OVER TOP of music playing...
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic if the Yamahas are silent then I doubt your cables are the problem. I've talked to some people who've said that theirs are completely silent. When you go over there please let me know. It's driving me crazy. Mine is also noticeable over music. Which is insanse considering these are studio monitors. My mom's $200 Bose stereo doesn't make noise. My headphones don't make make noise, my bookshelf speakers don't make noise. But my $500 studio monitors make noise???
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic I'm not sure if when people say they are completely silent they mean that they are silent compared to the other ones they've listened to or completely silent (which they should be).
25,000 kilohertz!
You need to EQ your voice. Do a boost and sweep. Find the nasty “s” in your voice and drop it out a couple DB.
Maybe the bass end is weak because of a bit weak amplifier. Compromise must be somewhere in such cheap speakers.
You can use a sub with Adam's 😉
Hey Sai, yep you can. This is a review of the T7V. I can review the sub later on down the track. I think I'll wait til I'm in a bigger studio with better acoustics.
“Twenty five thousand kilohertz” ?? Really?? Do you actually have any idea what you are talking about?
he meant hundred, relax 😂
zxnbeats He meant “25”!! You obviously don’t have any idea what you’re talking about either! 😂
Richard Weller-Boyes thought it said hertz, someone has an air head 😂
zxnbeats If it said “Hertz” then 25 thousand would’ve been correct in the first place, not 25 “hundred”. You really don’t seem to have much of a clue here 😂
OMG, 16 min of "bla, bla, bla" and neither 1 sec of sound!
Hey dude,
It sounds like you have no idea, there is no way you can tell how these speakers sound if I played the speakers and recorded it.
@@starpaolo I explained in the video that the T7V would be a superior speaker for your studio. The midrange and high end is definitely better on the Adam speaker. The low end may be a little more subjective.
