Cannot wait for Shane to run the full NASCAR series in 2024. Should be some good lessons being taught to the American drivers that have only been running solid back axles until this year.
he's not running the full series, only select races (likely the road courses and street track/s) because he doesn't have a speedway license yet. He'll compete in the Truck and XFinity series to earn those license points before going on to NASCAR full time.
American speaking here: Thank you MAVTV for bringing this series to America, where it can get some much needed exposure. This feels like stock cars + road racing - the blatant entertainment value that NASCAR has.

I just want to know who was telling a couple of the Camaro guys to say that the Mustangs were quick in a straight line when they were clearly lacking in that area compared to the Chev.

I was sad to see Kevin Estre bow out early- he has been incredable in Porsche endurance racing; I thought he would manage the car fine but it goes to show how much feel and control you need in Supercars and especially at Bathurst. This is some of the best racing I've ever seen. I really wish there was a series in the US that was like this! Oh that's right, NASCAR right? Well, not really. Although NASCAR is exciting it doesn't really compare to the incredible racing I'm watching in these Super Cars. These drivers are so talented. Incredible racing! I'm 70 years old and won't ever get a chance to see them race but y'all are just incredible. Sure wish you would come to America for a exhibition race. It would be heaven.
First of all congrats to Shane and Ritchie, deserving winners. Now to the actual racing part, this is the worst 1000 i’ve watched in my life (born 02, first one i remember watching was 2006) Having drivers driving at 4-5 seconds off qualifying pace just to make sure the tyres can do most of a fuel load. Put a bloody tyre on these cars that’s designed for them and not a carryover from the older generation of cars. And also this parity thing is a complete and utter joke, only cars passing anyone were Camaro’s towards the end of stints. A quote ive heard from a current camaro driver first hand is that they know they don’t have to try to overtake the car in front if its a ford. They know they can wait 10 laps and they’ll be past. Please fix this series that we all grew up with and loved.

What Great win For Shane Van Ginsburgen and Richie Stanaway finishing 1st Place. Second Place Goes to B Kostecki and Russell. And De Pasquale and D'Alberto Take Third Place At Mount Panorama Circuit In Bathurst.
As an American I am Sorry to see Shane head to US and NASCAR, a suck series which is a shadow of it's glory. But likely he will make far more money. V8 Supercars are the best and the Bathurst 1000 is a bucket list race.
What a disgrace of a race. Wake up to yourselves Supercars, you have 2 sides of fans to look after. Ford had absolutely no chance at winning that race, be honest about it! When you have a 3-4kph advantage up and down every straight on this track there is no chance of beating that. Even the wounded Red Bull and Coke cars were easily outpacing the Shell car by the end and beating it by over 30seconds. Im happy they made it onto the podium, but it wasnt an honest reflection of the race had 88 not had the mechanical failure.
I think the race has lost its mojo from many years ago. I remember when you could get a few laps in front and if something happened you could get it in fix it and still possibly win. The safety car is a problem. Bunching everyone up is just a waste of a drivers effort. 2 car team. if someone is in good position work on a strategy to bring out safety car just after you have done your pit stop then as everyone else dives in you just drive past them. Idea, get a team of road recovery out with 60kmh signs to slow racers down as they collect the car. Especially in these situations someone just stuck in the dirt.Then as you go past you speed up again.
are we ever going to get the same sort of thrill we got in 2014 again? i love watching v8s and Bathurst especially like the rest but man. its difficult to watch sometimes

I think today confirmed for me that I'm done with V8s which is a huge shame but far out what a snoozefest... I was really hoping Gen3 would even out the field but it did the opposite somehow

Sorry but I was disappointed, I hoped for better racing and overtaking. I thought Supercars was going to make these cars more equal so we could enjoy true racing, all the hype has failed. Clearly Chev has the clear upper hand which is a pity, closer racing equals more excitement.
Shane telling the interviewer that the mustangs are hard to overtake is an absolute pisstake which im sure he's aware of. I watched this race live. I never saw a mustang get down the inside of a camaro.

The only thing worse than the race was channel sevens coverage. Even Richie Stanaway, could barely crack a smile. Bathurst 1000 has been hollowed out.

I have followed for near 40 years, lived to the east of the chase for years and I agree, the racing was too predictable and quite boring.
