EDIT: U26 buffed heat forgot to mention this but it was a good boost to Gauss and sunder. Apologies! EDIT 2: Sorry for the slight typos at the beginning On December 23rd, over a year ago I started this "series" where I dive into warframes with great detail, going over their abilities, design and meta history. Over the past 12 months I've learned a lot. Made new friends and changed my perceptions about video creation forever. Genuinely, thank you for sticking around and watching my videos. It makes me really happy that people enjoy these videos and wait for new ones. With Gauss we began, and today its time we celebrate the 1 year anniversary, with Gauss... revisited.
I literally re-watched that video TODAY, along with Kyaii's, to clarify everything I'd overlooked with Gauss (whom I'd considered one of my favorite Warframes despite not understanding his kit beyond his 4th and 1st abilities). I was fighting burnout as hard as I could, but I didn't have the attention span with Warframe to understand all of his nuances. Now that Prime is here, once I've got all of his parts, it'll be time for my own Gauss Revisit.
I will make you experience the irl red line experience lol bro don’t test me I am going to make sure you gonna be moaning to if you don’t take about warframe players
1 thing to note about Thermal Sunder is when using it for armor stripping is that it converts all the possible heat proc damage including DOTs into 1 singular blast proc. So if you have a weapon that can apply tons of heat procs fast then cold sunder you can do millions of damage in singular blast proc armor stripping and nuking them at the same time
The thing that makes Gauss so perfect is that his kit felt so complete and all his abilities compliment each other so perfectly that you dont need to subsume.
@@welcometochiles6156 or wrathful advance and become a warp striking mega melee beserker. as soom as i can i'm loading prime with 5 reds just for the extra multiplier.
His full prime trailer showcased how high energy he is as well. Which was fun given how he was basically the polar opposite of the atmosphere of Grendel's.
What I find most fascinating about Gauss isn't his speed, as according to the ability page, he tops out at around 55MPH, not the 767.269MPH that is actual Mach 1, but rather his acceleration and deceleration. Dude reaches max speed nearly instantaneously, stops to idle just as fast.
Definitely, his strength lies in agility, not as much top speed. First person I’ve heard that seems to understand that. People compare Volt and his speed all the time, but they miss this entirely.
In his prime trailer Gauss SLOWS DOWN to flick a bullet, catching it, then puts it back on trajectory to a guy's head. With an intermediate cartridge having an average muzzle velocity of about 3,000 ft/s, or 2,000 mph, that means even lowballing the shit out of his speed gauss canonically reaches at least mach 2. And he doesn't look like he's straining to hit it
The best part is that if you’re a veteran and have mastered warframe’s movement system, his Mach rush gives a whole new forward movement dimension both in air and on ground with quick taps
Gauss is by far my favourite Warframe, over 2000 hours and he’s at over 50% usage. The love Gauss has gotten from DE with this prime access warms my heart, thanks for another video on my boy
What I wish you mentioned/showcased would be that TS is so strong it can easily *nuke* SP-tier enemies even without all the boosting with just 40% strength and maybe A. Vitality. Gotta love the Flash frame, man!
@@NovaUmbral I know, I know, I just wanted to point out that Gauss *really* doesn't care about strength at all, and you can still perform ridiculously well while ignoring that stat, accounting for the math or not - by no means do I want to hate on the vid, it's great!

Not only is it completely over the top but removing the 4 from Gauss is heresy.
IMHO Gauss was one of the few frames who demonstrated that meta and fun are not mutually exclusive. Being able to zip around any tileset at great speed, being tanky AND being a strong gun platform are usually gimmicks on their own - Mirage is a great gun platform but is built like paper. Revenant and Xaku are fantastic tanks but can be quite dull after some time. Titania and Volt can both be extremely fast in their own right but are sometimes uncontrollable in certain tilesets. (I know each frame has other uses but Im talking about their designed archetypes) Gauss somehow manages to balance all 3 simultaneously. Extremely quick but can stop on a dime if needs be. Complete damage reduction FROM being fast and both of those combined with his Redline essentially makes him feel like a mobile AA-cannon. Fun and functional. Who woulda guessed they go well together?
Who would’ve thought that the super speed character would be one of the best and most fun to use characters in a game praised for its incredible mobility. My main man Gauss has never failed me

