Max Verstappen is the son of Jos Verstappen who was also a Formula 1 driver. His mother was a go kart champion. During her go kart career she drove against future Formula 1 drivers. P.s. She never was in Formula 1. Only a few women were in Formula 1 back in the day.

I fell in love with F1 when Senna drove and then came Michael Schumacher (the greatest of all time) and I was blown away. Still 12 German World Champion Titles (MSC 7, VET 4, ROS 1) later, I am a huge nerd of this sport and support Max with all my heart.

@RedBus908 yes you can, many call their favs (Hamilton, Verstappen, Schumacher, Senna, Alonso, and so on) THE goat
but in reality, we will never know unless they all drive for fastest lap on a specific circuit in the same machinery and exactly the same conditions (obviously with however many tries they want over their lifetime) and that will never happen

@30m50s In F1 you don't need to support just one driver or team like you do in Football. Our drivers and teams are so good that we admire almost all of them. We applaud their best moments and feel for them on their thoughest ones. In a race, we don't just watch who is winning, but also the tough fights for points happening in the back. I'm currently happy seing Mclaren back to the top, and would like to see that also happening to Williams one day. Happy to see Lewis getting one more win, but also new drivers getting their first win. For me, F1 is more about the stories than the races themselves. Cheers

Spa-Francorchamps (actually, next stage, as I'm writing) is my favourite track.
Brasil and Canada also give nice races due to weather.
Monaco and Silverstone should be preserved forever for "historical reasons" (Monaco is usually only loved by pilots and nostalgic fans).
I'd love to have Portimão in the calendar.

Well, it seems the RB dominance has come to an end today - in the race in Hungary McLaren finished 1st and 2nd! The McLaren factory is also awsome, check it out.
I guess the most likeable driver in F1 now is Daniel Ricciardo, a Australian guy. Always showing a big smile, always ready to make a joke. To bad he is not the fastest lately, more finishing in the mid field.
But dont forget: the main goal in F1 is to make lots of money, for the teams, the drivers, the FIA and everybody else. Over all its more a big circus rather than a sport.

I got into F1 because of Finnish drivers entering the sport. Finland has most champions per capita, most race wins per capita and so on. 3 champions out of 7 drivers who has been in the sport (Rosberg, Häkkinen (twice) and Räikkönen).. And one half Finn champion too, just didn't race in F1 under Finnish passport, the son of the first champion. Favorite track is Spa, which is in this weekend. It is one of the oldest tracks, it is fast and has the best corners on the calendar, Eau Rouge and Radillon.

To awnser a few of your questions. I fell in love with F1 in the period when Senna (Brasilian) and Prost (Frenchman) were fighting for the Championship. Max Verstappen is one of a kind. He won his fitst Grand Prix at the age of 17! He did'nt even have his Dutch drivers licence yet. 😂 He would never drive for Red Bull if he was'nt a supertalent. Everyone in F1 is a hero for me. The steering wheel has about 70 (!) funtions they have to know blindly. Imagine racing at 200 miles per hour and at the same time managing everyting from your steering wheel. My superhero is Max Verstappen, but that's because I'm from The Netherlands. But in the past you had Prost, Senna, Alonso, Hamilton (7 x World Champion!) Shumacher, Rosberg, Haikonen. All great drivers and I problably did'nt mention enough. The rules change often. 20 years ago they had to refuel the cars. Nowadays that's forbidden. I'm old school, I loved the sound of the older cars. But now they become more and more electric. You hear it in the sound of the cars. Good for humanity, bad for the feeling of the race cars. I don't care who is the main sponsor of the car. Red Bull 'bought' the F1 spot from Jaguar for 1 pound (one!) because they suddenly stopped with F1 racing. It would be nice to see the real car manufactures racing, like Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault, who still do. But many teams buy their engines from mostly those. This year McClaren is doing very well with Norris (English) and Piastri (Australian). Still, I think Verstappen will win.

I’m a F1 fan since 1988 and a F1 weekend really makes my… weekend. There’s one thing I always find a bit crazy about F1. F1 is not an individual sport. It’s a teamsport. So world championships for drivers is very strange. A driver is nothing without the team, without the men and women in the factory. Other way around the team is nothing without the driver, but still… it is not an individual sport. It’s all about the constructor’s championship. But somehow that’s not as sexy as the driver’s championship. Never understood that :)

I just like the Scottish accent! And you live in Malaysia? Do you speak Bahasa Melayu?
Anyway, I follow Formula One for about 35 years now. I have also been to the Formula One race in Sepang, Kuala Lumpur back in 2005. Top drivers since 1990: Senna, Schumacher, Vettel, Hamilton, Verstappen. But there are many other drivers from the past which were pretty good too. A few we should not forget are Fangio, Clark, Lauda, Rindt, Prost.

Formula 1 was great until ~2010 when they took out the sound from the cars and but more and more electronics into the engine. The peak time (I think) from the late 80s to late 2000s. Yes, it was much more dangerous which is not a good thing but that cars were beasts and the drivers (pilots) were different kind of human who can control those monsters on the edge and they have balls of steel. Todays car much more safety which is very good but they are too big and too heavy. Before the electric engines in the sport the cars were 600 kg min., now they are nearly 900 kg. In the 80s turbo era there were 1000+ horespower cars with ~600 kg weight at all, minimal electroincs and H pattern gearbox. Yes, nowadays technology is more refined and more complex, not easier drive the newer era F1 cars but I think something "artistic" and "spirit" lost from the world and from this sport. I recommend to watch the documentary called 1 Life on the Limit for example.

For the last 2 years the Red Bull car was by far the fastest, this year some of the other teams have closed the gap. Looking at the last few races u might say the McLaren has the better car at the moment. If McLaren keeps this momentum throughout the rest of the season, we could be looking at another heated championship battle like we had 3 years ago (Max vs. Hamilton).
The halo on the cockpit was introduced a few years ago when another driver got hit in the head with a part coming of another drivers car and was severly wounded. Think it might have been Filipe Massa but don't quote me on that cause i am not sure.
