I understand that he was not legally obligated to answer those questions, but he wasn't being forced to. He could've walked away at any time, or even just ignored them and continued filming the station. By continuing to interact with him, he's ultimately subjecting himself to this.
Although the officers were overly persistent, they never forced the guy to answer questions that he's not obligated to answer. Therefore they never abused their power but were still rather unprofessional, continuing to harass the man with questions despite the man clearly not wanting to answer those questions.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a neighbour. She had been on a visit to Cambridge accompanying, as a Church carer. a lad with learning difficulties. This lad was taking pictures of the Town Hall & was told to stop by the Police. Of course, being mentally disassociated, he laughed more and carried on clicking away with his "toy". The long & the short of it was he was arrested, handcuffed and taken away to a cell away from his carer. This lady is a very Christian, middle aged, middle class sort if that helps put this in context. She told me hours later when she was at last allowed to see this young man he was a total wreck. He had soiled himself & was delivered back to her ward in that state & literally climbing the walls. It took much time to normalise him. I said she should go to the papers or local TV with this but she never did. Cambridgeshire Police "Creating a Safer Cambridgeshire". Pull the other one. I got the impression my neighbour glimpsed behind the veil that day!

Some tart literally headbutted me and gave me a nosebleed (from both nostrils - but I don't think it was broken) outside a nightclub - this wasn't a fight, she beckoned me over for a light and when I got close, she literally, out of nowhere, butted me.
There was a police car outside the club, so I went to them and told them what had happened. During the actual conversation - she walked past the car we were sat in, and I told them - that's her. They literally replied "well, we can't do anything can we?".
    Unbelievable.

    Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS
The Commissioner has prohibited the use of chewing-gum by police officers on duty because the practice seemed to him not only to invite unfavourable comment, but also to be likely to impair an officer's capacity to deal promptly and efficiently with many of the situations which are constantly arising in the course of his duties.

    KNOW THE LAW!
Remember, according to social distancing shop staff cannot “touch” you or come within 1 metre without breaking guidelines, (but of course they touch everything your buying) 🤷‍♂️ and if you refuse to wear a mask in their shop cannot physically throw you out, but can only call the police to enforce a government 'guideline'. The big problem for the police is that that would be breaking the Law if they tried to enforce a 'guideline', because police can only legally enforce Criminal Law.
If the police detain you, or arrest you because, naturally, you have refused to cooperate, they are then guilty of unlawful detention, which comes under the criminal code of 'kidnapping'.
If they try to fine you, without first 'kidnapping' you, you are not obliged to give them any information, not even your name, and without your name they cannot issue a fine.
If they find out your name, by whatever means and then issue a fine, you can simply state that you refuse to accept or pay any fine and they will then be obliged to caution you, which would be totally illegal since you will not have committed any crime (guidelines being optional to follow) and again, they would not be enforcing any law.
Know the difference: Guidelines come under 'civil law' and crimes come under 'criminal law'. The police are not allowed to enforce 'civil law' - only the local authority and the civil courts can attempt to do that. So, demand that the Court issue you with a date for an appearance, and when/if you go to court your defence will be illegal detention and kidnapping, and in the civil court you will be able to demand substantial compensation as a counter-claim from the police, plus insist that criminal charges are brought against the arresting and detaining officers.
Now, nobody says that it will get to that stage, indeed it would be very unlikely to, but can you imagine how the Courts will be clogged up for years, perhaps decades, trying to process those bloody awkward bastards who had the bald-faced cheek to know the Law and also know their civil rights.
PS: Ensure you use your phone and record the whole even, to be used as leverage and evidence. But just remember this one fact - the police cannot enforce civil Law and therefore have no rights in determining whether or not you have to wear a mask, just because the government says so. That process would be called a 'dictatorship' and we are not quite there yet, despite this government's valiant attempts to make it so.

Good grief it takes 6 Coppers to intimidate a member of the public who just so happens to be well within his legal rights to use a camera to document events in a public place.
To be honest I'm not surprised this happened, the police in Cambridge are a disgrace.
A few years ago my wife was litter picking a grass verge while standing safely on a pavement in our village when two police cars turned up to enquire what she was doing. It was plain to see that she was a volunteer helping to keep the village clean and tidy - but they treated her like a criminal.
On another occasion when my wife and I were assaulted returning home from the gym one evening we were told "Sorry we are too short staffed this evening to attend" as the attacker jumped into a car and made their escape.
And the pièce de résistance was when my mobile telephone was stolen by two youths on a moped last year, and I end up being charged by Cambridgeshire Police with assault, all because I had the audacity to stand up to two thiefs and recover my stolen phone.
Now I'm the one facing a Courtroom trial for defending myself and recovering my stolen property.
Thank you for the video and keep up the good work of auditing the British Police.
