This is beginning to get embarrassing for the Police now. I think an FOI request to each force to establish how many successful claims have been made against officers in these circumstances over a 24 month period and the outcomes for the individual officers concerned would be appropriate. This information would show any concerning trends and could be used to put pressure on the Home Secretary to consider a formal review of policing standards. Even declined FOI requests or 'we don't hold that data' refusals would in itself show a substantial failing in policing management standards.

But Police Scotland's Stone Age attitude to filming them will change after the same financial pressure is applied to them. Watch for the results of Man In The High Castle's civil case. He has more than enough reason and evidence to very publicly sue Police Scotland and the Aberdeen PF into last week for their shameful and criminal behaviour and abuse of law.

If you won't ID then it's usually the next step in their book to just quote section 43 so they can search you looking for something to ID you by even though they have any evidence or even real suspicion once again lazy policing by ultimately dirty cops. “It was very simple. You were just asked....” a question that you have absolutely no obligation to answer.... So the cops made the conscious decision to react with total violence as a way to intimidate you into complying with their unwarranted demands/questions.
Flip this around. Say a cop is surveilling you, so you confront him. Cop will automatically play dumb as they ‘don’t release info on ongoing investigations’. Does that give us the authority to abuse/assault them?
So strange that the public servants with guns are so concerned with their safety, that HARMING a citizen is acceptable.

The amount of new recruits with serious mental health conditions that would impact their ability to do their job and be safe around the public was unbelievable and the staff responsible for this really didnt care that much when it was down to their screening methods what allowed them through. Just to put it into context the only medical screening new recruits had during the pandemic was a phone call and there was zero follow ups. Do you wonder why there are so many aggressive officers that misuse their powers and police based on their feelings and thoughts 🤔 bare in mind a lot of these conditions were based around social anxiety....... really ?!?!? Protection of Freedoms Bill Fact Sheet- Part 4: Counter-Terrorism Powers
The review of counter-terrorism and security powers recommended that section 44 be repealed and be replaced with a tightly circumscribed version. The Protection of Freedoms Bill does this1. The new power enables the police to stop and search people and vehicles with no suspicion only in the exceptional circumstances where: (a) a senior police officer reasonably suspects that an act of terrorism will take place; and (b) where the powers are considered necessary to prevent such an act. In addition to this significantly higher threshold for the police to authorise the use of the powers, there are a range of strengthened safeguards. These include reducing the maximum authorisation length from 28 to 14 days; a requirement that the size and time of authorisations should be no longer than necessary; and the purposes of the search are narrowed. This is supported by a robust statutory Code of Practice. As an interim measure, pending the passage of the Bill, the Home Secretary has made the Terrorism Act 2000 (Remedial) Order 2011 which has the effect of replacing the section 44 powers with powers similar to those set out in clause 60 of and Schedule 5 to the Bill. The Remedial Order was passed by Parliament in October.
