He started out with his pal Buddy Holly, and his kindness to the Big Bopper spared his life, he later found a new brother in Willie, and two more in Johnny and Kris, and together those four became the most famous Highwaymen since the James gang. He found a lasting love in Jessi, and earned immorality in the hearts of all who love country music. He is now playing gigs in Heaven with his idol Hank Williams and his buddies Buddy Holly and Johnny Cash, but not long from now the Highwaymen will reunite for one helluva of a reunion show. Until that day when we will be able to see him, and buds perform, we have the music he left us, and I will take it any day. Rest well Hoss.

😮"This guy named John has been coming into my work for years. When I mentioned that my girlfriend and I are heading to Vietnam next week, he shared something remarkable. John told me he was there during the fall of Saigon, serving as a Marine. He was part of the mission that helped orphan babies get on evacuation planes and helicopters. I paused for a moment and then told him, 'I was one of those babies.' His eyes welled up as he looked at me, and he softly said that he might have held me in his arms during that rescue mission, part of Operation Babylift. We talked for a while, and I thanked him from the bottom of my heart for his service and the kindness he showed all those years ago. Before we parted, he told me he’ll sleep better tonight, knowing that one of those small, innocent babies grew up to have a better life in America. John, you are truly an amazing man. Linda Bollinger one of the things most people either don’t realize or forget about him was how he came up in the music industry. He started back when people went to a show to be entertained and he learned from some of the best there was.
We had the pleasure of seeing what may well have been one of the most influential groups of country legends of this or any century when we enjoyed Waylon, Willie, Tompall & of course one of Country Music's most beautiful ladies ever, Jessie Coulter (or Mrs. Waylon, whichever you prefer). It was at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton Virginia and they were amazing. I'll never forget that when the show ended and the lights came up, the smoke was so thick it was like a thick fog in there. (And just so we're clear, very little of it was cigarette smoke (if you know what I mean...lol)
AWESOME!!! Love Waylon. Have my wall plastered with his pics. Nobody like him. Thanks for sharing. Never too old to enjoy Waylon even though I have great-grandchildren.
Had the pleasure to see Waylon Jennings and meet him after the show in the 80s....him, Willie nelson and David Allen Coe....may not remember me but I will never forget .
As a Limey at 19 I was introduced to country music driving to small towns across Alberta Canada for several years from 1974 to 1980. Once you left the city all you could get was small town radio stations. I latched on pretty darn quick. I listened to all the greats but my all time favorite was and still is Faster Horses, Younger woman yes haw.
Man was he coked up in this one. One of the greatest country singers to ever live. Your music will live on forever Waylon. As you said, you will always be around, and around, and around..........
Yui-Omi Muni He quit around 1984 about when this concert was held. Check out Live at US festival 1983 he was so high but made a hell of a show. Love him!
Believe it or not, he was clean here, it took about two years for him to really look healthy again. You can tell by his weight. When he quit coke his wife and housekeeper pumped him full of milkshakes to ease the withdrawal, Waylon gas said that he probably gained 25 pounds! Check out his autobiography, he talks about this in depth; both funny and touching. If you watch his Austin City Limits show from 89, he is much looser and looks great.
Dang, thanks r. & youtube for this live classic. Great great great ! Can't believe it's such great quality. Good to see him in his prime, although you can tell the diabetes was starting to take a toll. The good do die young. Long live the Outlaws ! !

I bet it was a great show every night!
I miss him; miss his powerful voice. It soothes the soul.
Wish I'd been there he was awesome thanks for sharing your story.
❤2024❤gorgeous man with the best live voice forever ❤
AWESOME!!! Love Waylon. Have my wall plastered with his pics. Nobody like him. Thanks for sharing. Never too old to enjoy Waylon even though I have great-grandchildren.
I can only agree and im so excited with your awesome and friendly comment :) Thank you :)
What does it show? You can enjoy good (!!!!) music at any age. It's just a matter of good taste. Greetings CD
Or too young.
Everyone loved him.
Had the pleasure to see Waylon Jennings and meet him after the show in the 80s....him, Willie nelson and David Allen Coe....may not remember me but I will never forget .
Get It Waylon!!! A True Man's Man!!! Rebel Music for LIFE!!
Country stations used to play this jam almost hourly it was so popular
As a Limey at 19 I was introduced to country music driving to small towns across Alberta Canada for several years from 1974 to 1980. Once you left the city all you could get was small town radio stations. I latched on pretty darn quick. I listened to all the greats but my all time favorite was and still is Faster Horses, Younger woman yes haw.
26 second mark, he was talking from hurt and pain and truth, and they laughed cause they didn't truly know where he was coming from!!!! But we do!
Truth 4 sure.
He could story tell the phone book to me just so as he smiled. I miss our greats family and my music I grew up on.
Hello dear, how’re you doing? Greetings from San Diego 😊
Waylon is lucky he grew up in the days when “labeling” wasn’t so common Love ya Waylon just a good ol boy...❤️😀😀😀🎶
This is way beyond any praise. Waylon was the King
I can't say I'm proud of all of the things I've done, but I can say I've never intentionally hurt anyone.
Love him!
waymoreman Will do!!!
The great Waylon Jennings cowboys never die ❤🎶🎵🙏❤🎶🙏
Dang, thanks r. & youtube for this live classic. Great great great ! Can't believe it's such great quality. Good to see him in his prime, although you can tell the diabetes was starting to take a toll. The good do die young. Long live the Outlaws ! !
