I'm a returner, only MR8, and finally getting serious with the game. Getting Gauss Prime through the miracle of relics has been a world changer for me. Most of my frames felt like place holders, while I melee'd everything. This one has skills that actually make a huge impact. :) The speed is godly. Thanks for helping me build him.
Thank you for keeping your warframe videos simple, informative and good for anyone playing warframe without blasting us with 7 forma builds and nothing but the top tier weapons etc, oh and not blasting us with music while trying to explain your builds. Definitely trying this out on my gauss
Gauss is so perfect to the point that I kinda dislike him for that. His kit intertwined so well with each other that I find it really really hard to decide which ability to subsume on him for different kind of build. (I do eventually decided to subsume thermal sunder most of the time). I also wanted to try subsume his mach rush for roar and using armor strip along with status heat weapon and then detonate with thermal sunder for those spicy neuron activation number on demo units 😂
As others have stated. Gauss only needs 100% strength to be effective. Negative strength really hurts his tanking prowess and extra strength provides negligible benefits to his abilities. You're better off building for Duration and Range.
Not entirely, for example in normal path thats 100% fine because it will nuke whatever is in sight, then you could go 280% range no worries, but in steel path its really nice to have a high base for sunder since it scales off it's self, and gets pretty crazy eventually allowing you to strip/nuke almost anything that exists, you could in theory reach this relatively easy with lower strength but the start out base heat increase is GREAT for this, so he only needs 100% to be effective, can even go lower and still be effective, but man is he effective with higher strength :)

Power strength only scales the base level of his kinetic plating. So as long as you’re redlining he is still just as tanky even with negative power strength.
Dude, this guide helped immensely first playing Gauss yesterday. I changed the build up a bit, since I am early-ish game. Had to focus more on energy sustain. Still, this man absolutely shreds. And the Lesion with Redline up is just ridiculous. The Mesa at the Eris Junction last night was not prepared for my handheld wood chipper 😂
@@morning8590 Would you be able to explain optimal thermal sunder usage? Should I only be using it once I’ve hit 100% redline? I seem to have trouble with the heat draining my battery which can be really bad because it makes me squishier.
We really need an augment for redline similar to lasting covenant. Gauss is my second favourite frame and I use him a lot, but the need to constantly restack battery and redline all the time gets to me a bit.
When you asked what kind of content I’d like to see, I wasn’t sure how to honestly answer as I’m still new and don’t really know tbh. But this video answered it for me. The best gauss mix between duration and nuking Brief respite i just use it cus this is a spamable thermal sunder build and if i were hit by electricity i can just spam it over and over till its over, cunning drift,primed continuity,streamline,equilibrium,umbrul intensify,overextended,primed flow,fleeting expertise rank 3 since you only need 170 efficiency,and stretch Arcanes: molt augmented and efficiency 4 red shards duration and one yellow casting speed You can switch out umbral intensify for any other mod if you have molt augmented maxed rank i use intensify cus i only need to get 60 kills to get 100% strength back instead of 200 this build took me to level 1k on zariman youll only have 65 seconds of his redline and kinetic plating but the lower the duration the quicker you reach 100% and the quicker you reach invincibility and full potential thermal sunder
So gauss is basicly a solo frame: you have to keep running around, slow or camping frames like khora, protea, wisp,octavia etc. etc. will be a headache in the same mission.
he is decent at camping in the sense that his thermal sunder just basically kills inside khora net or what ever hydroid is hanging or just in nekro's path, but what he is really great at is defence with his area clear and then disruption he is excellent at and any open world stuff he is amazing! but is does take a bit to get use to :) also yes he is FANTASTIC for solo play

My take is it's busted 0_0 the fact that it can armor strip, deal aoe heat damage, and the damage being good even if you dont take the armor strip is crazy, really good against armored units, now that you mentioned it it is actually weird that I havent done a dedicated video on it, I have used it in a few videos for armor strip but never its own, ill get on it :)

I wouldnt actually reccomend glaive on gauss since a normal swing melee helps his battery so much, one of my favourite melees on gauss is the Dual keres prime, really good!
I already got his prime but I will still use regular gauss. Gauss became accessible to people not wanting to farm the regular one because of his prime. So I will keep using regular one

I like the pillage personally. I’m finishing up subsuming Hildryn and I’m gonna try it. Btw, how are you building your weapons for murmur missions?
I highly recommend you try replacing his 3 with silence and pairing it with a rakta dark dagger (with argonak and a primer if you wanna insult the enemies even more) i get like 200 kpm with a riven and maxed melee influence on the rakta and it gives even better shield sustain
Absolutely, the 1st build is great for level cap, and you could swap pillage to roar aswell then with molt augmented stacked you'd have 60% bane for heat and slash to double dip off if you were going for something like that, with pillage its great regardless of going dot builds or not because armor strip is just to good, that that would be amazing for something like survival or cascade etc etc, but will also destroy disruption because pillage will still just strip a demo then its easy game :)

Warning ⚠️ this person below is going on an insignificant rant below 👇 unless you are using a helminth that requires strength, THERE IS NO NEED TO BUILD STRENGTH ABOVE 100% the effects of redline are affected by DURATION The DR from kinetic plating is affected by strength....BUT IT IS ALREADY 100% DR, UNMODDED with thermal sunder, there is no need for strength at all. the heat proc is affected by strength if I remember correctly, but you could also just put on archon vitality to DOUBLE your damage with just one mod. And if you really want it to scale to 9999 enemies, strength doesn't affect heat inherit. Crazy? @@sal_monella you are sorta correct, strength above 100% only effects the starting value of kinetic plating. Getting to the 100% Dr is only effects by duration tho. I see no reason to build strength, when you can just build more duration, to keep the DR longer.
Strongest warframe in the game? For real? He's low tier man, his only useful ability is thermal sunder which you can transfer to other warframe using helminth anyway
But on Gauss you already have Thermal sunder on a frame that is essentially invincible, super fast, has no need for PSF in the buiild, is an excellent weapon platform for both melee and ranged, and has higher damage potential and utility with Thermal sunder than other frames since the change. He may not be THE best, but he is up there.

@@kangaroochiliusing cold gives you 10% battery and using heat makes you loose 10% battery
But the best time to use it is at 100% on redline
gauss is like the most self synergistic frame. i play gauss and i didnt know some things in this video.

you forgot to take off the shards for the beginner build
yeah it still functions without but 130->205 dur is still a huge difference.

Kinetic plating gives you 5% energy conversion from damage
my gauss is 230% range but still significantly less aoe size why?