Man I love this frame ever since I got into the game 4 years ago. DE really nailed the design with Gauss that I don't really enjoy playing any warframes released after him lol.
Was a Rhino main pretty well since I started the game. Had farmed and built Gauss to use as MR fodder but forgot about him for about 2 or 3 years. Finally got around to him, and loved him the very first time. Has become my main in everything except Eidolons since then
Gauss was the main reason I started playing Warframe. His so fun to play and very fun and easy to learn. This boi does one thing and is the best at it, MUST GO ZOOOOM!
Your calculations are wrong at 26:28 . You are calculating only a single tick of the heat damage. Each tick of heat deals 50% of the hit that triggered it. Over it's full duration, heat will tick 5 times for a total of 250% damage per proc. When the heat procs are converted into blast procs by the cold sunder, it converts all the remaining damage in the heat proc into a single blast proc, which is then dealt all in a single instance of damage in a 6m aoe around every affected enemy. This is called density scaling, and it is the reason thermal sunder is one of if not the best nuke in the game.
No hate against Mach Crash, it has become a staple part of my gauss builds as its such an easy and quick decently ranged succ that has a free ragdoll effect included. I cannot live without it as it has completely become part of my muscle memory after 500hrs of Gauss. Also good video doing gauss' perfected design justice

While I use Titania and spam Nova portals for novelty, I tend to prefer simple speed boosts since I love the core movement. Extra situational bursts of movement though? I'd love more of that. Little overlooked tip: Arcane Consequence, it's a VERY big multiplier, very cheap too. Try experimenting with which weapons get headshots most easily, which is a LOT of them on Mag. How much you value consistency vs. effort is up to you, Phantasma alt-fire tapping has great ease of use but won't always hit the heads. (Of course it has the beam if you're up for some aiming)
Ok well i'll go watch your old gauss video and then come back to see the improvement, just finished myt gauss prime (never played gauss before) and hoping he's a lot of fun!
One important thing for Thermal Sunder that wasn't mentioned (unless I missed it) is that if you can get multiple heat procs on an enemy and then cast the cold side of it, ALL of the damage that the heat dots would do over time get dealt at once dealing a massive amount of damage. So if you cast the heat one four or five times and then cast the cold one, it is very easy to see millions of damage and nuke a massive section of the map.

Sonic the Warframe has the most complete kit. All of his abilities synergize with each other, all of them are good, and all of them fit his stat philosophy. Which is More Duration = More Power. The boi becomes MOTIVATED with enough duration on Redline, and he doesn't even need more than 100% strength.
I remember when I first got gauss I was sorta still a brainless noob playing him for fun and messing with mach rush, finding his use and then experimenting with builds. I’ve truly grown to cherish gauss as both a perfect mix of fucking fun as shit to play and really damn useful for multiple things

Most addictive first ability in game.
Excellent work my friend 😏
I grew up racing and around fast cars so a frame based on speed was made for me. I love running him with a vaykor hek and ending the world.
I heard the hi-fi rush music at the end and thought my music was on
The only thing they have left to buff on Gauss is to make his Noble stance's animation loop properly.
Me, never having played Warframe:
I N T E R E S T I N G
Take a shot everytime he says "And what not"
Wisp is my most used frame, Gauss is my 17th most used frame yet I'm more excited about getting his Prime than I was about getting Wisp.
Normal Gauss: Perfect and Cool
Gauss Prime: Perfect and even Cooler
Glad people are enjoying him more been using this frame since 2020 lol
So what your saying is, Gauss is a Sunder-dere?
Gauss is the only warframe that you dont want him to clap them cheeks🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Titania: Awww, he thinks he's fast 🤭
All she needs is razor wing blitz.
Why use an augment when tje whole frame is designed for speed? In that way titania sucks.
There's a lot of talk around here about Thermal Sunder, but nothing is better than giving Gauss a Grakata with a +200% Fire Rate Riven.
I remember when I first got gauss I was sorta still a brainless noob playing him for fun and messing with mach rush, finding his use and then experimenting with builds. I’ve truly grown to cherish gauss as both a perfect mix of fucking fun as shit to play and really damn useful for multiple things
So, for Thermal Sunder Gauss
The Epitaph has forced cold procs and makes an excellent heat inherit primer. You see where I'm going with this
Stack Roar + insane heat weight via Thermal Transfer and mods + Archon vitality. Have Roar active, spam Epitaph, cast Thermal Sunder once or twice and you basically guarantee death
