@@brunabrito9206 Yeah, I was very nitpicky about color concept and didn't like having the same colors on the same characters, but now I feel like it would actually make the characters in a background feel really busy.
(8:30) To anyone using Medibang, to do this: - Make a new layer on top of all your colouring - Colour the whole thing black (you can easily do this by setting the bucket tool to layer rather than canvas and just paint bucketing) - Set layer to 'Colour' - Whenever the layer is on everything undearneath the layer will be greyscale so you can check your values (Hopefully this was of help to someone :D)
For anybody using Firealpaca, to do the same thing as the above: -Make a new folder -Put coloring layers in folder -Make new layer, put on top of the folder. -Use the bucket tool (LAYER) and fill the layer in. -Press "Clipping"
I would be so happy to see you do the "one layer challenge" again!! I've watched it soo many times over and over again. And i think we should see your skills 2 years before using one layer compared to now! Anyways this tutorial was helpful 🗾
Words can't express how much of a lifesaver this video is! I have been looking through dozens of color theory and color palete videos and while I was able to understand some of it it still didn't fully click. This video is the opposite. Thanks to you I completely understand colors now! Thank you so so much for making this video!❤️
Jesus christ, this was the best color tutorial ever. I didn't even know gradients are that usual. I always have a trouble with coloring my drawings. Thank you so much.
That part near the end about how to make colors that don't look so good work together better was great! I have a lot of characters who wear the same uniform (a bright orange jumpsuit, too), so a lot of them look very... clashing. XD So those tips on making the whole picture more cohesive were fantastic!
Hey, this helped me a lot, thank you. I always pick very saturated colors for my palette so I need to remember to tone it down. Picking only one color to be saturated is like asking a parent who their favorite child is!
I've been using clip studio for a little over half a year and never knew about half of the things you mentioned here, so thank you for making this! Definitely gonna give these tips a try.
Ive been drawing for years but ive not had much success with digital in the last two. Im finally getting back into it and haven't had much luck finding the right tutorial for me, but this was perfect. Thank you so much!
Yay! I was already hoping you would make a video sponsored by clipstudio, since they were already showing lots of tutorials by other artists lately. You certainly belonged to the list of those great tutorials! This video was really helpfull! Thx

@@Love2DrawManga Also you were super helpful by the way! I didn't know about gradient maps and the different types of color schemes before! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the video! Wanted to mention one thing - 8:23 Using Saturation adjustment for grayscale doesn’t accurately show values. The best way to check values is actually to apply a white layer set to Color. If you only adjust Saturation to 0, bright yellow and bright red will look the same even though we know yellow is lighter in relative value. You can compare those methods to see the difference :) it was frustrating me before when trying to check my values and I only recently figured this out so thought I would share!!

Girl thank you, every time I make a new character design I just make the colours based off of strawberry shortcakes and other foods with a soft colour palette.
A good rule of thumb for me is to choose a main color that reflects the user’s personality and have a contrasting color for the main color to balance it out. Such as yellow:blue or orange:green
Your videos are like literally what make my Saturday mornings; always entertaining and helpful! Especially the tips. Hopefully I can apply these ideas more to my art to improve on colour schemes! ^-^
